Fishing Opportunities
We enjoy four of the surrounding lakes, Lake Hope, Fox Lake, Burr Oak lake, and Rose Lake. Rose Lake was the most serene, most beautiful, and most fishes caught even in the rain. We definitely will fish there again.

Great Cabin near Hocking Hills
Everything in the cabin was nice and clean. It was well stocked with anything you could need, from a full kitchen to a large collection of dvds. The property was beautiful and peaceful. We had no issues finding it whatsoever. The hosts left great recommendations on different travel routes, places to eat, and things to do. Would definitely book this place again for another trip.

Excellent cabin
Loved the cabin and all of the sleeping room. Was big enough to fit everyone. Super cute property and clean! I really like how this cabin had a little bit of everything in the kitchen. Really helped make the stay easier in regards to cooking. This cabin was close (within reasonable driving distance) to all the hiking locations. Would definitely recommend.

Secluded cabin
This was a BEAUTIFUL place. I was turning 26, just wanted somewhere to get away from kids, SO, life, work, etc and this place was perfect to do just that! Now I did have to bring my infant, big brother stay home with dad, but I had a great stay. Enough beds for everyone, big enough to hangout but still have your own space if you wanted to step away, AMAZING hot tub. The deck upstairs was nice to have my own little private moment with nature in the morning haha! Super clean & when booking the host was super nice & willing to work with our payments ☺️ will recommend to all my friends & I now have decided to make this place my yearly bday getaway! Thanks so much for hosting us, can’t wait to be back next year!

I did a solo get away and whether going alone or with family/friends this host and property are top of the line. Beautiful natural surroundings. Close to Hocking Hills and other surrounding activities and natural beauty. The lake is glorious! Will be back!

Cozy little cabin with easy access to ohio university and hocking hills! The owners were very accommodating and responsive to all our needs! Clean, private, and all the amenities needed for the weekend! The hottub and fire pit were a bonus for winding down the day! Looking forward to our next stay!

Quiet very relaxing
Our stay was great. The cabin, hot tub and the peace and quit was just what we needed. This cabin is located close to a lot of hiking trails. We sat in the hot tub at night and watched meteors streak across the sky. There is not much light pollution so the stars were very bright.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful area
We were staying here due to being displaced from our home. The owners were very kind and accommodating to what they could be. Our family would have loved to stay the entire time we are out of our house here but it’s rented for every weekend for a very long time. But, the hot tub was nice and the yard, too. Overall, we enjoyed it. Comfortable beds. No issues but the upstairs tub drained really slow. Still 5/5 stars! Definitely would recommend staying here to my family/friends. Growing up in this area I have always appreciated the atmosphere around lake hope. Such a beautiful place. Thanks for having us!

Great place to unwind.
First and foremost, Lauren and Andy were amazing hosts! They were available to answer questions and help in a couple of situations. There had been some rain during the week and as my husband and I were leaving, we got stuck in some mud alongside the driveway. After letting Andy and Lauren know that we were still there and waiting on AAA, Andy came out with his truck and rescued us. He was so kind about it, not making us feel like silly city folk.😄 The cabin itself was wonderful. This was the perfect get-a-way for our family. We had nothing scheduled and plenty to do. The cabin was spacious and comfortable, inside and out. We were able to start our day on the deck, with coffee. The natural habitat was a great stage to watch hummingbirds, butterflies and. Dragonflies. During the day, we enjoyed Hocking hills, lake hope State park and trails behind the cabin. In the early evening, we took advantage of the pond, fishing, watching turtles and listening to the frogs. Games and family movie nights finished out most of our days. The rooms were comfortable. We usually try new locations and properties for our vacations but my husband and I, as well as my son and daughter-in-law, agreed that this would be worth visiting again in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Fun in Hocking Hills
We stayed at this cabin for 3 nights. I had my 2 daughters and 4 grand kids ranging from 8-13 with me. It was our first time in Hocking Hills/area and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and plenty of space for our family of 7. Check in, check out process was quick and easy. The kitchen was well equipped. We had lunches on the front deck, dinners we enjoyed in the beautiful town of Athens. The location of the cabin was perfect to visit Old Man’s cave, Ash cave, Cedar Falls and other attractions. Each were about a 30 min drive through beautiful country. Athens was 10-15 min. drive. Drove to town of Logan on Friday but a number of stores were closed. Grandson enjoyed fishing in the pond even though he never caught anything. Adults and granddaughters liked sitting in the clean, comfortable hot tub. Had a small bonfire to make s’mores while listening to an owl hoot in tree right behind the cottage. Walked the groomed trails behind the cabin. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we all would recommend Andy and Lauren’s cabin.

