Zeer mooi hotel, jammer van prijs en service
Zeer geschikt hotel voor een romantisch weekend in Sandbanks, de mooiste buurt van Poole. Hotel is modern en comfortabel, zeer statige vertrekken en gemene delen, mooi zwembad, locatie vlak aan water (je ziet zeilboten en ferry's gewoon langs de vensters van bar en restaurant varen). Zeer "British" allemaal. Kamers ruim en voorzien van state-of-the-art sanitair. Jammer genoeg lieten de prijs (wij kregen een "budget"-kamer zonder ramen en vlak boven een lawaaierige binnenkoer met generatoren, terwijl we toch ook een smak geld betaalden) en de service (de receptie was onbeholpen en onbehulpzaam, het kostte veel getouwtrek om bvb een tafel te kunnen krijgen in het restaurant) te wensen over.

Perfect location
What a charming hotel in a perfect location with amazing views of the Poole harbour entrance. Great food and a lovely bar with panoramic windows.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to learn of your disappointment with your room and the dinner menu. The sea view and harbour view rooms with balconies are separate categories from the double deluxe rooms which do not have sea views.

For £250 a night go elsewhere
Felt like a scene from cocoon. The female receptionist was curt to the point of rudeness. Walls in bedroom paper thin, so neighbour disagreements and crying children kept me up. The room was just an enlarged premier inn room, no style very plain and view was over the car park.

Property was good, however I specifically requested a room near a lift or on the ground floor, as my wife has difficulty in walking any distance .Was not informed that this was not possible, and was given a room furthest from the stairs/lift (Room 135) This left my wife in a lot of pain and discomfort on a daily basis. We should have been informed of this, that being the case we would have cancelled the booking.

Please accept my apologies for the discomfort your wife endured during her stay. You should have been informed by the booking agent and by our reservations team that our standard double rooms are at the rear of the property and so not close to the lift and also that we do not have any bedrooms on the ground floor. Where possible we would always try to upgrade anyone with specific needs but unfortunately on this occasion our high occupancy did not allow for this.

Hi Ms Butcher,I am sorry our hotel did not live up to your expectations. Only our harbour or seaview rooms have air conditioning and safes. I apologise for the inconvenience of the lift being out of service for a short period. If the booking agency had notified us of your birthday we would have put a card and home made chocolates in your room.

The hotel looked and felt cleaner than before. Perhaps some renovation had been done during Covid. The location is perfect for hiking, swimming, walking and relaxing. Will come again.

Wonderful location and beautiful views. the quality of the rooms/bathrooms are not a 4 star though. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful.

Property is run down. Our room was very tired and worn and more like a 2 star. It’s such a beautiful location and the lounges etc are stunning. Needs a full refurbishment. Staff on reception and breakfast very grumpy and a bit room. Pool staff good.

The hotel location was great, beautiful views and lovely staff. However, the food was awful so much so that I skipped the free breakfast the second day. The bed was uncomfortable and the overall experience was not worth the price tag it came with

Great hotel
Second visit and not disappointed.. room was fantastic .. balcony looking over the harbour .. within minutes of arriving we were poolside .. heated pool is lovely and views across the bay are stunning … the staff are friendly and helpful

Loved the hotel. Lots of lounge areas and never felt crowded. Beautiful location. Staff were excellent. Only thing i would improve is more choice in the restaurant for evening meal.

Dungeon Room - right on the beach!
The hotel is actually quite nice, the restaurant, food and drinks are good and the view is amazing. Just DO NOT stay in the 'dungeon room' as we nicked named it. For those booking with a 3rd party organisation, they automatically put you in the worst room, no natural light except windows that open onto the hotel air conditioning plant which roars all night. They know this is a bad 'dungeon room' and if you book direct with them they automatically offer you a free upgraded room. Very disappointing - this room should be used as a store room NOT A GUEST BEDROOM. Although the room was clean and bed comfortable - think about it - people need to have fresh air and even if it is a view of the carpark it has to be better than a brick wall and air con plant roaring all night long!!!!

I am very sorry to learn of your disappointment with the bedroom you were allocated. Did you perhaps mention this to the reception team who may have been able to upgrade you if there was availability ? From your description I believe you booked a budget double which overlooks the inner courtyard. A description of these rooms is on third party websites so as not to create any false expectation. We have priced these budget rooms at 160 whereas a standard double room in the summer months is 299, which we think fairly reflects the difference in room quality. Please accept my sincere apologies for the discomfort you experienced.

Amazing definitely going back
Rooms were lovely and tidy and comfortable very clean. Seaview room was amazing tea coffee facilities were good in the room and the reception was good when we asked for more milk. We ate at the restaurant. The food was really lovely and the bar was great atmosphere lovely and chilled

Had three nights B&B Location is amazing with boats ships going past all day right by the beach and Ferry. The hotel looks a bit tired in places. The front would look a lot nicer with a few flowers in the pots. Breakfast was fine normal hotel fare. Dinner was fine although a bit pricey .Went to sister hotels for Italian and Chinese Better value. Would return to hotel due to location but would like a balcony in what was superb weather

A great location but this hotel is very tired and in need of a major refurbishment. Outrageously expensive considering the shabby condition that it is in.

Thank you for your feedback. We have an ongoing programme of refurbishment which includes having refurbished 73 of our 84 guest bedrooms in the last 4 years and refurnishing and recarpeting all of our lounges in the last 2 years.

Thnak you for your feedback. I am very sorry to learn of your disappointment at the bar being closed at 10.30pm. On quieter days it may not be constantly manned later in the evening but there is a sign on the bar indicating to ring the bell for service. We offer drinks service to our residents 24 hours a day.
