Monterey Getaway
Wonderful property and location in Monterey. House was spotlessly clean and very comfortable for 2 couples. Easy to get to all the activities Monterey has to offer. Look forward to booking this property again on a future trip.

Great stay in Pacific Grove
We had a great stay at the property. The location worked out great for the area. You are right down from Lover's Point and close to the heart of Pacific Grove, the Aquarium and a short drive to everything we wanted to do. The property was well stocked and clean. The washer/dryer works especially well for a rental. The parking behind the house worked well for smaller SUV (larger would be tight) but there was a lot of street parking as well. Two things to note with the bathrooms. The one shower/bathroom is downstairs while the bedrooms are upstairs - not a complaint just a note. Also, the upstairs shower is very short and a little tight for space. It worked fine but just a tight fit if you are close to 6ft. The other thing to note is the house has 5 doors from the outside. The neighborhood feels very safe but the number of doors was just unique for us given the size of the place.

Great little house on the ocean
We had a great stay. The house is very cute and comfortable. It was absolutely spotless, and I have to give an extra shout out for the comfortable beds - you don’t often find those in a VRBO - and 2 kings in PG is hard to find as well. We arrived on the weekend so the traffic from Lovers Point made it seem a little busy, but it was perfect during the week. We loved being right across the street from the beach path where we could hope over and take a walk or sit on a bench by the ocean any time we wanted. We had a great stay, the house worked really well for us!

It was awesome to have coffee and watch the seals from the front porch, have trails right out your front door, and close to all the attractions. It’s a very nice little house, well appointed, and Grace was quick to respond to all our questions.

Stairway not to Heaven
The steep stairway without adequate hand railing was the biggest disappointment. Very dangerous. One bedroom had no closet, just metal shelves in the corner of the room. The shower was small and although the listing states there is a tub, there is not. The bedding for the futon did not include sheets. The "bench on the beach across the street" is actually not directly across the street. There is no AC which is probably not needed often but it was pretty warm while we were there. And, for the amount of money, Folgers coffee really? Pretty bare bones. That said, it is a cozy little place and it is conveniently located near many nearby attractions. I would look around and probably stay there again if I couldn't find anything similar but safer. The stairs were a huge problem for an 80, 70 and 65 yr. old. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Pacific Grove, Monterey and Carmel.

Definitely want to stay again!
The house was simple and exactly what we needed for our stay. The only con was parking across the street away from the house. Neighbors took up all the parking in front of and on the side street. But the location is amazing! I got to say hello to my seal, sea lion, and sea otter friends every morning. We even saw whales one morning from the living room when there was no fog! If you’re looking for a great priced place to stay that’s private and simple, this is it. I’m already planning our next trip there and we just got back home today.

Thanks for the feedback. There is parking for 1 car in front of the garage off Mermaid. I guess you may have missed it in the Welcome document. We will tell guests at check-in going forward for smoother process. Glad to hear your stay was otherwise excellent and you had fun! Seeing the sea life from the house is truly a fun and relaxing experience.

Not as advertised-not worth the money
The functional living space was much smaller than the pictures. There was no mention of the second bathroom being downstairs. The pictures were obviously staged. Everything was smaller except the kitchen. There were fees that no one could explain to us. They charged a cleaning fee and then expected us to strip the beds and take out the trash. Our two couples could have stayed in 2 rooms at the 7 Gables for the price and that includes breakfast. We were very disappointed.

Wonderful stay in Pacific Grove
We truly enjoyed our stay in Pacific Grove. It was very easy to communicate with Grace, she was very quick at answering any questions that we had. The house is very clean and very well equipped with everything that you need. The beds were very comfortable. The view is magnificent, nature right outside your door. The walkway in front of the house was great. It is a 5 Min walk to lovers point (restaurants, place to rent kayak and paddle boards) and about 20 mins walk to Cannery row. We were close to everything we wanted to do. Loved the area and would go back.

