Great service, beach, excellent food
Great little hotel with a private beach, and an amazing view of Kotor Bay. The staff are great human beings, and very considerate. The little bay it's in is great because it's somewhat shielded from the boats going through Boka Bay, which you won't find so much at other hotels. The biggest winner was the food. That little kitchen makes an excellent breakfast, both a la carte and buffet, and their dinners are world class, punching way above their weight. I didn't feel like leaving the three days we were there, but Perast is just around the corner which is also lovely, and Kotor itself is easy to get to.

Das Hotel kannte ich schon vorher, weshalb wir uns dafür entschieden haben. Super freundliches Servicepersonal. Ein sehr umfangreiches und leckeres Frühstück. Das Essen a la Carte war auch sehr lecker. Da ich mit dem Auto angereist bin, wurde mein Auto vom anderen Gast mit der Autotür beschädigt. Ich habe vom Parkenden Auto Fotos gemacht. Als ich es im Hotel gemeldet habe, hat der Fahrer umgeparkt und wollte von der Sache nichts wissen. Die Rezeprion wollte sich durch Cameraüberwachungen drum kümmern, wurde aber nicht gemacht. Ich wollte danicht hinterher Laufen und fand es schade, dass das Thema unter dem Teppich gekehrt wurde. Ich hatte keine Lust mein Urlaub mir mit dem Thema zu vermiesen.Das Vorfall fällt in meine persönliche negative Bewertung und würde meine Auswahl bezüglich des Hotels beeinflussen. Ansonsten ist es zu empfehlen, vor allem der kleine Strand,wo man die Sonnenstrahlen genießen und die Seele baumeln lassen kann.

Amazing hotel, we loved it. Breakfast is delicious - both the buffet, and the items on the menu (especially the ricotta pancakes!). The terraces looking out towards the sea are perfect. Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Wish we could've stayed longer! Only tiny issue was that the angle of the shower head got the whole bathroom floor wet - but fine if you use the rain shower instead. Plus - make sure you get a boat taxi to Kotor (€40 vs €10 for car, but so much more fun!)

Memorable!!!
Our stay in the Amfora hotel was one of the best stays my girlfriend and I have ever had. The view , food , service and attention to detail left us incredibly sad to leave this hotel. I can't say enough about how everyone at the hotel made us feel special and cared for. We had a special connection with the waiters Damir and Rade who took very good care of us. Maya who worked reception was so incredibly kind. Her and Jelena arranged our seamless pick up and drop off to Dubrovnik as well as other excursions! And our 'driver' but now good friend Jovitce was a highlight of our entire european trip. He stopped at nothing to ensure we were well taken care of , well educated about the area , and followed through on every request during our outings to beautiful areas in Montenegro. We are left with strong feelings about the Amfora hotel and highly recommend to anyone!!!

Friendly staff - nothing unique about hotel. Facilities in spa poor. Not even a shower for use after sauna. We were very disappointed. Too many steps - 54 up to our room (no.34) no lift. You do not need to forget something! Lots of steps down to “private beach”. Not private. Non residents allowed to use loungers, sometimes not enough for residents. Lots of wasps at breakfast on deck. Most people brought their food inside. Food nothing special. No telephones working in rooms. Sockets not working apparently. Although we were told to dial “0” for reception or room service. Hard with no phone and 54 steps down to order and then back up 54! No decaf coffee available in rooms and certainly not going down for it from bar. Bought our own jar for £7.00! We are both active & fit 71yr olds and travel a great deal. We have never had an alleged 4* hotel with no room phones. Just don’t have an emergency, you can’t call anyone! If you are unfit or asthmatic do not stay here!

Breathtaking views. Great Service.
What an amazing place. Everyone was so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Great location close to Kotor but far from the crowds. We had a top floor family room with a spectacular view of Kotor Bay. We will definitely be back and recommend to friends. Thank you for wonderful memories.

Casa Amfora
Amazing stay! Great hotel situated right by the water about 10km away from Kotor and 4 km away from Perast. Their beach has chairs and beds. Their restaurant is very good and the rooms are very clean. make sure you book a room with seaview, it is breathtaking. What made the difference is the friendliness of the staff. They were so helpful and made us feel at home. Thank you for the amazing and unforgettable stay in the majestic Bay of Kotor

Wonderful location, Great staff.
Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent location. Get yourself a room with a view of the bay, our room had a terrace with fantastic views. Taxis to Koyor are cheap, and Perast is just three miles away. We are in the restaurant twice in three nights and were not disappointed (thank you Alexander). All the staff were grainy and professional. I'd say this is almost the perfect location, away from the crowds, but near enough to Koyor and Perast. Do them both and then retreat to this fantastic little jewel.

Very bad experience in this hotel
We lived in this hotel for 3 days, but had very bad living experience there. The hotel is not clean: the smell of sewer filled the whole room when we entered into the room every time . The quilt cover is very dirty, we found the smudge on the side which touch body, then put it on the prominent place of the bed hope house keeper can change one for us, but it shocked us that house keeper just turn the smudge side into inside!!!!! On the hand, the hotel has big problem on their hot water system, it caused bad shower experience, the hot water cannot support only 1 person shower, we have to wait more than 1 hour for hot water with shampoo foam hair. No one in the hotel can solve the problem or just give us a solution, they told us they don’t know what happened, nothing to do.

