'Luxurious comfy apartment in the heart of the delightful small town. Fully equipped with everything youll need. Never any trouble parking directly opposite the property, though it was outside of peak period. My only complaint is local takeaways not staying open long enough. '

'With my Mum having limited mobility the parking situation was a challenge but we managed. We also hadn’t realised the 2nd bedroom was two single beds (our fault for not checking closely enough) but again we managed. Otherwise it was a great place to stay with beautiful views from the little garden on the one evening we had that it didn’t rain. A wonderful place to stay overall and would highly recommend it.'

'Lovely place, very well equipped and great location.'

'Really nice apartment with everything you need but a few things fixed toilet seat, light in the entrance and the fire detector.'

'Good location, friendly helpful staff Great cooked breakfast. Room under the roof a 'ittle warm'

'An amazing location and room. Great breakfast and convenient to walkable and drivable Lake District attractions.'

'Food was fantastic and the staff couldn’t be more attentive. First class'

'Een bijzonder leuke locatie. Heel rustige ruime tuin aan het water. Wel jammer dat er picknicktafels staan. Ook geen airco op de kamer en in het restaurant geen ober die de bestellingen voor drinken en eten kwam opnemen. Een heel mooi restaurant. '

'No SPA was available as was advertised.'

'Beautiful property out of the bustle of nearby Ambleside or Hawkshead. Lovingly cared for and staffed. Gorgeous views, delicious breakfast and dinner, and a hot shower. Hikes out the door. 5 minute walk to Beatrix Potter's home at Hill Top. We hope to return.'

'Lovely clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfasts. Lovely food in restaurant. No TV service due to recent storms. This was not the fault of the hotel and they did provide a working TV in the comfortable lounge. Overall, a great 4 night stay. We will return.'

'Location was perfect right in the centre of historic Hawkshead ask about car parking at the primary school. On Suite was very small, the vanity didn’t drain properly, the sensor light is a pain when you don’t want to wake-up your partner at night! A common problem with all accommodation in the Uk is that only having a Duvet on the bed to hot to use and worst no top sheet, Duvets are to hot in winter because of the heating and to hot in summer with no air conditioning and with no ventilation...

'Great staff, room was clean, breakfast was good.'

'Goed hotel vlak aan het Windemere meer. Nette kamer, goed ontbijt, beetje te formeel bij diner.'

'The Red Lion is perfectly located within the picturesque village of Hawkshead. The pub is a great, friendly place to spend the evening and the fact that they serve food is a bonus if you don't want to go out. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.'
