Facowie Lodge - (Loon Lodge), Premier accommodatie in de buurt van Crane Lake, MN

Facowie (uitgesproken als Fa-cow-wee, genoemd naar een verloren Indian Tribe) Lodge is een toevluchtsoord in de wildernis, net ten noordwesten van Buyck, vlak bij de hoofdweg van Crane Lake Road, ongeveer 8 km voor de stad Crane Lake.

Deze twee-eenheid woning (deze eenheid Loon Lodge, VRBO lijst 4544341 en de andere eenheid Grand Lodge, VRBO lijst 4553868, kan afzonderlijk of gecombineerd worden gehuurd voor een grotere groep) is prachtig gelegen boven een klein rustig meer genaamd Kabustasa recht tegenover Echo Lake . Het is een zeer rustige omgeving zonder alle drukte van een groot resort. De lodge is ingericht voor accommodaties voor liefhebbers van het buitenleven, familievakanties of zakelijke retraites.

Beide lodges zijn opgezet als eenheden met twee slaapkamers, waarvan een met een grotere woonkamer. Ze zijn allebei smaakvol ingericht in een noordelijke Minnesota-stijl en mooi ingericht met een "in het noorden" thema. Ze zijn elk geschikt voor maximaal 4-7 personen en een aangrenzende deur kan worden geopend voor grotere groepen. De lodge is schuin, dus het heeft een volledig uitzicht op het kleine pittoreske meer en heeft een aantal prachtige zonsondergangen in het westen over het meer.

Het gebied is gevuld met vele outdoor-avonturen en activiteiten om te doen. Er zijn veel soorten avonturen die in het gebied te vinden zijn, zoals wandelen, site-seeing, varen, bosbessen plukken, vogels kijken, dieren in het wild observeren, jagen, vissen, lef, 4 rijden en de lijst gaat maar door!

Google Earth is een geweldig programma waarmee u vanuit de lucht kunt zoomen om het Kabustassa-meer in vogelvlucht te bekijken en het prachtige gebied rondom de Facowie Lodge te bekijken. Dit is een gratis download-softwarepakket waarmee je het terrein en alle meren kunt verkennen. Onze Lodge ligt vlak bij een verharde snelweg, dus het is gemakkelijk te vinden en zeer toegankelijk.

Crane Lake Get Away

The property is an absolutely perfect way to explore the area, and have a nice, quiet spot to go to relax. We loved the sunsets, the cabin was beautiful, and the outdoor sitting area/fire pit was a favorite spot to end our evenings. Loved everything about it!

Lovely little gem of a cabin!

We stayed for three nights in the Loon Lodge. The lodge is very clean, well-equipped, and the property owners are great communicators! The view from the deck is beautiful, peaceful, and the area loons sang to us while we enjoyed our morning coffee. We would stay here again!

Perfect and Peaceful

The lodge was perfect with every need and convenience met. We cooked most meals at the lodge and everything needed was provided in the kitchen. The internet was high speed and the TV had every channel imaginable. We especially enjoyed the view from the deck and also the fire pit. We loved the very dark night sky - perfect for star gazing. It was so quiet and peaceful! The owner was very responsive and went the extra mile to make our stay perfect. We enjoyed the NPS boat tour at Voyager’s National Park, the wolf center in Ely, hiking and biking. Beautiful region of the USA. A wonderful and relaxing week. We definitely intend to return for another visit to the lodge.

As expected-ish

Everything was as expected. The property was further away from the water and closer to a main highway than we anticipated. It was really nice to have the entire property to ourselves but we were all a bit disappointed to see we had gotten the smaller cabin even though no one else was staying there. We were there for 3 full days As the only woman with my husband, our two strapping young sons, and our dog, I could’ve used a little more space. The ambiance was typical Northern Minnesota cabin-style. Real log furniture throughout. Real uncomfortable log furniture throughout. We really appreciated the extra blankets, kitchen towels, and extra pillows. We would have probably come back had we been given the larger cabin. That just left a sour taste in my mouth.

Renting out a property requires taking responsibility

Loon Lodge is a spacious and reasonably well-furnished accommodation. Unfortunately, that is where the praise has to stop. There were too many things wrong after this that put this property on our "do not go" list. Let me start with the biggest issue. We were kept awake half of the night of Aug 19-20 because of a faulty smoke alarm that went off twice starting at about 1:30 a.m. We spent about an hour and a half outside the lodge waiting for the fire department to show up twice to check the the premises out. Eventually they had to yank out the smoke detector before we could sleep. Our plans for the next day were completely shot, including a boat trip in Voyageur National Park for which we had bought tickets in advance. The lodge owner "apologized" for this problem, but that does not cut it. Smoke alarms need to be checked and replaced periodically, it is not acceptable to do this only when they exhibit faulty behavior, especially when you have someone else staying on the property and paying good money for the stay. The lodge owner is yet to take responsibility and make amends; it is especially irksome that the only "responsibility" he has taken is to inform us after we have left that the smoke alarm was really faulty and has now been replaced! Other things indicate a similar lack of responsibility. The "Guest Information" is rather out-of-date. It should also not be describing activities 100 miles away, such as at Rainy Lake. Space limits listing other issues.

Fun week at a great place

Amazing sunsets

FACOWIE!!!

If you have stayed at FACOWIE, you will know what it means. Loon side of the lodge is perfect for a couple or small family. Loon is quiet and peaceful. Sunsets over Kabustasa Lake in back of the lodge are worth every moment. Facowie is well appointed, clean and comfortable. The washer and dryer are a welcome bonus. Just bring quarters and soap. Facowie is centrally located. Echo Trail Tavern is 100 yards from Facoowie driveway. The have a wood fired pizza oven that is fired up on Friday and Saturday. Well worth it!! Echo lake is across the street and Crane Lake is a short drive for fishing waters. This was our fourth stay at Facowie and not our last.

Best snowmobiling ever

Had a great time at Facowie. Convenient location right off the snowmobile trail with easy access to anywhere. Set up of the lodge worked very well for our family of 5. We brought up a card table and chairs for eating and playing games. There was ample space to do this. Overall it was a cozy place to be. It was very peaceful and quiet here. We all want to come back next winter. Even our dog enjoyed it.

Great location, great place!!

We stayed here for our annual grouse hunt and cutting down our Christmas tree as we do every year Thanksgiving weekend. This location was perfect and very nice. Will definitely continue our tradition here every year now that we finally found a great place to stay!!
