Charming and spacious private house located in South Berkeley. This house sits just 15 minutes away from San Francisco and 5 minutes from UC Berkeley. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and shower. You can also enjoy being outside as this house is just steps away from San Pablo park! Very clean and family friendly. No large gatherings or parties allowed.

The property was just as described. It had a lot of space and there was plenty on street parking. I only had 2 issues. I had zero response from the property manager until I contacted VRBO for help. I didn’t have check in info until I initiated my call. The other thing was that we had no internet service. All of the tv’s needed WiFi to work….so no television….which is normally fine but it was the NCAA basketball semi finals. The price point was right and a good value for the area.

Disappointed
Internet and tv did not work and host did not fix during our 2 night stay. No parking and needed to park down the street a block away due to busy ball field. Discarded furniture beside house in alleyway and outside area very shabby with old towels laying around. Dining chairs not suitable for adults. Host was hard to contact in advance. Would not return.

Avoid at all costs!
The host is a scam artist. He clearly had no intention of cleaning the house before our arrival, or even after. Beds unmade, trash and dirty towels everywhere, feces and dead bugs on the bathroom floor. WiFi down. We left before unpacking when it became clear he was not sending a cleaning crew or bothering to get the wifi working. VRBO customer service useless. I’m not one to write negative reviews, this is my first one after a dozen vacations. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOST! Still waiting for a refund as we could not stay in this dirty home.

Terrible experience
The house had a broken window, and a bedroom with a combination lock which wouldn't open. The property owner/manager was non-responsive despite leaving several voicemail and text messages, as the broken window was a security issues plus we booked a 3 bedroom place as we needed 3 bedrooms. I had to call a locksmith who upon investigating said that lock was broken and had to be taken out. In addition, the gas range wouldn't turn on. It would let out gas but the flint action wouldn't spark to ignite the flame. The house was dirty all the way through. Looked like the cleaning crew did a rush job and basically did a lipstick on a pig job. Everything could have been resolved, however the owner/manager never responded. I would not recommend this place to anyone even if it was free. I spent hours on the phone with VRBO, only to be forwarded from department to department with no resolution.

Worst Rental Ever
This property was the worst short term rental I have ever been involved with. Before check in, the host was difficult to contact for arrival instructions. We then arrived at 4 pm (the time of check-in), and the cleaning crew was still there (we later learned that the cleaning crew did not show up until 3:20 pm based on the security camera footage). We left to let them complete the cleaning and returned after dinner around 7 pm. We found the house to be shockingly messy. The floors were completely disgusting, and had clearly not been cleaned. The sheets on one of the beds were visibly dirty and clearly not cleaned. There was a broken window upstairs. There were remnants of partying and mayhem scattered throughout the house. There were no cups or mugs to drink out of. Door hinges were broken, and handles smashed. This house is a disaster and should not be rented to anyone else until it is dealt with. It is a cheap spot in Berkeley, but unless you are high-schoolers looking for a place to party in and destroy, you should go elsewhere.
