La Fortezza, villa met uitzicht op zee

La Fortezza is een villa omgeven door groen en in de absolute rust van zijn privépark, tussen oude olijfbomen, eikenbos en boomgaard.
Het ligt op een heuvel, op slechts 6 km van de kristalheldere zee van Polignano a Mare (BLAUWE VLAG SINDS 2008 en 5 VELE LEGAMBIENTE) met zijn prachtige zeegrotten die met boottochten kunnen worden ontdekt. De villa is exclusief gemaakt van steen, hout en glas, op twee niveaus, en wordt gekenmerkt door de aanwezigheid van een hectare park, een groot panoramisch terras met uitzicht op de zee, een solarium. De houtoven en barbecue zijn beschikbaar voor gasten om pizza's, focaccia's en buitengrills te bereiden en ervan te genieten.
Het panoramische terras, waar u kunt genieten van een prachtig uitzicht op de uitgestrektheid van olijfbomen, witte boerderijen, lucht en zee, is ongeveer 40 vierkante meter groot en is ingericht met een grote eettafel in de schaduw van drie steeneiken die "tevoorschijn komen" uit de onderstaande tuin : de houten vloer werd gebouwd met respect voor de aanwezigheid van bomen door het creëren van slots in overeenstemming met de stammen. In het park van La Fortezza vindt u bloemen en parfums en vele uithoeken van het paradijs: rotszetels waar u kunt zitten en een boek kunt lezen of naar muziek kunt luisteren, houten bedden om te zonnebaden en te genieten van de zonsondergangbries. Seizoensfruit kan direct van de bomen worden geoogst om van hun fantastische smaak te genieten. In de boomgaard twee rijen lavendel om je kasten in de stad te parfumeren! Het park is volledig omheind met een elektrische poort, alarmsysteem en particuliere beveiligingsdienst.

Gasten kunnen genieten van gratis gebruik van het park, de wasruimte, de houtoven en barbecue en de open ruimte met fitnessapparatuur.

Het huis ligt op de top van een heuvel, aan het einde van een privéweg, in de stilte en rust van de natuur eromheen. De eigenaar van het huis woont af en toe in een bijgebouw in de buurt van de boomgaard.

Bij aankomst vindt u een lijst met aanbevolen plaatsen (met bijbehorende adressen en telefoonnummers): restaurants, supermarkten, banketbakkers, ijssalons, bootcharters (voor zeil- of motorbootexcursies), stranden, plaatsen om te bezoeken in de omgeving, taxi service, etc.

Magical Spot in Polignano a Mare

We spent four amazing nights at this beautiful farmhouse and honestly, it’s one of the nicest homes we’ve ever stayed in. Warm, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with multiple terraces and an elevated deck that looks out over the countryside and the sea—just stunning.Francesca, our host, was incredibly welcoming and kind. One of the highlights was a private dinner she arranged with two fantastic chefs, Letizia and Chantal, who cooked an unforgettable meal and shared stories behind each dish.We left feeling refreshed and totally in love with the place. If you're looking for peace, beauty, and a real taste of southern Italy, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

La Fortezza is a perfect holiday home

This year we spent two weeks in Puglia, and got to know the surrounding country side and the delightful small cities near by. Francescas Fortezza was as near a perfect holiday home as can be: a large garden with various fruit trees and conifers in a colourful mix. One pond for the people and the other for the turtles. The house itself was a mixture of old and new: we liked the appreciation that was given to the work of past generations as well as Francescas own efforts to preserve the old in harmony with new additions. Thus the house was equipped with all the household items you could wish for, but also with solar panels and rechargeable batteries as a sign of a environmentally conscious host. We have been travelling all ovet Italy for over ten years and Francescas home and her positive and active attitude towards her quest has been the most impressive of all.

