I booked a room at Odawa Hotel through Expedia for a stay from July 1 to July 3. The reservation clearly stated that the room would have two double beds, but upon arrival, we were given a room with two twin beds instead. This caused significant inconvenience due to the limited space and comfort.
When I brought this issue to the attention of the reception manager, I was disappointed with the response. I was told that if the booking had been made directly with the hotel, they might have been able to adjust the room, but since it was through Expedia, nothing could be done. I also contacted Expedia, but unfortunately, they were not able to resolve the issue either.
Additionally, I had included a special request during booking to ensure the room was clean. However, the room was not as clean as expected, and there was a noticeable unpleasant odor, possibly marijuana, which made the stay uncomfortable.
Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations, and I hope both the hotel and Expedia take steps to improve communication and service for future guests.
