cottage was clean - caretaker and rental company were helpful. Not all pics were true representation of cottage. Cottage is a bit neglected by owner. The location beautiful! Overall, enjoyed our stay!

A slice of Heaven
The cottage was just the right size for the two of us the photos were very accurate. The location was perfect for privacy and the property could not have been any closer to the beautiful beach. We enjoyed sunning on the outer deck overlooking the turquoise water and the cooling calm breeze gently rustling the palm trees above. The wooden staircase from the deck leads the soft sandy beach. This was our third trip to the island so we were familiar with places to eat, grocery and gas station in Governor's Harbour about 20 min from cottage. Our new drop in favorite places with nice outside decks and beautiful views are Tippy’s on Banks Rd and Sunset Inn appropriately named, off Queens Hwy. French Leave restaurant, is pricey but high end romantic meal with views from their deck. Get out and explore the island, the people are friendly and always feel safe here. I recommend renting a jeep or 4 wheel drive vehicle the off roads get bumpy! Thank you Pink Sand Cottage until we meet again!

A little slice of heaven
Our time at the Pink Sand Cottage was exactly the reset and restorative experience we needed. There were miles of empty beach in either direction for our walks every day, hours of sitting and reading while listening to the ocean, and wonderful restaurants only a short drive away. The bed was very comfy, the outdoor shower a delight, and there was some used but usable snorkeling gear available. Two things to keep in mind if you stay here: 1) the water system is on a cistern so the water is undrinkable. Be sure to stop at either the Eleuthera Supply store or Burrows grocery in Governors Harbor to stock up on drinking water. We went through about a gallon and a half a day for two adults for coffee and drinking water. 2) The no-seeums are out whenever the breeze stops day and night. Our herbal bug repellent was completely ineffective so you'll have to use a heavy-duty spray. It's available at the local stores for a hefty charge ($14 os so), but if you have to buy it there do it! 3) The power goes out on the island quite frequently and there is no generator so consider bringing a car phone charger with you to keep your devices charged. It usually comes back on in a few hours but this happened 3 times in the 6 days we were there. Part of the price of going so remote! The property manager was very available and responsive so we always felt we had the support we needed. We'll definitely go back!

We are very glad you enjoyed your stay, but sorry the noseeums bothered you. They are definitely not always a problem. They come and go. Here is our advice about noseeums, which you can also find in our FAQs: If they are present at all, they will come out at dusk and in the evening, so they won’t be a problem during the day. The most foolproof preventative is a pair of long pants and socks, because they go after legs and ankles. The evenings are usually comfortable, so you can wear long pants outside if necessary. Another popular solution is to cover your legs and ankles with baby oil. The little bugs can’t bite through a layer of oil. The bite of a noseeum is not very bothersome, but don't make the mistake of ignoring them. If they are out, as soon as you feel the first little bite, put on your long pants and socks, or your baby oil, or go inside. Otherwise, if you are allergic to their bites, you will wake up the next day with many itchy bumps on your legs.

Nice cottage and pleasant stay.
My wife and I enjoyed our 7-night stay at Pink Sand Cottage. We did not use or even turn on the TV, but all appliances were in good working order. The cottage showed some wear but that didn't take away from our enjoyment at all. We did not use the available kayak nor the snorkeling equipment. The snorkeling equipment was high quality but I brought my own. When we were there the surf was a little strong for my skill level and I did not snorkel for long. On the somewhat downside, there are stairs to the front and rear. Both were a little problematic to our 70+ year old legs. The beach, or ocean side steps do not have a railing. The steps leading to the kitchen entrance have a railing but are rather steep and the first step up is very high. I placed a concrete block at the bottom which made it easier. Although there was a base for a smoke detector, no detector was installed. The welcome letter, from Eleuthera Vacation Rentals stated there was a "pay as you go" cell phone on site, this was not provided and the property manager was not aware a phone was offered. All things considered we would definitely return; the location is very quiet and the sound of the waves were wonderful. FYI - we brought frozen meat and other staples to reduce the cost of restaurants and groceries, everything is expensive. We ate out for most lunches though. Have fun!

Beautiful spot.
The house was just right for us. I did not consider that being on the Atlantic side meant a nice breeze most of the time which helped keep the no-see-ums at bay. Also loved the snorkeling right off the beach. A trip to 10 Bay Beach convinced us that we were on the better side of the island. Absolutely beautiful!!!

