'I went to several places in Sri Lanka (the more expensive and the lesser) and I can honestly say I had the best time at this accommodation. I stayed in a tent by the river and the sounds of nature are incredible. The hotel is situated practically inside the rainforest, the owner came and picked me up in the village as the accommodation is at the end of a small path and not reachable by car (which made it even more adventurous, you’re truly going back to nature). 'We spoilt ourselves with 2 nights in Ahas Pokuna. This is a truly special place. Greeted at the road side by Arun our naturalist guide we were immediately enveloped in the forest following a footpath (truly the only access) leading us up the the very exclusive camp. We were the only guest and had the middle of three tent suites/tree houses. The beautifully maintained grounds of the camp are full of birds and the staff are always attentive. 'Toted as being one of the most remote hotels in SL the hotel did not disappoint. Fabulous location and well run for such a remote site. You certainly got a sense of the rainforest by the time you got there. Our container was comfortable and the bar and dinning rooms spacious. As vegetarians we were a little bored with curry and rice yet again but it was nice not to have to face another buffet dinner as dinner was served to you.
