A Hostile and Alarming Experience – Stay Away from Mike and Candy’s PlaceWhat was supposed to be a joyful wedding weekend and vacation with my children turned into an incredibly stressful and disturbing experience at Mike and Candy’s rental in Florida.Upon arrival, I informed Mike—clearly and directly—that it would be me and my three children staying. He responded politely at the time, even asking their ages and engaging in friendly conversation. Everything seemed fine—until it wasn’t.The next evening, after running a quick errand, I returned to find Mike in the laundry area. Without warning, he confronted me aggressively, sticking his finger in my face and yelling, “I told you—NO KIDS!” I was shocked. I calmly reminded him that I had disclosed this information the day before upon arrival. He ignored that entirely and insisted, with visible anger, that “the post said no kids.”I immediately offered to leave if he would refund my payment, to which he coldly replied he would charge me for two nights and a cleaning fee. The situation felt unhinged. Something about Mike's behavior was off. While we remained in the home temporarily, I began to notice unsettling things—items moved when we returned from outings, an eerie feeling of being watched. It was invasive and downright creepy.Thankfully, I was in a financial position to secure a hotel for myself and my children—so we had a safe place to stay while awaiting a refund.
