De kamer zijn erg mooi en het balkon is prima. Ook het hotel is in prima staat. De buurt is extreem luid en zeker de giga hoeveelheden honden die werkelijk de hele nacht alleen maar blaffen. Ook de douche had alleen koud water en er zijn 3 schamele parkeerplaatsen op hun stoep voor de deur. Wat mij nog het meest verbaasde was dat het personeel buitengewoon onaardig was en misplaatste grappen probeerde te maken. Ook het ontbijt was erg slecht voor je 100 peso per persoon en de ontbijtjuffrouw was bijzonder chagrijnig

op 8min wandelen van het strand
playa de carmen is overbebouwd en geprivatiseerd, dus moeilijk een vrij bezoek te regelen: dit vrij recent hotel bij italiaanse eigenaars bied de mogelijkheid in rustige zone toch dicht bij het strand te vertoeven en heeft zelfs klein zwembad op het dak: eten in de buurt en wasserij enz.

We didn't like the location of the hotel as there is really nothing around (no restaurants, no café or shopping) and we didn't feel quite safe in the neighborhood. At night it was quite noisy with a lot of dog barking so we and our toddler had poor sleep. Unfortunately they had closed their restaurant without any notice which we were planning on using and the bar and events that they praise on their website don't exist at all. The staff was friendly though! Most terrible customer service we've ever experienced though was through expedia!

The room didn’t look like the pictures I saw in Expedia. The bathroom window was very dirty. Common areas didn’t look clean either. Even though in Expedia it was mentioned that it was located 5 minutes from Quinta Avenida, the front desk employee explained that we had to walk 45 minutes to get to the tourist area of Quinta Avenida. We didn’t feel safe in the hotel location, that is why we didn’t complain or ask to change rooms; I made a reservation in another hotel and left the same day. I wasn’t able to cancel the booking because I had already checked in; but I preferred to spend the following 6 nights in a clean, well lit hotel located in a safe area.

Arriver dans un hôtel loin de tout sans eau dans l'évier. Pas de chaise, pas de table , pas de téléphone. Restaurant ouvert presque jamais. Cuisinier très sympathiques, mais pas souvent là malheureusement. Pool bar décrit inexistant. Sang sur les serviettes. Je dirais que le 8 sur 10 de la description était généreux. Impossible de dormir la nuit. Chien qui jappe, bruit de bouteilles, cries. On entend tout dans l'hôtel. Tout. Il y a un puit de lumière qui unit les 5 étages. Sur ce tu entend ce qui se passe au 5e même si tu es au premier. J'ai dormi en moyenne 2 heures par nuit. Honnêtement pour le rapport qualité prix, ce fut mes pires vacances à vie. Il a fallu je demande pour avoir le safe d'installer. Après il y avait de la poussière de plâtre partout dans la chambre. Parcontre, la réception a été très sympatique pour m'avoir fait tallation.Il te donne 2 petites bouteilles d'eau au début et après tu te débrouilles. La réception m'en avait offert une autre, car j'étais dans l'incompréhension, mais sinon on m'a dit que je devais en acheter. C'est comme si tu faisais du camping indoor et c'était un hôtel non remboursable. Les points fort de cet hôtel est que les gens de la réception, le nettoyage des chambres et le cuisinier sont très sympatiques. La chambre est belle, mais vide. Il y a une piscine mais très petite. C'est un cartier loin des zones touristiques.

Beau - Bon - Pas chère
Beau, bon, pas chère, il ne faut pas s’attendre à grand chose à cet hôtel et du coup vous ne serez pas déçu. Cet hôtel m’a coûté 390$cad pour 9 nuits et j’étais à 12min en autobus (7 pesos) du centre touristique de la 5è avenue. À ce prix-là, ça fait mon plaisir. Au final, je recommande cet hôtel (qui est vraiment un 3*) pour ceux qui ont un budget limité.

