Welcome to Monkey Corner: a spacious and comfortable studio apartment ideally located for exploring the best of Barbados’ south coast. The studio features a king-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, reliable wi-fi (ideal for digital nomads), air con and both indoor and outdoor showers. There's also a separate TV room, a patio with a hammock, and an outdoor dining area complete with a gas BBQ and table.

The apartment is just a short walk from top surf breaks at South Point and Freights Bay, while Miami Beach and the lively Oistins Fish Fry are also within walking distance or an easy drive. A rental car is recommended to access shops & restaurants and to explore the island. The windsurfing, wingfoiling and kitesurfing spots are a 5-10 minute easy drive from the apartment.

Monkey Corner is our recently refurbished guest studio, attached to our home but completely private. The two areas are separated by our garage, giving you your own entrance, private spaces, and total independence during your stay.

The property gets its name from the local family of monkeys that frequently pass by the property, always a fun sight! They keep to themselves, and we encourage guests to simply enjoy watching them from a respectful distance.

Walk just 3 minutes to reach South Point’s surf break or about 8 minutes to get to Freights Bay, a calm and beginner-friendly wave (you’ll likely spot sea turtles here too, especially at dawn or dusk!). We’re happy to connect guests with local surf instructors and gear rental shops.

Miami Beach, perfect for swimming or sunbathing, is a 20-minute walk, and from there it’s not far to the famous Oistins Fish Fry. For laid-back nightlife, Surfer’s Bay Bar & Restaurant is also nearby and features great food, live music, and a lovely view for sunset.

While walking or using local transport is doable, we suggest renting a car for greater flexibility and to really take in all Barbados has to offer.

Access & Support

Guests enjoy private access via a key safe. We’re nearby and happy to offer help or island advice whenever needed. Just remember, this is island life. Occasionally, power or water may go out for short periods. We appreciate your patience and are always available to help keep things running smoothly.

PLEASE NOTE:

We kindly ask guests to use the A/C thoughtfully and always turn it off when leaving the apartment.

For stays of 28 days or longer, a biweekly mid-stay clean will be scheduled at a cost of US$35, arranged at a time that suits you.

Due to high energy prices we have installed a meter on our Air Con instead of increasing our rental prices. We can see some never use AC, others have it on 24/7. So included in the price is 10Kwh per night. If usage is significantly more than this, we will charge you the extra usage at a rate of 0.50$USD/Kwh. There is a digital meter installed, so it is very easy to follow your consumption. 10Kwh is approximately enough to run the AC for 8 hours depending of course on the temperature set.
