Zeer geslaagde familievakantie!
Wij verbleven in Praia D'el Rey van 23 juli tot 2 augustus en hadden een topvakantie met de hele familie. De villa is zeer rustig gelegen en omringd door een prachtige en goed onderhouden tuin (zorgt echt voor een wow gevoel bij aankomst!), met vele terrassen, barbecue en een fijn zwembad. De villa zelf is erg ruim en alles wat je in je vakantie zou kunnen nodig hebben is aanwezig : zeer goed uitgeruste keuken, meer dan voldoende ligstoelen, strandspeelgoed voor de kleinsten, een biljarttafel, spelletjes, boeken, wasmachine, etc etc ... De hele villa ademt een familiale vakantiesfeer. De eigenaars zijn erg goed bereikbaar en geven uitgebreide info mee niet alleen wat de praktische kant van de vakantie betreft, maar ook tips voor uitstappen en een overzicht van sport-en andere recreatiemogelijkheden in de omgeving. Strand op stapafstand! Clubhouse voor een snelle en lekkere snack ook op stapafstand. Tijdens ons verblijf was de temperatuur erg aangenaam en het was ook lekker surfweer. Kortom we hebben er heel erg van genoten!

Translated into English. Very successful family holiday! We stayed at Praia D'el Rey of 23 July to 2 August and had a brilliant holiday with the whole family. The villa is very quietly located and surrounded by a beautiful and well-kept garden (provides really for a wow feeling upon arrival!), with many terraces, BBQ and a fine swimming pool. The villa itself is very spacious and everything you could need in your vacation is present: very well equipped kitchen, ample sun loungers, beach toys for the little ones, a pool table, games, books, washing machine, etc etc. .. The whole villa has a family holiday atmosphere. The owners are very easily accessible and give comprehensive info with it not only the practical side of the holiday, but also tips for excursions and an overview of sports and other recreational activities in the area. Beach on step away! Clubhouse for a quick and tasty snack also on step away. During our stay the temperature was very pleasant and it was also delicious surf weather. In short we have really enjoyed it! So pleased you all enjoyed yourselves so much and thank you for the review.

Une très belle villa avec un superbe jardin
Le cadre est superbe, la villa très belle, spacieuse et très bien équipée. La piscine est un vrai plus. La localisation permet d'aller à la plage à pieds en moins 15 minutes et de visiter très facilement les nombreux sites d'intérêt de la région : Obidos, Peniche, Nazare, Lisbonne ... Mandy nous a transmis toutes les informations utiles pour arriver dans les meilleures conditions et a toujours été très réactive. Merci. En résumé, une semaine parfaite !

Spacious house with great pool and garden
The house is spacious, the surroundings are beautiful and quiet, location is great, the beach is a 12min walk away, we played tennis, did some surfing lessons, ate out every day in the many great restaurants in the area, some excursions to Obidos, Belangas, Sintra, massages, yoga in front of the sea etc and overall had a fantastic time. The weather was good and way more enjoyable than the heatwaves of the Mediterranean. If you like an active holiday, you'll find many things to do. Mandy was a super reactive and helpful host. Thanks a lot for making this holiday a great one!

primera vez en Portugal
Sin duda Mandy ha estado la mejora suena que había tenido hasta ahora . Excelente la preparación , siempre util y accesible Mandy nos ha dado muchos propuestas para diferentes actividades y excursiones hasta las Mercadonas que necesitábamos !! La casa nos ha gusatdo muchissimo . Tiene anos ya, pero el estilo ingles me encanta . La casa es enorme y con amueblado con amor - no faltaba nada !! Los jardines alrededor spectacular. Es muy tranquilo porque casi no hay vecinos. La piscina es también mas grande que pensábamos ( creo de longitud unos 14 metros !!) La casa esta situada en una zona para jugar golf - no hay otras actividades muy cerca- el coche necesitas !!!! Hay pistas de tennis pero para jugadores que saben un poco jugar no son muy buenos y viejos ( pista dura) El tiempo de verdad podría haber sido mucho mejor - es la segunda semana casi no hemos visto el sol y las temperaturas tampoco estaban altas . Mi familia española disfrutaba exactamente este temperature ( 20 Grados) pero nosotros alemanes estuvimos un poco decepcionado !! Todos juntos quiero recomendar Mandy y la casa , y a todos que juegan al golf ! Si esperas dias de playa ( que tambien y enorme y bonito) puede ser, que no hay siempre.... Lo bueno es que Portugal es muy bonito , bastante verde y hay muchos pueblos o ciudades que vale la pena ver pero hay caminos con coche ....

Un lugar muy especial, para estos momentos de calores del sur de España, todo muy bien cuidado
muy bien , la pena el jardín que no se puede disfrutar mucho por ser bancales , la casa super confortable , teniendo en cuenta que son m muebles antiguos , pero los cuartos de baños actualizados.

Beautiful outside but too dark & damp for us inside
Mandy has been very helpful and kind, lovely hostess and very clear instructions. The house & garden are both very spacious and the kids had a fun time playing! The house however wasn’t the perfect fit for us. We stayed with two families with small children. My family stayed in the downstairs wing where it felt like sleeping in a basement. Very damp and musty. The beds upstairs and downstairs were uncomfortable, the rooms downstairs were very simple. The temperature of the water in the shower upstairs was hard to adjust and nearly burned one of the kids after first being cold for what seemed for ever. Everything including towels etc was old. There were no beach towels. Kitchen very well stocked though. The house is situated on a very uninspiring resort where as we were hoping to enjoy the authentic Portugal. We should have researched the area better. We choose the house because of its character but we might be happier with a slightly newer and more luxury home next time!

Spacious historic house with beautiful gardens
We stayed for 11 nights with teenage boys (14 and 16) The layout of the house was perfect due to the peaceful master bedroom upstairs and the boys could close off a couple of downstairs bedrooms and have their own privacy and space .i was concerned due to the lack of air conditioning but the bedrooms stayed cool with only occasional use of the supplied pedestal fan. The pool table was a bonus and the pool area private. Golf was easy to book and played several different 9 holes as a family. Highly recommend Alex surf school in Baleal - can rent surf boards and body boards or lessons. Family restaurants in Baleal and club house in resort highly recommended.Cost of living seemed cheaper than the Algarve and whole area much quieter and unspoilt. Recommend Obidos ( esp the Medieval festival )and Nazarre ( make sure to get funicular railway up the cliff) for evenings out . Would definitely come back! House is historic and we thought beautiful . Not smart or high tech and really only 4-5 Englsh TV channels.Good WiFi and owner Mandy a delight to deal with.

Amazingly well maintained spacious house and beautiful gardens.
What a peaceful spot and so secluded and yet only a short walk to the Clubhouse, restaurant and bar. Lovely gardens and areas to sit throughout the day in sun or shade and the conservatory overlooking the swimming pool where I could read a book and watch the children in the pool was brilliant. The house is very comfortable and well equipped we couldn't have asked for anything more. Close to Obidos, Peniche, Caldas da Rainha and so many interesting places to visit. Swimming pool was really enjoyed by the children and the large BBQ area beside the pool was brilliant. The owners were very helpful from start to finish. We will definitely be back.