This cottage was exactly as we left it last year. There is nothing you need to bring. This property has it all! The best beach is just outside the front door- it simply does not get any better. Very Special Place!
Romantic cottage in perfect location! All the necessities… however larger coffee pot would be nice as we are the type that sip our morning brew taking in the beautiful surroundings. The only thing I wished for was a better mattress, it was soft without much support and pillows need immediate updates. Hoping when we return … otherwise 5stars. Wonderful Winter Getaway!
We stayed at Pink Sand Cottage for a week in mid-January. Ken had sent us all of the info (plus some) prior to our arrival and was quick to respond with any questions we had - along with some great recommendations which we followed & loved. January is still winter in the Bahamas so we had some windy weather & rough seas but it was literally the exact opposite on the Caribbean side. The central location on the island made it easier to get around to all of the things we wanted to see. Ken was able to set us up with a rental car contact & we had no issues with that process either. Overall, Pink Sand Cottage is a lovely little island spot that has what you need to set down a home base as you explore everything that Eleuthera has to offer (which is a lot)! Close to good food, great beaches, and private enough to make you feel like you are all alone on a little oasis!

Anniversary retreat
This is our second stay at this property and our 6th stay on Banks Road. The location is convenient to fabulous beaches, restaurants, the Island Farm and the Queens Highway. The house is located on a beautiful beach with several areas to sit, relax and enjoy the view. The stars gazing from the deck is amazing. Ken was very helpful and we will definately be back.

Darling beachfront cottage-awesome location!
We love this part of Eleuthera and this rustic cottage was the perfect locale for enjoying the spectacular beaches and sites of central Eleuthera. Just far enough from Governers Harbour to be completely private and yet close enough to enjoy the restaurants and shopping of in-town and the surfing beaches to the north. Great trip!

House is freshly painted and furniture and everything very clean and lovely. Air conditioning worked. We opened windows and had fresh air part of the time. Plenty of towels at the house. We snorkeled off the front of the cottage every day. We did a 2 hour trip with eleuthera adventures that was excellent. We rented car from Suzanne the housekeeper and that worked fine. Password for the internet has changed. Be sure to ask for that. We had to reset the internet several times but it worked fine when we did. Reservations at Tippys Saturday and Wednesday when they have music. Ask for table for 2 with view of ocean. Packing: 2 pair fins at the house are adjustable and worked great. bring socks to avoid blisters. bring shampoo, mosquito repellent, aftersun moisturizer. Mosquitoes were only problem early morning on front porch.

Peaceful Paradise
The views from the cottage were beautiful and listening to the sound of the waves put us right to sleep every night! There was an issue with the internet, but Sue, the property manager, was able to get it up and running the next day. We snorkeled in a few spots around the island and thought that right outside the cottage was just as good as–if not better than– anywhere else we explored. The beach was pretty secluded, but there were people around at different times of the day–sometimes we would be the only people anywhere around and other times there were beach walkers and/or an occasional family in the distance. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the outdoor shower and hammock in the yard!! We highly recommend Pink Sands Cottage if you are looking for low-key relaxation away from the more populated areas.

Although it is right on the beach and very private, it is very worn and needs refurbishing.
The only choice available when asked if we enjoyed our stay was yes or no. In reality, it was mixed. The location on the Atlantic was good and the beach had a great swimming area and there were very few people which was good. However, the cottage is worn and the photos are dated and misleading. The bed, bedding, towels, light bulbs, chaise lounge pads, beach chairs, etc etc all need replacing. Also, the litter on the sides of the road on Eleuthera is disturbing.

All has been taken care of at cottage I( ken) have had health issues and it been over was a year since i have been able to get down new chair pads stove and tv have been installed we have no contol over road debris You should address that with the town officials we do try hard to keep things up to date quite frankly I think maybe your the kind of person who is very hard to satify Come back again stay at another location maybe but for what you paid we certainly offer value ken

Everything you need for a remote yet accessible getaway!
My wife and I loved our stay at the Pink Sands Cottage. The property is well managed and we loved every second of our stay on Eleuthera. It was exactly as we were expecting. A lot of privacy, beautiful beaches, beautiful property. Not the fanciest property in the world, but definitely a great value for the cost.