Great vacation
Loved how the cottage had trees that made it hidden from the road. Clean, comfortable and homey with a nice kitchen. The downstairs bathroom needs a few maintenance things done and I bet they’ll be taken care of quickly. The jacuzzi was a definite plus. Even though the cottage is pet friendly, there was no evidence from smell or hair that animals had stayed there. The fishing pond could also use some TLC. All and all, it was a wonderful choice for our vacation in Hocking Hills.

After we went up to Michigan's upper peninsula to see pictured rocks we then came to here to visit hocking hills SP. The cabin was the best part of our honeymoon. Great place to stay
My family of 4 plus our black lab loved the cabin and its location. We were in the area for my daughters orientation at OU, the cabin was only about 14 min drive from campus. We enjoyed the bon fires and fishing at the pond where my son caught several kinds of fish and we saw multiple turtles. We also enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife from the big windows in the front room.

3rd annual men’s weekend.
This is a time for all of us guys who work Motor City Comic Con in May to gather together and share our experiences. The cabin is perfect. Great location. Secluded and quiet yet close enough for a scenic drive into Athens, Ohio. Nice hot tub and private lake on the property. Great campfire area with plenty of chairs. The owners are fantastic and I’m looking forward to booking this again next year.

Hocking Hills
The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable (upstairs). Living room furniture was comfortable- which is not always the case in rentals. We really liked the ability to do laundry. There were nice touches throughout. They even supplied sheets to cover the furniture and beds for the dogs. We thought the decking need attention and a bit more light in the bathrooms would be great. The location is about 30 minutes from Hocking Hills park and Lake Logan. If you want dining options nearby Athens is the closest city which is 20 - 25 minutes away.

We are glad you enjoyed our cabin! We try to make everything comfortable for our guests. We are 19 miles (25 minute drive) from Ash Cave, southernmost of the Hocking Hills attractions. Turn right out of the driveway and you run right into it. We are 10 miles from Athens (15 minute drive). Turn left out of the driveway and it leads you right to the heart of town on same road. Not really sure what attention the deck needs, but we will certainly have a look.

Quiet Retreat
We had a great time staying at this property. The setting was ideal with the wetlands and pond nearby. We saw lots of different birds and the frogs serenaded us in the evenings. The house was comfortable and provided everything we we needed. The owners were very responsive and helpful with all questions posed. I would highly recommend this property.

OU Mom's weekend visit
Great place to stay for our weekend visiting kids at OU. Beautiful property. Wish it had been a bit nicer so we could have enjoyed to outside more. It was a perfect location for 15-20 minute drive to places (Athens / Nelsonville / Hope Lodge). We will try to stay here again if available. Note: our Verizon service didn't work at all while on the property. WiFi worked great but when the power went out we felt really disconnected. Fortunately they do have a landlines. Owners answered when we called and were a great help.

Great Weekend Stay
The house was amazing and everything was just like the pictures. The hot tube didn’t look right when we first got there. We reached out to the owners and they immediately came out to fix it. Best service. We were able to watch the Super-Bowl from the hot tube using our projector. Area felt secluded, which is what we wanted. Would definitely come back again.

