Lovely property
The house was exactly as listed and equipped beautifully. The kitchen and living area was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and Karen left a thoughtful welcome oackage. The theee bedrooms were fine although not huge. We would stay again for sure.

Sun trap heaven
Excellent property in a fabulous location if you’re looking for peace and quiet to get away from it all. We were lucky enough to have great weather and the deck area is a sun trap heaven. Would definitely recommend.

Family Getaway
My wife and I stayed in Settlers Rest from Sunday 3- Friday 9 July 2022 with our 10week old son along with 3 grandparents….it was a great place for us to relax but also explore some of the towns and coastal areas Northumberland has to offer. Karen and Fara were excellent hosts to communicate with and very generously left a welcome gift for us but also for our newborn son - very thoughtful gesture! The Lodge itself was spacious with large open plan area with kitchen and lounge. It was ideal for what we were looking for. The outside decking was also good for us all to relax and enjoy some evening meals and drinks. The hot tub was cleaned on daily basis and on the one instance when we felt it looked ‘cloudy’, Karen organised maintenance to sort it quickly. The only downside, through no fault of Karen and Fara, was that the Coach House was only open for 2 days during our stay from Sunday - Friday. William De Percy, however, in Otterburn is well worth going to for a meal or lunch - we did both! It is only about 10-15min walk into Otterburn. We also had a meal at Redesdale Arms in Rochester which was about 3mile drive - we had a very nice meal here also. We would not hesitate on booking up to stay at Settlers Rest in the future. Scott, Jill, Baby Ollie and Grandparents!

Perfect long weekend
Lovely lodge which owner had decorated for Halloween! Stayed with 3 generations of family for a wedding nearby but the lodge gave us the added opportunity of a long weekend in the country too, and the hot tub was an added bonus! Well equipped and furnished, can’t fault the property.

Celebrating Ruby Wedding Anniversary
A lovely spacious property, well appointed with good quality appliances and furnishings, Very clean and nicely decorated. Karen was extremely efficient and lovely to deal with, there was a welcome basket. We even had chocolates, wine and card left for our 40th wedding anniversary which was a lovely gesture. Amazing!!
We have just returned from our stay and we are missing it already! The communication with the host was 5*. The lodge had everything and more you could ask for and the outdoor space and hot tub were well enjoyed by us all. Our little girl loved putting food out for the birds and squirrels. Beautiful lodge
Lovely to get away from it all at this beautiful lodge. Very clean and modern interior with all home comforts (although we had to buy a couple of pans as the ones provided were quite damaged) and loved the African themed decor. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. Site very quiet but visited pub in village and Coach House on site. Location very rural and quite a long drive to visit some of the tourist spots such as Alnwick, Holy Island & Bamburgh. However can’t fault the lodge and the quick response of the owners to any questions. Overall a nice relaxing break during these challenging times!

R&R IN LUXURY
Female friends celebrating 50th birthdays put on hold due to Covid. Brilliant. From the outset communication with Allison and Fara was excellent. The lodge is roomy, contemporary and incredibly clean and comfortable. Location perfect, right in the middle of dark sky country with some lovely walks. We did the Village loop on Saturday and really enjoyed the scenery. Spent our breakfasts watching red squirrels and an array of small birds which visited the feeders. Every night we relaxed in the hot tub which was cleaned and maintained each day. The other reviews are true it really was a 5* experience. Two Coeliac in group, don't go to William de Percy try The Coach House on the estate.

Settlers lodge sept 2020
Perfect lodge for a beautiful getaway to explore Northumberland! Very clean spacious lodge with everything you need for family stay! The lodge park is private and quiet in woodlands but within walking distance to the local village. The hot tub and outdoor area was perfect! Good communication with the owners for booking, and any queries whilst there! Highly recommend for a family or a group.

Incredible!
What an amazing trip! From the minute we walked through the door we were blown away at how incredible this lodge was, with all that is going on in the world this lodge was perfect to just sit back and have a stress free weekend. Not to mention how great Fara and Karen were, they made our trip hassle free and had a welcome hamper filled with little treats waiting on the bench for when we had arrived so a big thank you to them! Such a homely property and will certainly be returning!

Loved everything about it
Luxury is certainly one word for this property. It has everything you need for a relaxing time away. The hot tub was amazing! The place is beautifully decorated and comfortably fits 6 people. The beds are extremely comfortable. I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again.