Awful experience, left after 1 night, no refunds..
Please stay away from this property. Walls are paper thin, so as the doors and floors. Another guest was playing very loud music, I complained at 1130pm but nothing happened, they finally stopped at 330AM. The next morning I spoke to the manager and he said that they could not do anything, that even the police came but that their hands were tied... because that "it is how the hotel industry works and guests should just get over it". I left after the first night since he could not assure me that it would not happen again and he said that he would refund me the money. Well, he did not refund anything and after speaking to customer support, he claimed that my stay did not have any issues. In total I spent 3.5 hours on the phone speaking to customer support from hotels.com so they could move me to another hotel during they night but they asked to endure the problems. The next day I spoke to them again and they cannot do anything either, because they hotel has to approve the refund. So beware, it is a scam. Unless you are there to party, do not book. The only positive thing about the place was Florencia from the front desk, she was very polite and helpful with the check in and with suggestions about where to go near the property.

This hotel is located in the nothern part of the city. Contrary to what some have said, this area is safe, even in the evening when it's dark. The LED street lights are so bright, it looks like day time. Police car roam streets on a regular basis. So yes, we did feel safe walking the streets at night. It's a 45 minute walk on fith avenue to "El Centro", but you will find plenty of businesses on the way within 10 to 15 minutes of walking. Two public beaches are within walking distance. On 30th Avenue, you will be able to dine for less than 100 $ (Pesos). This is where locals do their shopping. We enjoyed our 11 night stay at this hotel. Remember, it's a 3 star proprety, bring your own coffee machine. There is a fridge.

The hotel staff was great. The rooms are comfortable. The noise from neighborhood dogs was almost unbearable. One night they fought and barked all night making sleeping impossible. The cafe never was open. The neighborhood has no restaurants. Shopping district is miles away. I would not stay there again.

We decided to stay here because the pictures and reviews were good but it was FAR from it. We got to the hotel and front desk was friendly. We payed $25 for remote controls for the room but that was given back at the end of your stay. We got to the room and I couldn’t believe my eyes! The room was dirty! They didn’t bother to clean the closet mirror which had lots of finger prints! The worst part was the restroom!! The restroom mirror had toothpaste splashed and water marks ALL over it! I wish I was exaggerating but I am not. The table in there is plastic, old and stained. The bed was soo soft too. It was so bad we left the next day and stayed at a different hotel. We didn’t care to loose the money we had payed for (1 week) we had to get out! Do not stay here! I don’t know how people stay there and I don’t know why the hotel staff thinks it is ok and in good condition for people to stay.

La habitación que me dieron no es ni parecida a las de las fotos, la televisión no servia, no había agua, el baño estaba horrible, las paredes manchadas y los muebles viejos. El personal era amable pero parecía que no les importaba los comentarios y/o quejas. Está cerca de la 5ta avenida pero no es donde están los comercios, debes caminar al menos 25 minutos para llegar a donde está la “fiesta” o tomar un camión, la zona en la que se localiza está un poco fea. Lo único bueno que tiene es que la playa está muy cerca y es bonita.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Punta Esmeralda! The staff was friendly and helpful, it was IMMACULATELY clean, comfortable and a great spot! Playa Punta Esmeralda was a 5 minute walk away and a beautiful beach! The little market across the street was great for snacks and drinks. 5th Ave was only a 50 peso taxi ride away. GREAT spot for the price! If you're looking for a wonderful 'boutique' hotel for your stay, this is the one!!

Interesting stay
I feel there are some mis-communications between this booking site and actual hotel. Example would be that Hotels.com said we would be booking Deluxe room with two Queen beds and hotel doesn’t even offer that option. Although the hotel was quick to accommodate us with two beds it made for an awkward exchange at check in and will rate higher due to that!

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and proximity to the beach make this a great stay. Staff really worked with me to find things I needed or figure out how to navigate the area. It's far from 5th, but you can rent bikes from a place nearby and get around pretty easily. Hailing a cab may take some time. The pool and rooftop are nice enough - no umbrellas though, so plan accordingly. Book a deluxe room if you want to access balcony or beach views.