Just as advertisted
Pink Sand Cottage is just as stated and like the photos. It is small but worked perfect for the 2 of us. It was clean and very good dish TV It is located right on the Ocean with Several step down to the beach. The week we were there the sea was some what rough. The beach has a lot of rocks right out in the water so the area right in front of the Cottages is not the best for swimming . You can walk 10 to 15 mins to the right or left and find a sand bottom for swimming. You will want to explore other beaches and their are many and this is a very good location. We didn't have a hard time finding the place but nobody explained you would drive down a 1 lane road and then off pavement. At one point your vechile will be brushed by foliage growing on each side. I would recommend a SUV but a car can make it Not much parking. It has an old but workable gas stove we never tried the oven. Bring Matches It has a public type open char coal grill. I'm a webber gas guy but use the no cover grill and it worked fine. The owner was available by email and probally phone and had a local person. You should plan on eating in as not very many resturants and very very $$$$. The owner is a piece of work and should get someone else to email for him. It has 2 beach towels but thin an worn out You need to buy toilet paper, Paper towels and trash bags. No outside trash can as stated. you will need to take trash to the dump We went by it so we didn't mind. Charcoal if grilling.. All sorts of warning on water usage and washer only use once.a week We never had a problem but it worried me. I would not rent again just because of the Owner

There is a trash can on the side of the back steps and as far as myself (ken) I think this guest may need the services of a hotel on his next trip

Meerliebhaber Traumferien
Der Vermieter Ken, hat uns sehr freundlich nach der Buchung direkt kontaktiert und wir konnten ihn noch unklare Dinge fragen oder das Kayak dazu buchen. Das Pink Sand Cottage auf Eleuthera Bahamas wird uns immer in schönster Erinnerung bleiben. Wir verbrachten anfangs Oktober 2018 zwei Wochen im Haus. Es war wunderbar so nahe am Meer, beinahe schon mit dem Meer zu leben, die Sonnenaufgänge zu bestaunen und den Wellen am wunderschönen Strand zu zusehen. Es war einfach absolute Erholung pur für uns! Das Haus hat alles was man benötigt und war sehr sauber und sicher. Wir hatten nur zwei Mal kurz Stromausfall. Die Veranda und die Terrassen mit vier Sonnenliegen und Esstisch sind blickdicht zwischen Palmen und anderen exotischen Pflanzen eingebettet. Der Strand ist wunderschön Pink- Weiss und lädt zu Kilometer langen Spaziergängen ein. Man findet immer eine schöne Badebucht um die nächste Ecke oder per Auto auf der ganzen Insel verteilte Traumstrände. Die empfohlene Autovermietung von Ken war sehr gut und absolut weiter zu empfehlen. Während der ersten Woche (vor dem Hurrican Michael in West Florida), hatten wir sehr starken Wind, der hohe Wellen verursachte, jedoch bekamen wir sonst nichts vom Hurrican selbst mit. Danach war es bei uns absolut Windstill und richtig feucht- tropisch. An den letzten zwei Tagen erlebten wir leider noch das, worüber wir bereits vor der Reise viel lasen. Es war der einzige überhaupt negative Aspekt am ganzen Aufenthalt. Die berühmt berüchtigten kleinen Sandmücken und Mücken attackierten uns (trotz div. Moskitosprays etc.) mit unzählbaren Stichen, sie raubten uns regelrecht den Schlaf und vermiesten uns die letzten kostbaren Tage. Jedoch hat das nichts mit dem Haus selbst zu tun, lediglich mit der Strandnahen Lage. Hat man jedoch genügend Wind ist die Plage nicht zu spüren und es ist Frieden pur oder eben Freiheit, was der Name Eleuthera bedeutet. Die Inselbewohner waren sehr freundlich und winkten uns immer zu. Gerne hätten wir aktuelle Infos für die Insel im Haus vorgefunden, jedoch verstanden wir auch, dass dies nicht so einfach ist, da immer wieder Lokale dicht machen und die Reiseführer jährlich erneuert werden müssten... Dieses Haus und die Insel ist für zwei ruhe suchende Meer Fans absolut weiter zu empfehlen. Wir werden uns noch lange an die wunderschöne Aussicht ab der schönen Terrasse ins türkiesfarbene Meer zurück erinnern. Wir vermissen es jetzt schon... Thank you for all Ken. Michèle & Ralph

Beautiful setting on spectacular beach on Atlantic! Remote road along the beach was a little tough.
Had AC problems upon arrival that were resolved with a new unit the next day. Ken treated us to a nice dinner for our discomfort the first day. Nice! Setting was a beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach with great snorkeling and swimming. Saw a sea turtle feeding two days in a low tide pool along with fish and sea birds right at your door step. Power outages on the island are too often and need correcting or tourism will suffer. Very close to other beautiful beaches for exploring. Cottage had all the necessities, however, would have liked more luxury features(plush towels, bedding, etc). If you want the best natural beach experience, Pink Sand Cottage is the spot. Local people of Eleuthera are pleasant and charming. They seem to be happy with few luxuries. We could learn from them!