Great View - I Miss It Already
This is a great little house with a fantastic view. I miss getting up each morning and watching the sea otters from my bedroom window. Central location to many activities. Parking was easy. Pacific Grove is a very welcoming town. The walking path across from the house is fantastic. Very beautiful location.

My wife and I brought our 6 and 3 year old here for their spring break. Great location. House was clean and the views were incredible. Very convenient to Monterey and Carmel. Pacific Grove is walkable. We had no issues while we were there.

Super cute, historical house in amazing location.
I loved the simplicity of this house and the view is amazing. Even in cooler weather, it was great to sit in the sun on the deck in the morning and enjoy my coffee. Morning walks were great, too.

Great location in Pacific Grove!
We enjoyed our stay at this location, as it was close to everything we hoped to do and see. Parking was easy and the views incredible. You’re right at the waters edge with plenty of frolicking seals and sea otters and seals right in front of the house!

Perfectly adequate…
First of all, owner Grace was very easy to communicate with and wonderfully prompt. She has cookies, candy, and coffee on hand among other items, and the house has all the required appliances. It also has a wonderful view of the water, very convenient for walking and sight-seeing - and this must account for the steep rental fee. We found the house to be comfortable in the most basic way but that’s about all: everything was sort of “bare minimum” compared to other houses we’ve rented. Maybe in the warm summer months this rental would seem like a better deal - but for what we paid vs what we got, we were somewhat disappointed.

Location, location, location...
Superb location! House is a little older but kitchen and baths are upgraded and nice. Bedroom could use closet space but it all worked for four us adults. One could not find a nicer ocean front to walk along!

Love it!!
This location was so awesome. Every day we walked somewhere — to eat, or to some activity or just to see the view. It’s was so nice. House worked so well to hang out in too. Loved the little furnace/fireplace in living room. We found a chess board in the bookcase and challenged each other by the fire. Stayed 8 days so washer was so nice. I’m in love with Pacific Grove. :)

Great Location!
A lovely older beach house with a full kitchen set up, nice two bedroom location and practical, recently updated bath & kitchen facilities. For those physically challenged, both bedrooms are up a steep staircase, but we, at 70, had no problems. Lovely fireplace downstairs and located on the oceanside boardwalk, it was a lovely place to walk, relax, and enjoy.

Property was great. Close to everything you'll want to do in the Monterey Bay region, with an amazing view of the ocean. Had a nice picnic on upper deck overlooking water, and played cards on lower deck overlooking water. Will return. Thanks.

Pacific Grove house right on the coast
We loved our stay at this charming, remodeled home right on the water with a walking trail right in front of the home. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was amazing. Communication could not have been better.

Cozy quarters allowed our multi-generational family to thoroughly enjoy our time together. Proximity and location made it easy to make life-long memories. Property is best appreciated when you take full (& continued) advantage of the outdoor decks, areas; as well as the ocean-front trail directly across the property.

What a great property! The location is really great, effectively right across the street from the water. We could see seals and dolphins right outside our windows. Easy parking. The home is dated, but almost all homes in this area are. The home was very clean, well appointed, and everything worked. The host was friendly and quick to respond to any questions. The home is on a reasonably busy street, but road noise was not really a problem at all. Almost direct access to the recreational trail was a bonus. Really great place to stay for our family of 4!

Wonderful Location
This property is in a wonderful location. We loved being able to walk to the aquarium, downtown Pacific Grove with it’s shops and restaurants and the beautiful trails along the Monterey coast. My only complaint is that it was not obvious that the 2 bedrooms were both upstairs, which was a little difficult for my octogenarian parents. Otherwise, it’s a lovely, clean, well appointed property.

What an excellent location - an easy walk to the Pacific Grove downtown with lots of shops, restaurants and a bookstore/coffee shop. The king-sized beds were comfortable, kitchen was very well appointed and imagine not having to purchase your own laundry supplies! Grace was not only a gracious hostess but when we noted that there wasn't good light for reading, she quickly dropped off two reading lamps for us. Now that's service! The cost is a bit high relative to comparable homes and the TV service is lacking, but the bay is literally across the street. We would definitely stay here again.