La Fortezza - Absolutely the best

Can't say enough great things about our stay here at La Fortezza. The house and surrounding property was absolutely gorgeous, spacious, clean and made for many memorable evenings on the patio after our day trips throughout Puglia. Francesca and Claudia are the best. You will fall in love with them as soon as you meet. Would highly recommend having Chantal make dinner for your group. It was delicious and so much fun. Thank you again Francesca - wish we could have stayed longer.

Francesca was a wonderful host always on hand for anything you need and also with some fantastic restaurant and activity suggestions. Her home is even better than the online pictures suggest with the front treehouse terrace a particular highlight! The plunge pool was also a huge hit on a hot day. The house was well equipped and has lots of personal touches that added to the experience. Location is fantastic- 10 minutes drive from Pogliano a mar but also a few local spots within walking distance! We would go back in a heartbeat!

Exceptional Residence

The residence is really nice and very well equipped. Peaceful yet very close to Polignano a mare. The property manager was very welcoming. We arranged to have their chef cook a dinner at the residence. The price was very reasonable and the food was excellent.

Francesca is the BEST!

Staying in the Basile family home was the absolute best part of our trip in Puglia. And Francesca is the absolute best host we have ever had! We highly recommend having a meal cooked for you at home by the delightful private chef. It was very easy to get to town by car, and well located for site seeing trips. We will definitely return!!

An unforgettable holiday

We had an amazing time at Francesca’s property. Everything went above our expectations, both in terms of the comforts offered and the sheer charm of the decor, the stunning views and the blissful feeling of being in wonderful surroundings. The terrace became our front room and we spent many happy hours in the dappled shade of the trees. We were five adults and all agreed that would be happily book again and again. We can also recommend the food prepared by the wonderful Laura.

Most memorable stay in beautiful La Fortezza

We loved our stay at La Fortezza. It is a sprawling property with stone exteriors in the outskirts of Polignano a Mare, with a lovely garden and outdoor jacuzzi pond. Francesca is a charming and gracious host, she had left the house very well stocked including the kitchen. She also shared many recommendations for meals and sightseeing which were appreciated. The house was spacious and comfortable for us with 3 bedrooms (one of them is compact with a single bed space but suited our daughter). If you have car, it is a great location to explore the environs. We wish we had more time on our vacation, so we could spend time enjoying Francesca’s home more. We will need to come back to appreciate Puglia and La Fortezza fully!

My family had the best stay here. We stayed for 4 days and Francesca made us feel so welcomed and was very accommodating. She made it such a memorable experience for us! A gorgeous and comfortable house as your homebase while traveling in Puglia.

We have rented many vacation homes over the years, both in the USA and in Italy, and La Fortezza is by far the best ever. The house is huge and would be perfect for a large family gathering, although we were just a family of 3. The 2 story house, built of stone and dark wood, is uniquely designed, with many comfortable nooks for reading, napping and relaxing. The house sits up high, overlooking a valley of trees and the Adriatic Sea in the distance. It's surrounded by a large tree-filled estate. The cherry trees were in season during our stay, and we ate baskets of ripe red cherries every day. We spent many relaxing hours on the tree-covered deck where there is always a breeze, despite the heat of the day. The interior decor is a wondrous mix of elegance and whimsy, with fine art mixed with fascinating antique Italian farm implements. The online photos do not do this place justice. The view through the picture window in the dining area is just lovely. The kitchen is better equipped than mine; the bathrooms are modern; the air conditioning cools the entire house; the beds and bedding are so very comfortable; and everything is so clean and in working order. Our host, Francesca, definitely respected our privacy, but was ever ready to respond in a warm and friendly way to any need that came up. She provided us with incredibly helpful information sheets in English of restaurants, stores, places to visit, local beaches and the like. We would have missed out on some incredible meals and experiences without her guidance. She also helped us arrange for a local chef to create a memorable dinner for us one evening, consisting of all local specialties. There was so much food that we enjoyed the leftovers for a gourmet lunch the next day. And finally, the fee for renting this marvelous and special home is truly a bargain. We have paid much more for much less, especially when renting a place in Italy. To be able to stay in this place is truly a gift and a memory that we will always treasure.