Wonderful Week!
My wife and I spent a week there and were completely swept away by the view from the cottage! We spent hours on the beach and only came across a few people all week. As luck would have it, Ken was there and gave us a warm welcome. The cottage was just as it's advertised, clean, and met all our needs. Anyone looking for relaxation, privacy, and the natural beauty of Eleuthera should definitely book a trip here! Thanks very much for sharing your place with us. Spectacular!
We just returned home last night from the most amazing stay at the Pink Sands Cottage. I can't recommend this place highly enough—Ken and Adele have created an ideal vacation destination. The cottage is cozy and clean, the setting offers complete privacy, and the beach is stunning. We will be back!

Secluded island getaway steps from the beach
This little beach cottage was the perfect secluded spot on the Atlantic side of this sweet island community. It had a well-stocked kitchen, a large bathroom, and the perfect porch and separate deck for ocean viewing and star-gazing. The local caretaker is a gem who helped us lease a car, fix a tepid fridge and give us advice. The house is two miles down a rustic road so a car is a must. Local stores are close for snacks and light breakfasts. Many cafes and restaurants are nearby for conch salad, conch fritters, and cracked conch. So great! Also eat a lot of lobster! It's the perfect location to be close to tasty food and what you need but also for secluded reading, snorkeling and just being.

We love this cottage
This is our second stay at Pink Sand Cottage and we loved it even more than our first stay. It is great to be able to just walk down the steps to the beach whenever you feel like it and it is a rare occasion (in off season) when you actually meet anyone else on this miles-long gorgeous pink sand beach. We find the central location gives us easy access to all of the rest of Eleuthera and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within a few minutes drive even though the cottage is in a very secluded location a couple of miles down Banks road from North Palmetto Point. Should there be any problems Ken and the housekeeper Sue are quick to respond. Problems here are a relative term, however, spend an evening on the porch listening to the surf and watching the myriad stars come out while the cruise ships sail off on the horizon and all the problems in the world simply melt away. The worst part about staying here is you eventually have to leave, but that gives you something to look forward to....the day when you can return. -Mouse

We were looking for simple, beautiful, private and seaside. Pink Sand Cottage was all that and more! We simply did not want to leave. We hope to be back!

Wonderful stay!
We had a great time in the Pink Sand Cottage. You won't find another home that stands closer to the water! The cottage is cute, clean, and has everything one might need. Beautiful front porch to enjoy your meals, well-equipped kitchen for cooking. Coral reef is right there too with beautiful fish, warm water, and pink sand. Hope to be back one day!

Ideal place for a couple that loves the ocean and beach.
Very enjoyable, relaxing place. The house has all the conveniences , there were no other people on the beach during our stay, and the ocean warm and fun to either bask in or spear fish....large trigger fish 150 yards from shore. Really a great place to stay if looking for peace and quiet, ocean sounds not withstanding of course. I recommend it!

Beauty, seclusion and awesome snorkeling!
We loved our vacation at the Pink Sand Cottage - the setting is gorgeous and very private, and after exploring other snorkeling spots on the island, we came to the conclusion that we have one of the best reefs right where we were! We snorkeled several times a day, took walks on the beach, sat in the beach chair with a book (or on the porch, or sun deck, or in the hammock under the palm trees) - ultimate vacation experience. A 5-star resort would not have provided such level of bliss!

The Perfect Spot
Everything we were looking for! Truly relaxing! Beautiful pink sand beach, fabulous view, loved the sun deck and the house was stocked with eveything we needed. Snorkeled right by the house! Loved the privacy yet it was convenient to local restaurants & a place to buy groceries. The night sky was beautiful too - we've never seen so many stars!

Very nice, very private, well maintianed.
The property was great. My wife and I honeymooned there and didn't want to leave. The cottage is well kept and clean. It has everything 2 people need. The shower was a bit small, but there's a giant outdoor one. The beach is very private. We saw people at a distance if at all. The last day there a family must have rented a property near by because we saw them down the beach. There were many days the beach was all yours. Be advise the beach has some bad rocksin some places. So I would recommend some type of water shoe if you go into the ocean. You should probably get a 4x4 rental to get to the cottage as it is down a "beach road". Besides going exploring is fun and the 4x4 will let you see the best part of the island. We had a wonderful time!!!

Thank you for. taking the time to write a review As for the 4x4. I must disagree with you as a car is fine to come down our beach road and also you will pay an extra 20 per day for one. I feel it's not worth the extra money before the road to our cottage was paved almost 3/4 up it was a good idea but not now..in our opinion however you guys are much younger than me. lol The indoor shower is not for 2 ( note for honeymooners ) but for one it's fine. :) We are very happy you are please with your stay and yes there are some spots that you will need water shoes to enter but also open areas where you can enter and exit the sea plus a great cove that's all sandy just south of the cottage about 300 yard All the best...do come back to Eleuthera ......Ken
