This wasn’t our first trip to 30A, but it was our first time staying directly on the beach and this late in the season. While we understand that nature (like deer flies and love bugs) can’t be controlled, it’s still worth noting that they made the outdoor spaces unusable. We couldn’t enjoy the balcony or patio, eat outside, or leave anything out without it being covered in bugs. The porch outlet also didn’t work, tripping the GFI outlets inside. Maintenance fixed it, but we ended up avoiding the space altogether. The included golf cart had broken turn signals, making it illegal to drive per the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Again, maintenance came out, but we chose not to use it. We also had a strange plumbing noise that was resolved, but only after an additional call to maintenance. The unit had lots of beach chairs and toys, but the main umbrella was broken. Not a huge loss, as the flies were relentless in the shade. Maintenance was helpful (shout out to Mike!), but the overall experience didn’t match the listing or the price. We sent a detailed email to Beyond Blue Vacation Rentals but received a generic response. Customer service rep Ellah was kind but clearly not empowered to offer real solutions. We left feeling disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this rental late in the season unless improvements are made or expectations are better managed. We wouldn’t stay here again or rent any property from Beyond Blue Vacation because you won’t get anything beyond a property.
