Returning guests
This was the third time we rented this cozy place. It is perfect for relaxing and staying away from the crowd but only a quick 5-10 mins drive to Port Austin downtown area. My teenager loves going out fishing and appreciates the big TV! He can also hook up his game console so in case of a rainy day kids stay occupied. I love the well equipped kitchen that really helps with convenience and keeps the food bill down. The beach is very close, we can go kayaking too and I enjoy sitting on the large covered patio reading and having coffee. We also enjoyed fire roasted marshmallow and the tabletop grill is great too. This place has really become our favorite vacation spot because it's so cozy and Jeanne is the best host

Not a private getaway
The mobile home itself was nice and clean. There were 4 of us staying for a week. The listing says supplies toilet paper, garbage bags and a stocked kitchen. We were left 3 rolls of tp, one garbage bag (which was in the can) . No biggie, went and got my own. The next day (Monday) at about 7:40 owner pulls into property with a tow truck to get one his pieces of equipment off the property,backing in no less (beep-beep-beep). The wife came by shortly after that and asked if we needed anything. I’m not one to complain, said no we’re all set,thanks. The husband was by at least 3 more times after that for various reason. Dropping off picnic tables, picking up or dropping something off. They were there everyday multiple times a day. I know this area very well and it’s a busy area with the harbor across the street. However, I don’t think the owners should be working on a property that they are renting out.

Very nice, conveniently located place to vacation
We enjoyed our stay! It was very hot, so the air conditioning was great. The beds are comfortable and the appliances modern and clean. The giant TV was enjoyed in the evenings! It's much bigger than the one pictured. (New pics should be uploaded) It's a short walk over to the lake, however we really wished there were some benches to sit on to enjoy the view. The home is close to many beaches/parks. We most enjoyed going over to see the Petroglyphs and the Thumb Octagon Barn, which were an easy drive to go visit. If you go to get ice cream at the General Store, keep in mind a single is actually a double and a half!!

Great place with a large deck and yard.
We were very happy with our stay. The place is well kept and spacious There is a large deck and plenty of yard space for BBQ and relaxing. Jeanne was very welcoming and kept us informed about everything we needed to know in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place in a great location
We had a great time here despite setbacks such as car trouble and lack of fish for my husband to catch ;-). The place was clean and tidy, has a lovely covered porch, and we could walk across the road to the lake. The sunrises were wonderful. Our hosts were very responsive and helpful, since we arrived later than expected (due to the car breaking down on the way there!). The area is very pretty, and there are 2 restaurants within walking distance. The rental has everything you could think of, the WIFI was great (always important these days). We will definitely be returning next year.

My family and I came here for a weekend getaway. Not only is the location right across the street from Lake Huron, but the owners were rockstars. They had things for us to use, they left a detailed message on what we had in the home and things to do around town. Definitely would stay here again.

Loved it!
We LOVED this property! We could sit and enjoy a fire and look to one side and see Lake Huron. The yard was huge with lots of room for us to hang out and play with our dog. The house was so clean and tidy and had everything we really needed. The general store around the corner had amazing ice cream and we were about 30 minutes from the heart of the cheeseburger festival! Great place overall, would definitely recommend and visit again!

Good Family Getaway
This was a great location to be close to family that has a place in the area. It has been updated and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. The owner was great to communicate with and quick to respond with any questions. The large covered front porch was wonderful when it was raining and we could still be outside.

Short Summer Vacation
My wife Chris, I, and our son David stayed here during the second week of July 2021 and had a great time. The little trailer is really nice inside, clean, and with a great covered porch. We found basically everything we needed for our stay. Ray & Jeanne checked on us to make sure we were had everything we needed as well. We really enjoyed our time and the location (right across from the Grindstone boat launch). We'll be back if the opportunity presents itself for sure. It's a great location and also pretty quiet and peaceful (at least it was during midweek when we stayed - which is exactly what we wanted). Great Time - Thanks!

Great accommodations
The covered porch area was a large, cool refuge from the heat and a great place for the grandsons to play. The air conditioning worked fantastic. The sheets were clean and sold. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed walking across the street to the boat launch. It was nice to be close to the water. Unfortunately, a tornado went through the area causing the power to go out. When we notified the owners, they immediately offered us a partial refund even though they had no control over the situation. We definitely want to use this property again.

We had a great stay!! The biggest ice cream cones we've seen in our lives are just around the corner at Grindstone General Store. So many fun things to do in the area. Quiet, clean, and cozy place to relax after a day of fun!!

Bow fishing weekend
We were on the go a lot with the bow fishing competition but were very pleased that Jeanne and Ray stopped by to see how we were doing. They accommodated us with the strange hours we had due to the bow fishing hours and hopefully we will be seeing them again next year. The atmosphere was very peaceful with the birds singing and the breeze from the lake right across the street. Very nice to have a hectic day and come back to the peace and quiet that we did.

Amazing cute little place
We had a tremendous stay ! Everything was clean and there was enough room for the 5 of us! The location is close to the farmers market! Only a 5 min drive! The owners were super nice and answered every single question we’ve had. Will definitely book with them again!

Super cute place with everything you need. Check in/out easy. The large covered porch was a nice bonus. Could use a little more attention to cleaning (dead bugs, cobwebs, etc.) but it's summertime and dead bugs happen. Not much to do right in this exact location, but close to Port Austin, Caseville, etc.

Great area, right across the street from the water! Very nice and clean space and allows pets!
This was a great place to stay for the weekend! It is only about 5 miles away from downtown port austin! It is located across the street from the lake so it is perfect for those who want to kayak, watch sunset, and go fishing. The hosts was friendly and communicated promptly! (not the best phone service though keep that in mind). The home was clean and comfy and has great wifi connection! Me and my partner brought our 2 dogs with us which made the trip even better! I recommend staying here if wanting to explore port austin.

Great Little Getaway
GPS does not like this place, do yourself a favor and get the address for shelly's bar, take the turn just past the bar and go down a couple block to right where the trailer/rv park starts, it's right across the street. The place it's self was super clean and cozy. The air conditioning worked amazing (even had to shut it off in the 80 degree heat) and the covered porch made for a beautiful sunrise/sunset in even in the rain. It had all the accommodations we needed and a few little extras. The owners were really nice, and helpful when it came to answering our questions. My one complaint, if you could call it that, would be a better sign out front to help locate the property! Thank you so much for sharing your home!

GREAT "THUMB" VACATION
The mobile home was very nice and clean and in a great area for boating and fishing as Lake Huron right across the street. We met the owner Jeanne who was great and kept in touch in case we needed anything while we were there. Our 3 little Chihuahua mixes enjoyed their stay too. There is a nice restaurant/bar walking distance and another just down the road (and of course the wonderful ice cream shop that everyone suggests you must try). The biggest cones I've ever seen. Would definitely return

The cottage is cute, clean and in a great location. Jeanne and Ray are great hosts!
We enjoyed kayaking, the farmers market, art fair and a very nice meal at The Farm. Don't miss the General store for ice cream! We're looking forward to returning and would definitely stay here again!