An amazing lodge with a lovely owner. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a gift basket which was a lovely touch. The property was equipped to a high standard including the kitchen. Fantastic stay, we really couldn’t have asked for more! Made to feel at home, straight away.
Beautifully located cabins makes it a lovely stay, right by the quaint village of Otterburn, and the picturesque lakeside nearby. We were greeted by rainy weather, and snow, but were quite content, staying warm inside (or in the hot tub!) with our welcome hamper basket, some board games, and comfort. Thanks again!

Perfect for our pre Christmas ‘chill’
I can not recommend this place highly enough. After a nightmare of a start (unrepairable nail in the tyre as we were leaving for our trip and a need to borrow a car on the last minute ), we finally arrived. A super kind welcome hamper really was a lovely touch to cheer us up and made a great start to our relaxing break. Everything we needed was present within the lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit from start to end. We originally booked the lodge to accommodate us whilst we visited the winter wonderland experience...but after having such a lovely, relaxing time, we are looking to return again in the summer time. Relaxation was a high priority and we certainly made the most of our stay. We enjoyed some great meals (the kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals for my greedy bunch), we had some family games on the Wii, we watched films and of course RELAXED in the hot tub. Amazing
Amazing does not cover this property. From beginning to end Fara and Karen have been in communication with us. Any query you have is answered within minutes. The little touches they do, like the welcome hamper ( which was fabulous) to the birthday gift for our dad are just lovely extra touches and made our break even more special. The location is beautiful, the hot tub fabulous. This is one of those places you want to let the whole world know about because it is so amazing. Red squirrels and the birds every morning sat eating the food provided by Fara and Karen were just lovely to watch. Thank you so much for making this trip so special. If you are thinking of visiting Northumberland the lodge is central and about an hour from most places so ideal for visiting locations. Holy Island, Jedburgh, Alnwick, Banburgh all within easy reach and then back to relax at the lodge. Don’t even consider anywhere else, just book the lodge you will not be disappointed.

We enjoyed an excellent stay while attending a friends wedding in the area. Communications with the owners was excellent, information received made finding the lodge simple. Loved every minute!
We have had a wonderful week at Settlers. The property itself is beautiful and we have loved the hot tub!! It is an ideal base to explore the stunning county of Northumberland. The Coach House, which is two minutes walk away, serves gorgeous food and is very reasonably priced. We hope to stay at Settlers again in the future.

What a beautiful place to stay with everything you could possibly need. It’s an ideal place to stay to just relax or visit local places . Beaming, lindesfarm bamburgh castle all within about an hours drive. The facilities are all of a very high standard and the owners should be proud of all their thought and hard work

Beautiful lodge with everything you need and more.
We had a lovely relaxing time at the lodge. It was very clean and tastefully decorated and well maintained. The surroundings are peaceful with a few nice places to eat nearby and some lovely. There were plenty of games to keep the little ones entertained, not to mention the hot tub which was fab and lovely and warm at night when the temperature dropped. We will definitely be returning!

Excellent accommodation and location
4 of us had the best weekend celebrating my birthday. The lodge is extremely comfortable and there were so many extra touches provided (eg milk, tea, coffee, fizz, biscuits etc!) to make the stay even more special. The hot tub made it even more perfect. Will definitely be back.

Stunning lodge, in a lovely location
We are 5 friends that do a hot tub lodge weekend, once a year every year. The lodge is beautiful and very well stocked. The hot tub is perfect. We ate, drank and hot tubbed to the max. A particular hit was the bottomless brunch at the Coach House, situated a two minute walk from the lodge. Everything is well maintained, the walks breath taking, we saw many red squirrels, a real treat for me. The hot tub is checked daily. A fantastic weekend was had by all

We did so much in real comfort and still have plenty to do on future holidays.
The lodge is modern, well equipped, solid & warm, well appointed and the beds very comfortable. The area is beautiful, 15 min walk to the charming village. While we’re were there extremely strong winds hit the area, but the lodge is strong and the site well sheltered, not a problem. All mod-cons and we will certainly consider coming back to this area and this lodge. Really enjoyed our time there.

Loved it!
We had a wonderful stay at settlers the lodge was beautiful and had everything we needed ...we visited lots of places in Northumberland forgot how picturesque it was! Would definitely love to return!

Beautiful lodge in a beautiful place
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fantastic lodge (despite the weather!) It is new, modern, spacious and very well equipped to a high standard. We particularly loved the hot tub! The lodge is in a lovely location in the Northumberland countryside and within easy driving distance of plenty things to keep the whole family occupied (would recommend the Hexham Treasure Hunt Trail). The owners were very helpful and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely go back!
