'Thank you for a wonderful 2 day stay at The Mercure Hotel in Paignton, Devon. My husband and i stayed in a Classic Double room with a lovely big shower, they also provided towels, hair shampoo, shower gel all organic and great quality along with the hand soap. Our bed was amazing very comfortable, also great blackout curtains too. The windows don’t open in the room but the good news is you have great air con and heating at your fingertips. The Tv was 52” and fabulous with free view channels...

'It took 40 years but I finally made it to university!😂 The room was a standard dorm room with basic facilities. And a wonderful view from the 13th floor. And as it was after the end of the term it was very quiet and empty. All you can eat breakfast included, so a great start to the day. '

'Stayed again at the venue but this time midweek the only small criticism I have is that they chose not to do filter coffee jugs at breakfast which was disappointing as was very welcome at the weekend when clearly more guests were staying. I would however suggest just keeping one jug on the go in mid-week would have been nice'

No radiator or towel rail were on but the room was like a sauna. Slept on top of bed with window wide open but very hot all night!'

'We waren een uur te vroeg en mochten meteen op de kamer. Mochten de verdieping kiezen, 2 of 3, kregen niet zomaar wat toegewezen.er was helaas geen lift. Personeel heel behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Ontbijt is er prima, wij houden niet van een engels ontbijt, maar er was genoeg om voor iedEr wat wils te nemen. Koffie is er prima. Mooi oud gebouw.onze vrienden die ons regelmatig ophaalden en terugbrachten mochten er gratis parkeren.'

'On first arrival the car park had plenty of space with a gentle slope to reception. Rang the bell to check in. All very pleasant. Guys name is John and he is as nice as they come. Checked in a went to room. All very nice again. It’s what you need on a business trip. Tv. Bed. Kettle and shower. Had a beer in the bar, good selection of tap beers. I’d missed the kitchen due to my arrival time but he offered sandwiches, pizza etc out of hours. Enjoyed a few beers in the bar and got my head down....

'One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. It’s a lovely traditional hotel building (1920s shall we say?) which has been beautifully renovated and refurbished. Both the big picture and the small details are delightful. Staff service was friendly with a real sense of team and purpose. I haven’t mentioned the small outdoor pool (constant 27c) or hot tub simply because I didn’t use them this time! I can’t remember what I paid for my one-night visit but it was a bargain, and I would be very happy to...
