This was one of the strangest booking/check in experiences I've had in 15 years using VRBO. The apartment we stayed in was great, the parking was perfect. However, it was quite literally not the place listed on VRBO. I didn't hear from the host until less than 24 hours before check in which caused concern. Since we were on a road trip, we were keeping a loose travel plan so we could stop on a whim. That changed with this check-in because we had to commit to our arrival time to meet Cody outside of the building to gain access. The owners' reason to change from the booked unit seemed plausible on the surface, but given that some other reviewers gave similar feedback, it doesn't all click. We stayed in an apartment in a building that has rules against short term rentals and we were instructed, if asked, to not acknowledge that we were on a VRBO contract. While we had zero problems in the end, it set an uncomfortable tone to start with. Once I sorted how to use the street car system, the distance difference of the location was not a big deal, only a few blocks. As I said - the apartment we stayed in was great (clean, bright, roomy), and since we were road tripping, the parking was an important factor and perfect. But since this review is actually for a different location than the one listed on VRBO, the communication was cutting it uncomfortably close to check-in, and the circumstances of the change was uneasy, I cannot rate it higher.
