Geweldig mooi hotel in hartje centrum van Oxford
Prachtig hotel in centrum van Oxford. Heerlijk ontbijt en gezellige lounge. Je kunt er ook lekker lunchen of dineren. Leuk personeel. Waarschijnlijk veel stagiaires. Zij spraken goed engels maar wel met ieder een eigen accent (Frans - Spaans - enz). Prima service. We waren met 3 personen. Dus 2 kamers geboekt. Room 308 (2 persoonskamer) was ruim. Room 310 (2 persoonskamer) was krap. Heel weinig ruimte rondom het bed. Bij uitstappen van de douche ook uitkijken dat je je hoofd niet stoot aan de schuine kant.

It is nice to be in the centre of Oxford. I like to begin the day with coffee on bed. So please two coffeestrips Nescafé per person on the tray. Every day!

Mooi hotel en goed gelegen
Mooi hotel in een historisch pand en met een parking. Goed gelegen vlak bij het centrum. Lekker eten bij Marco, heerlijke cocktails en een vriendelijke service.

Prima ligging. Hele goede kamer. Luxe en modern. Ontbijt viel tegen. Ook de koffie: zeker met Italiaans restaurant in huis

Dit is een heel prettig hotel midden in Oxford.
goed en fijn hotel vooral als je een heleboel wil bekijken kun je geen betere locatie hebben midden in het centrum en toch op een rustig gedeelte. Een echte aanrader.

Prima centrale locatie, en toch een rustige straat en bovenal een sfeervol uitzicht vanuit de kamer op een typisch Oxford gebouw. Knusse comfortabele en schone kamer waarin alles aanwezig was (waterkoker, koffie en thee, koelkastje, fohn, genoeg kleerhangers, strijkbout, airco) en welke ruim genoeg was voor 4 dagen/nachten prima verblijf. Aardig en behulpzaam personeel. Enig minpuntje was de douchekop met weinig druk waardoor douchen en haren wassen wat langer duurt. Ik zou zonder aarzelen weer boeken in dit hotel.

Very pleasant stay, close to all sites
I had a lovely stay in this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful (they even helped us park the car). The room was clean, reasonably spacious and with a spacious bathroom. The only very minor flaw was that we could not open the window. The location of the hotel is also very good, close to nice restaurants and shops as well as all Oxford sites. i will definately revisit this hotel.

Aan de achterzijde van het hotel is aan de muur naast de kamer een agregaat/ventilator geplaatst voor de airco van het hotel dat een zeer storend geluid produceert dag en nacht. Het receptie personeel reageerde ongeïnteresseerd op de klacht. Na enig aandringen uiteindelijk een andere (veel kleinere kamer met een smal 2-persoonsbedje)gekregen. Maximaal 2 sterren hotel; beslist geen aanrader!

We came to stay to visit the Oxford Mayday celebrations for which it was an excellent location. The room was nicely decorated with all facilities. We even had a view of Magdalen tower from the room. The breakfast was excellent with all tastes catered for. The room and on-site parking were a bit expensive but this was mostly offset by the excellent location.

Great central location, good beds and helpful staff. But our room was really hot. Air-conditioning didn’t work and windows only opened a tiny bit. They gave us a drinks voucher to apologise but we had plans to go out, so a refund would have been better. They also gave us a room fan but this didn’t balance upright and was noisy, so we had an uncomfortable sleep. Bedroom and bathroom were well kitted out but mould on bathroom ceiling and around old window frames needs looking at.

Within walking distance of central Oxford, this hotel is in a quiet area of the city and is reasonably priced given its location. While the room I had was a good size with a large bathroom, other rooms are smaller but have better views. I found the bed to be comfortable, but it may be too hard for some. The timed lights in the hallways and black-out curtains made for a lovely dark room at night. There was a wide choice of English and Continental breakfasts. The reception, cleaning, breakfast and bar staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to others.

The property needs a general overhaul. Sad. Depressive. Dungeon vibe. Most Windows didn’t even open. Reception staff need retraining on customer service. It was just a sad overall experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. Oxford deserves better… please please do it the justice it deserves…

Central location but so quiet!
Central location, everything within a few mins walk. Parking is an issue but actually, the car park we used was cheaper for 24hrs than the hotel would have been of they had space. The bar was empty when we returned after our theatre visit but we found someone to serve us. Room was great, really quiet, only problem was no hot water in the morning so couldn't shower. Glad we showered the night before! Hoping for this to be compensated as overall, we enjoyed our stay in Oxford.

Helpful reception
Travelling back to Oxford for college business, initially found I was allocated a room on third floor, problematic as the lift does not go that high and I have arthritis making stairs difficult. Reception quickly sorted an alternative on the first which was so much easier for me. Thank you.

The hotel is okay but my room (108) was awful - it had a noisy air extraction system directly outside the window. I asked to be re-roomed but I was told that the extraction system shutdown at 9pm, as if that were acceptable. I was then gently vibrated away when the system started again each morning. The staff would not re-room me without me paying a £50 supplement. I won't be staying there again.

Nice place to stay. Room was nice with good space to sit and nice bathroom. Staff courteous. Very nice lobby with comfortable chairs to sit and have a drink and read. Convenient to High Street, right next to Merton College, Magdalen College, and short walk to Radcliffe Camera.

Lovely room and super friendly staff
We stayed in an absolutely beautiful room. It was very large too, which was great as we had to get changed for a black tie event. The room was clean and modern and the staff were wonderful. Delicious full English breakfast too. Great central location. There was a problem with the plumbing in our room on arrival but they offered us an upgraded room, although this was also lovely it was much smaller. So, we asked to stay in the room if they could fix the water problem, which they did very quickly and we stayed in our initial room. Highly recommended. A great stay. Thank you! Peter and Landon

Tired hotel and overpriced
We did get upgraded free of extra charge on arrival. The room was comfortable but the price for one night without breakfast extremely high nonetheless. The hotel itself looks tired in corridors and the bar area.

OK stay ruined by poor customer service. I accidentally left a remote control at the hotel and despite a simple request to pop it in the post, the hotel declined to do that one simple thing. I won’t be staying again.

Poor service
I had booked dinner, the receptionist told us on booking in I had not. The service was terrible from beginning to end, options were not available the menu, the wine waiter dumped our wine down, told us there was no Chardonnay when it was on the wine list. Our plates were collected badly, we were asked our room number three times and the entire dining and breakfast felt shambolic.