Nice relaxing stay
We enjoyed our weekend at this cabin especially being able to bring our dog. My favorite part was all of the various local artwork used to decorate - which is available for sale - great idea! Location was close to Athens where our son attends OU - nice to find a place closer than Logan or Hocking Hills where we usually stay when we visit him. Cabin is nothing fancy but had everything we needed and was clean. Only issue and word of warning that if you go in the winter, the family room is quite chilly - much more so than the rest of the cabin - the bedrooms are warm but there is quite a temperature difference between the rest of the cabin and the front/family room. It has an electric fireplace/space heater, but even with that you should pack some slippers and cozy clothes to wear if you plan to visit in the winter. It was quite cold the weekend we were there (in the 20s) so it's probably fine when it's more moderate weather. Overall nice stay and would recommend!

"Home Away From Home"
We visit these owners' properties at least once a year if not twice. They are always clean, cozy, and supplied with everything needed for a relaxing getaway. We never want for anything. We do bring a couple rolls of tp, paper towel, and whatnot to contribute. My 8 yo daughter calls the cabins our "home away from home," which is all the review I need to know we'll be back soon. 💚

We had a quiet few days in this remote cabin in the woods. It was about 20 minutes to Athens and 25 minutes to Hocking Hills hiking trails. We also spent a day just investigating the surrounding trails…and particularly enjoyed the hot tub. It had everything we needed to have a quick getaway from everyday life.

This property was clean and comfortable. The king size bed and en suite located on the second floor was the only bed we needed for our stay. The living room was comfortable and well situated. We enjoyed the hot tub as well. Our hostess was quick to answer questions. The drive to Hocking Hills is about 20-30 minutes. Due to rain on our only full day there we checked out some local stores In Logan including some that were participating in the Explore Hocking Hills Holiday Treasure Hunt.

Overall, this property was average. It is reminiscent of an old farmhouse with some renovations. The family room is very welcoming with comfortable furniture and we enjoyed movie night. The master bedroom is a loft which does not afford any privacy and all noises in the kitchen carry upstairs. The ceilings are sloped in both the bedroom and bathroom so it is not meant for tall adults, for kids it is fine. The kitchen has the basics except a dishwasher.

Our cabin is a custom build and is 20 years old. The master loft is spacious and provides plenty of headroom. My husband is 6’2 and he has no issues with the height of the ceiling. We feel three stars is unwarranted as our property is lovely and we take great pride in providing our guests with a wonderful stay.

Every thing was good. Has a surprise, a salamander on the kitchen floor. Put him outside. :) Nice and quiet. We did miss our ice maker and dishwasher. We could have liked steak knives and aluminum foil. But all was great! Lots of beautiful robins!

A Salamander?- how strange! The Waterloo area where we are located has a couple of different types of endangered salamanders in this region. The birds are indeed amazing too! We will add steak knives-thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Convenient location for Hocking Hills trails
We spent 5 days at this house/cabin and had a great time. It is convenient to get to the various Hocking Hills trails. When not hiking, the house is located in a very peaceful area with a great deck and hot tub. Clean house with all the things needed to be feel at home.

A nice place to stay in the country.
Secluded yet close to a main state route. Hot tub was excellent and clean. Nice furnishings inside and plenty of chairs outdoors near the fire ring. The only thing that bothers me is that in reading the check out procedure it says we were required to strip the beds and gather the towels. First time in our lives of travel that we were expected to begin the cleaning process, especially since there was an $80 cleaning fee as part of the rental agreement. I'm sure it was somewhere in the multi page rental agreement but I missed it. Also the screen door has large holes in it that permit the stink bugs to enter the house. I understand that bugs are part of nature but we had to put up with them inside the house because of the holes in the screen door.

We are glad that you enjoyed our cabin! Our cleaners do an outstanding job to make a clean and inviting experience for our guests. We do ask that the wet towels be put into the bathtubs to minimize potential water damage to flooring and other surfaces. We also ask that the used beds be stripped to guarantee fresh sheets for the next guests, which has always worked very well and is common practice. We have taken care of the stink bugs. This is the time of year when they seek refuge inside of structures.
