'South Shire is a beautiful place filled with history and character. The staff were wonderful; kind and attentive. They were welcoming to us and our pup throughout the stay. We were very happy with the quality of the mattress and linens as well as the ac being nice and cold on a very hot day (not always things you find in an older bed and breakfast.) We would absolutely stay here again. '

'Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Building was quiet. Wifi was fast and stable. Very relaxing environment. I would definitely come back to see what future improvements are made to the property as I was told by the front desk staff that they're making a constant effort to upgrade the facilities.'

'What a nice, vintage place - yet very clean and not shabby at all! I enjoyed sitting on the porch. A breakfast place is nearby. I thought being so old, there would be thin walls, but it was so quiet! The bed was comfy and the shower was so great, I took a picture of the shower head to get for home. I would definitely stay here again if in this part of Vermont. '

'It was acceptable for one night, but the key was a little worn and hard to use, the mirror on the door is not usable, and the room smells terribly like old cigarette smoke, mattress had a plastic protector cover, made it hard to sleep peacefully.
It’s a quaint historic motel. Fixing these things would make it even better.

'The only decent thing was that it was clean. Broken doors, broken remote, broken lamp, was frightening pulling in with people that seemed to be just hanging out. Maybe they lived there in a room. All kinds of what appeared to be junk all around run down buildings. '
