Negatief: Personeel en service, voorzieningen en staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
Be warned that this property is "closed" from Sunday night when the bar closes (about 10pm) to Wednesday morning at about 8am. Not mentioned in their Expedia listing and they take hotel bookings regardless so if your thing is staying in an out of the way, fairly down at heel establishment redolent of scenes from "The Shining", then have at it.
The bed was clean, fresh and very comfortable though - for the one night I stayed out of the 5 nights I booked and pre-paid for.
I checked out as fast as I could but even that is a misnomer - with zero, and I mean nobody, staff on the premises, I just left my keys (to the whole hotel) at Reception and scarpered.
I was genuinely just given the keys and told to go to the Spar over the road if I wanted food and drink. As a solo female traveller, I did not feel welcome or safe. Nor did I feel it was incumbent on a paying guest to be ditched.
Also - alarmingly - the whole place smells of stale fried fish - thats the special supper on a Wednesday - but it lingers.
It's a real pity that guests are not a priority at this hotel because the village is pretty and the hotel could be lovely. Apparently the restaurant is highly rated but alas, closed, and the two teabags I was left with didn't touch sides.
