Amazing host! So lovely and accommodating to our changing needs. Can’t say enough wonderful things about Zoe. The cabin was so clean and comfortable and had everything and more that we needed during our stay. A wonderful place to stay. I would recommend without reservation.

Great little cottage for a Pender Island getaway!
I had a lovely stay at this cottage on a solo trip to Pender Island. I visited on a very rainy weekend and the cottage was a great home away from home! The kitchen is well appointed, there are plenty of books to read, and the host was accessible by text and was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay!

10 days of bliss
We have had an amazing 10 days. What a beautiful location and so central to everything. We both have really enjoyed the wonderful peace and tranquility of your garden. Your quaint cottage had everything and more. Enjoyed sitting on the front deck to soak in the sun. Our dog Seymour was in his absolute element and to have the host dog Keria as his new buddy was the best. He loved the new freedom to explore everywhere in your garden. Zoe you have been such a warm and welcoming host. So attentive to our needs and yet very respectful of our privacy. I don't think you have seen the last of us. Until next time.

Quiet and cosy cottage surrounded by greenery.
We had a short stay at this quiet and cosy cottage surrounded by lots of trees. The cottage is ideally located close to major viewpoints and an amazing bakery and coffee shop. The property manager is friendly and has a playful dog that comes over to visit.

Great location, very quiet
We had a wonderful 4 night stay in this beautiful cottage. Our dog enjoyed the freedom and meeting the friendly resident dog. Well equipped, beautiful gardens to relax in. We were there during a heat wave so was a little warm even with the fan going and doors and windows wide open. All in all a fabulous stay, highly recommend.

Charming, comfortable cottage
My wife and I stayed at Zoe’s cottage for a 4-day weekend in July. The cabin is on her property but completely separate. Zoe met us personally and even gave us an updated list of her favourite places to go and eat at. We made use of the barbecue and sat out on the porch for breakfasts. The cottage is inland but not far from water (really, nowhere in Pender is far from water). It is literally a 5 minute walk from the famous Pender Island Disc Golf course which is something that must be experienced, whether you’ve ever played disc golf or not. It does involve some scrambly types of terrain, especially if you are not that adept at frisbee golf. But loads of fun. All in all a terrific spot for two.

A perfect place for us with our dog, hiking boots and bikes. Zoe's landscaping is magnificent, her dog Cassie a fine playmate for our Willie and the cottage well equipped for cooking. We highly recommend North Star for couple.

Great little cottage
The cottage was thoughtfully set up and super clean and comfortable. The property is secluded and peaceful and the owners dog is friendly. The gate gives and added feeling of security. Although the floor is a bit cold in winter and the shower nozzle needs an upgrade, overall its a wonderful place to stay. Thanks Zoe!

Fabulous Cottage in a tranquil Japanese-style Garden
Our cottage was perfect in every way! The property was in such a lovely, tranquil setting separate from the main house and surrounded by a sweet Japanese- style garden. The cottage was beautifully equipped and superbly managed. The owner was always so helpful and gracious giving us lots of ideas about things we could do. We were there in August during one of the heat domes and we were able to escape it all and sit under a huge cedar tree reveling in the shade. At night we could cool the cottage with a great ceiling fan! The cottage had a very comfortable bed, all the kitchen equipment you could possibly need and lovely touches like a coffee grinder and a small group of spice jars. To top it off we could bring our two border collies who were free to wander on the property which was completely fenced.. Every morning we walked the trails with our dogs or explored the beaches.. One of our best holidays ever!

Lovely cottage and garden; hot weather!
This was a small but well organized and comfortable place to stay. It was lovely to be in a fenced garden setting where our two dogs could run free and play with the resident dog, Kira. Weather was incredibly hot during our stay so having Magic Lake for cool down swims was essential. Location was fine, but not waterfront. We would love to return in spring or fall.

Forest paradise
This cottage is adorable and cozy with a Japanese style as standing next to the cottage is a beautiful cherry blossom tree. We enjoyed the porch to sit in the sunshine and view the little woodpecker up in the tree. It was very quiet and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There are gorgeous hiking trails in the area and restaurants and beaches close by. We even brought our little pug Winston who loves it and the owner dog Kira. Zoe is a lovely lady who owns the home in front and her husband built the cottage. We can’t wait to go back. Thank you so much.

Tiny, with all the essentials. We were on the Island for a family Wedding, & were fed over the 3 days at various events associated with that. We had our breakfasts in the cottage, but had no need to cook other meals. Everything was there if we chose to cook. Good shower, comfortable bed. Birds, butterflies,flowers outside our windows.

A Gem of a Place
This place exceeded my expectations! It exuded quality in every way, right down to the kitchen knives and cotton sheets! I have never seen a place so well stocked. It even had organic olive oil and organic toiletries! It’s private and beautifully landscaped and the hosts are lovely people. I slept well on their comfy bed and I am super fussy about a good enough mattress! A highly recommended place that I give a 20 out of ten!

Fabulous place to stay
Charming North Star Cottage exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with everything we could need for a weekend on Pender. A Restful Spring Break
Thank you Garnet and Zoe for making our Spring Break just what we needed. The cottage is cozy, clean, and so peaceful. Hiking Oak Bluffs, Mount Norman and George Hill were fantastic and the look out views truly amazing! Must do hikes for anyone coming to Pender. We loved our time at your cottage. Excellent!
I loved the location, the aesthetics of the grounds, and the cottage. It was charming, efficient, spotless, warm, and comfortable; with all modern conveniences. The grounds appear beautiful and I would relish returning to see them in the Spring or Fall. The owners were lovely, friendly, and I know would have been helpful if I had needed anything. Their generous approach to their guests is much appreciated. Their dog Kira is gentle and sweet. I had a lovely mini retreat, uninterrupted sleep, and awakened to birdsong each morning - wonderful!

Charming, cozy, comfortable
Despite some serious winter weather, this place was a wonderful get-away for the two of us and the dog. It is private, well equipped, and comfortable. The hosts are friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive. Highly recommended for a stress-free break, with some good hikes on the doorstep.

Excellent Again
Second time we stayed at the cottage. It was excellent as the first time. Very clean quiet cottage with trees around. The hosts were very kind. We were at Pender partially to do some personal business and they were very nice and helpful in sharing their knowledge with us. Enjoyed playing with their Golden Poodle as well ! Will not hesitate to stay there again.
