Good: location Bad: room. Window without view. Central heating could not be adjusted so airco had to be on (in December!). Bath water tap leaked pooring. One morning no hot water for showering. Toilet leaked during flushing. No water kettle.

Vanwege de Locatie prima
De Lokatie was geweldig, vlakbij Times Square en Metro Stations. De Service van het personeel was prima, comfort wat men minimaal ma verwachten maar de staat van onderhoud in het Hotel was behoorlijk achterstallig. Voor een Stedentrip (voor ons) geen probleem, we waren allen in het htel om te slapen en te douchen. Dat was OK en de ligging was super, verder hebben we niet gekeken :-)

De ligging is echt FANTASTISCH, als je buiten komt 20 meter naar links zit je op 8th Ave, en naar rechts 100 meter zit je op Broadway, dus praktisch om de hoek van Times Square. Om met de subway te gaan ideaal, alle verschillende lijnen stoppen in de buurt op loopafstand. De kamers zijn erg klein maar dat is voor NY standaard volgens mij normaal. Het was ook wat verouderd, maar de ligging en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel bij de receptie maakte alles goed. Er was zover ik weet 24/7 iemand bij de receptie, ze waren erg behulpzaam ook

Het ligt op een geweldige lolatie. Het behang in de kamers is echt lachwekkend leuk. De lift is grappig en het personeel aller vriendelijkst!! Maar het is super oud met achterstallig onderhoud. Vies tapijt en kleine kamers. Ze gaan nieuwe vloerbedekking leggen, dus.....

Mayfair: leuk oud hotel
Het Mayfair is een wat ouder hotel in hartje Manhattan mid-town. Times Square is om de hoek. Hulpvaardig personeel. Onze kamer was klein en aan de voorkant. Prima voor 2 nachten.

Authentiek hotel, zeer centraal gelegen
Als uitvalsbasis (halve minuut loopafstand van Time Square) is hotel Mayfair een prima hotel om de stad te ontdekken. Bedden zijn prima, service is goed en badkamer ziet er keurig uit. Het hotel maakt hier en daar een wat sleetse indruk, maar prijs-kwaliteit staat goed in verhouding tot elkaar!

Een gezellig hotel, dichtbij Times Square.
Na de goede service van Expedia mochten we door een complicatie alsnog inchecken. Ik zou dit hotel zeker aanbevelen aan andere mensen.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Had a back room which was quiet. Very close to time square and major theatres, situated next to the book of mormon. Hotel itself is run down, threadbare carpet etc but its fine if you all you want is a bed for the night.

Small, tiny and windowless
The Hotel is very old and worn down. The rooms are so tiny you can't almost find room for your bags. Also, the windows were covered and unable to open. I thought they had bedbugs as my skin turned red and itchy after the first night. I've never been allergic to anything but i actually think there was something there that just didn't sit right with me. We changed hotels after a few nights and the redness and itch was gone at once. Mayfair has friendly staff and a wonderful italian resturant, but as a whole i would not recommend this hotel. It doesn't feel clean and fresh and those two qualities are high on my list when determing which hotel to chose.

This wouldn't be for everybody. Elevators don't always stop on the floor, you had to have the front desk get ice from the restaurant....but I wanted a New York experience....and this was EXACTLY what I wanted. Loved it. Great staff. Room was small, but again... that's what I wanted!

I knew it was an older hotel, but i like historic. However, wall paper was falling off in my room and TV was locked behind a glass enclosure. Felt a bit sketchy. Luckily the sheets were clean.

Very quaint. One elevator that is rickety enough to cause concern that it probably breaks down regularly enough. (Wasn't scary or a fear it would break down at anytime--just that it probably does happen.) Nice bathroom and good soap. Some room-specific disappointments show a potential overall lack-of-attention: clock wasn't plugged in and set (and the radio function broken); desk worklight inoperable; toilet seat did not stay up. Bed comfy and room, although tiny, is worth the tradeoff for location and price.

Hot as Hades
The room was stifling hot and there was no temperature control. I spoke to the front desk and was told to turn on the air conditioner, which was several feet over my head, above the window. The remote for the AC did not work, so the desk gave me new batteries - which also didn’t work. I stood on the edge of the bed and tried punching buttons. They were barely in reach and I couldn’t read what each one did (they were both faded and above my eyeline even when I stood on the bed). On the first night, the AC unit rumbled and roared so loudly, I couldn’t sleep. So I turned it off and slept on top of the covers - in January! The second night, I managed to find a quieter setting so instead of two hours sleep, I managed four and a half. NYC was in the middle of a heat wave, so there was no reason to run the heat at all this weekend. I had been told after night one that they wouldn’t run it the following night. Well, they did. I expected the room to be basic as the building is old, but I couldn’t make it work for me.

Terrível, cuidado! Não recomendo.
Não recomendo. O hotel é velho, muito velho, mal conservado, coisas básicas como saboneteira quebrada, espelho trincado, carpete descolando, teto caindo, o que mostra uma falta de cuidado incrível. A localização é excelente, você está na esquina da times com acesso a várias linhas de metrô, porém investindo um pouco mais você consegue coisa melhor. Cuidado se você sofre de alergia, o hotel não tem uma boa ventilação, estivemos no inverno, eles aquecem muito o quarto, o local fica igual uma estufa, a janela não abre e tem um ar condicionado que parecia que nunca foi limpo e barulhento, adoeci no primeiro dia da chegada. Agora a pior parte pra mim superando todos os pontos acima foi o atendimento, as recepcionistas em momento algum foram simpáticas, incrível, pois quando você não tem uma boa infraestrutura no mínimo você tem que compensar no bom e acolhedor atendimento, já no check in elas seguraram todos os quartos até o horário de 15:00hrs, fica uma fila de hóspedes cansados esperando o quarto, que poderiam ter sido liberados de acordo com o final da limpeza, o nosso ainda foi entregue com 20 minutos de atraso. O hotel tem a coragem de cobrar uma taxa de resort, sim resort, inacreditável pela infraestrutura oferecida. Mesmo cobrando está taxa de resort no momento do checkout foi cobrado o valor de 2$ por mala guardada, independente de ser uma mochila ou mala ou pelo tempo, elas cobram. Pedimos uma hora a mais, para organização das malas e também nos foi negado, terrível

Small room but great location.
This hotel is in a great location — within walking distance of most of the touristy things and the subway. The room itself is small but mostly comfortable. I don’t know if the single is large enough for two people but it was perfect for a solo traveler. My only negative with the room was that there wasn’t a way to control the heat. A staff person advised that I would need to turn on the AC if I wanted to cool the room. However, the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were tidy, so I would recommend.
