Really enjoyed ourselves the staff where amazing and the food was fantastic, highly recommended the fish and chip friday for 2 only thing that put us off was the long walk to the basement hotel rooms which you also hear the pipework in use when others are using water, apart from that the room itself was fantastic with nice amenities but for the price we paid could have been slightly better, thank you for the loverly stay we cant wait to return

Pleasant stay
Pleasant stay with my son. Quiet and with multiple food options. Not far from town with free parking. Rooms with a bit of character. Italian restaurant next door dealt with or allergies well.

Not as good as usual
I usually enjoy my stay at the Roker Hotel but my ground floor room was chilly as there was no heating in it and there was no wifi signal at all… in fact I couldn’t get 4G either which meant I could do my work in my room.

Manager took £150 from credit card that was used for the deposit. Stating that the lads had been smoking in the room. The lads who stayed there do not smoke. Beware of this scam as they then refuse to refund.

Best pillows ever!
Best pillows ever, however on going I tot the room there was a strong smell of weed, as it was midnight we didn’t tell staff til the morning but they were aware as other guests had said the same.front desk staff were really good and helpful, room was good other than above.

Had a great visit to this hotel staff were fabulous and would really like to give a big shout out to the member of the cleaning team as we could not find our car key but a staff went above and beyond to stop it spoiling our stay thank you so much

Don't stay sat if wanting quiet nights
On arrival check in was ok , went to see room , tiny , went back to desk and explained I didn't book the ( small comfort room ) but a normal double , was told not much difference ! , asked if we could pay to upgrade , desk manager said we could upgrade and pay for one night which was kind of him , then told us would be a disco that night until 11.30 ish , unfortunately wish we had been made aware before booking as we were unable to cancel booking and get refund as already checked in , Room was better but not a very large room, we went down to restaurant and had a wonderful meal , best part of hotel the food was great Unfortunately on returning to room disco had started and omg !! The noise was horrendous , room was directly above bar and was like we were in disco , extremely loud with massive base , could not listen to TV , nor get to sleep , went on till almost midnight , at one point told husband I wanted to leave hotel , Breakfast on the Sunday was buffet style and ran out of hot food twice , out for day on returning to room was a bug on bed , did tell desk on checkout , was asked to email pic over but not heard anything from them ! Breakfast Monday morning was served , if you're hungry then it's not going to fill you , Literally one of each item , sausage , egg , bacon , beans ,only half tomato,, the Xmas decs were lovely which was nice to see , Overall nice hotel ,restaurant meals were lovely , need to let you know on booking if disco etc

We liked everything but the food. Really stunted/limited choice. Same menu lunch and evening. 2nd night had steak pie, I've bought better ones in Lidl, it was dry, hard over cooked. Veg were so obviously done in microwave, like chewing rubber. We went as a couple but ended up eating separately as we had to wait for a second serving, not much better than first. After paying good money for half board expected better than that. Ill not be staying there again, sad, because rooms were excellent. Perhaps separate menus and a decent, experienced chef would help

An interesting hotel for an overnight business trip. Staff were very friendly, received a complimentary drink, room & decor wasn't the usual bland chain hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