Friendly hotel and good location
We had a wonderful stay, thanks to the great team at the hotel. Many thanks to Maja who welcomed us every day at reception. We at a couple of times at the restaurant and would recommend it. I would say that although smoking is prohibited in the rooms, it was permitted in the reception area, which I found unpleasant.

Perfect for Peace and Relaxation
We LOVED staying at this small hotel. The view of the bay is spectacular, and the property offers many ways to relax and enjoy it. The staff was excellent, and the morning breakfast was very nice. The location was perfect for us...near the old town but outside the hustle and bustle of the old town (aka super tourist zone). The only thing we would change is our room. It was near the staff entrance and could get quite noisy at night and in the AM.

Brilliant small hotel that its difficult to find fault with. Lovely peaceful location. Little private beach, terrace by the sea. Stunning views. Amazing varied breakfast. Conscientious staff. Clean and tidy. The evening meals weren't of a high standard which is why I only gave a 4/5 for hotel facilities but they were adequate and we ate there two of the seven nights so it wasn't at all bad. I would highly recommend this hotel for a quiet stay in Montenegro. If you hire a car, the tourist towns of Perast and Kotor are a short drive away, easily done by taxi or there is a bus stop 50 yards from the hotel. There's also a corner shop too so you can top up on bottles of water etc for your day trips out. We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely return to this hotel.

Hidden gem
The view is stunning and public places, restaurant etc. is out of this world. Great local wines. We had a mountain view room and it was in the first floor, next to the parking area, so next time I’d take sea view room. All in all such a lovely place to stay!

Perfektion
Bättre utsikt, personal och renlighet kan man verkligen inte få. Att vakna varje morgon med det lugnet och utsikten är något som alla borde få uppleva någongång i livet. Ska tilläggas att hotellet är mer mysigt än lyxigt, men det var precis så vi ville ha det.

Beautiful stay, stunning views
We stayed at Casa del Mare Amfora for five nights in the first week of June for our first visit to Montenegro. We had a wonderful stay, the hotel is perfectly situated below the main road by a beautiful and calm pebble beach with one of the most beautiful views we’d ever seen out over Kotor Bay. Hotel service was great, breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant with ocean views was very good, do try the local rosé wine. We found the location perfect, 5 mins taxi to Perast (beautiful town, our favourite for dinner by the seaside) and 10 mins taxi to Kotor, a taxi was under €10. There is a bus stop just by the hotel but local buses dont run very often and times are a bit irregular. There is a small shop just around the corner where a very friendly lady sells all the basics. Our room had a terrace towards the mountains, still a nice view but if you can get a terrace towards the sea do so, as the view is stunning. Our room was very spacious, perfectly clean and had everything you’d need. The only thing that could be improved is the wifi which wasn’t great in rooms but was currently being fixed. We can really recommend Casa del Mare and will be coming back. Early June was a great time to go, weather was amazing and nowhere was overcrowded.

Wonderfully renovated hotel across a quiet street to beach with lounge chairs. Functioning air conditioning! Excellent breakfast, very helpful staff. Great dinner. Parking provided. Proximity to Kotor, 9 km. Seaside room was quiet with nice views. Highly recommended.

lovely staff and amazing views
The hotel is great, its away from the city and right off the main road. The location is more private and there is no noise to keep you up at night. The views from the restaurant are amazing, both of the mountain as well as of the bay area. All of the staff was super nice and the breakfast options were great. The only thing i don't like is that guests smoke near the entrance, if you are a non-smoker this really gets to you. Being that the hotel is away from the city you have to take a taxi which costs around 7 euros. If you want to be able to walk to other places this is not for you. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a great stay in Kotor.

Choose a room with a sea view
Loved the view and being able to swim in the sea just outside this small hotel! It's the view that makes this place special, we were so glad we booked a room looking over the sea (the "mountain view" rooms look towards the mountains but really the view is of surrounding buildings and the parking lot). Our only frustration was the stray cats. Impossible to enjoy a meal if you're not partial to cats, they pestered us at both the outdoor and indoor tables. Otherwise a great stay!

Wonderful hotel
Really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were clean and there was plenty of cupboard space. The beds were comfortable, the shower was very good. The food was excellent, also good wine. Beautiful clear sea water and comfortable sunbeds. Great place to stay for a few relaxing days.

Our room not available after 28 hours of flying
I booked over 6 months in advance! When we arrived at the hotel we were told they had a plumbing problem and had tried to email me and call me. I am a travel agent with my own business of over 30 years. I reply to over 50 emails a day even on holidays and travel with my phone I didn't receive an email or call. We flew from Australia for 28 hours and drove for more than 2 hours and caught a ferry for 3 hours to get to Kotor. There was 3 adults my husband and myself and a girlfriend of mine. We booked a 2 bedroom suite with sea view and large terrace. We were offered a studio with mountain view and a single sofa bed at the foot of our bed for my girlfriend. This was totally unacceptable so we were then offered 2 rooms for the first night and move to a sister hotel on a main road for the second night. We rejected these as we wanted to unpack and enjoy an ocean front hotel for 2 nights. We went to the new Hotel Majestic in Budva and had a wonderful time, make up your own mind on this hotel.
