This home is located on the Bolivar Peninsula, in the quiet area of Gilchrist. Along with the "million dollar view" of the Gulf of Mexico, there is fantastic fishing right from the water's edge directly in front of the house, commonly bringing in Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder, as well as providing some excitement of not knowing what is on the end of the line, until it is reeled in. This beachfront home is sure to be a favorite. The open-concept living, dining, and kitchen are great for entertaining or just relaxing with the family. This comfortable home has granite countertops, a breakfast bar, and comfortable furnishings. The fireplace is for aesthetics only. Please do not try to light. The kids are sure to love the pirate-themed bunk room, which has a full/full bunk bed with a trundle underneath. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and an attached bathroom with a step-in shower. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed and beach views. There is a guest bathroom with a shower/tub combo. You can enjoy sitting and relaxing on the deck with your favorite beverages or book. Breathe in the ocean air and stare at the never-ending beach views. Plan on seeing and photographing the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets each day. There is always something different to see... And best yet..., when you are ready for some beach time, the sand and surf are just a few steps away. WIFI is available to keep you connected to stream your favorite TV shows and movies. You will enter the password and login information provided in a picture frame near the living room TV.
Even when provided, internet access, TV/cell service can be unreliable on the Bolivar Peninsula. We are a rural community. We apologize, but Bolivar Escapes cannot guarantee that these amenities will work during your stay. We cannot offer refunds for any disruption of these services. This home might have an outdoor camera(s) to monitor the exterior. Any attempt at disabling, redirecting, or obscuring the camera(s) is prohibited and may result in the guest being evicted without refund of outstanding nights’ rent. If a home has a lift or elevator, it is not for the renter's use unless otherwise stated in comments or with permission from Bolivar Escapes.
We provide linens and bath towels in every house, and standard beds are made for your arrival. Linens will be provided in the home for all sleeper sofas, trundles, and pull-out bedding. Paper products, other than toilet tissue, paper towels, and cleaning supplies are not included.
There is a starter pack consisting of the items below. Please bring anything else you will need:

All our homes are located at Crystal Beach/Port Bolivar/Gilchrist. Not Galveston.

Would Stay Again with more preparations for our family

We stayed at this beach house with two families, total of 9 people. The house was clean, very well stocked kitchen and the storage space was so nice! We all appreciated never running out of hot water after everyone coming in for the day and taking back to back showers. The location to the beach was perfect! Those who wanted to stay on the porch could watch everyone else who wanted to play on the beach. The deck also has so much seating it was perfect to have options to sit in the shade or in a lounge chair in the sun. When we arrived we were a little worried about the neighbors beside the house we rented. The men who sit in a covered tent outside the trailer house kept trying to talk to our kids. However, when the gentlemen finally talked to one of the adults in our family, he was just trying to warn us about the rip tides. Please don’t be deceived by the neighbors when you arrive, they were quiet and friendly. One thing we wish we would have been prepared for is this is a public beach. We were not prepared for the cars driving on the beach. The rental agent did tell me cars were allowed to drive on the beach with permits, but we did not really know how that would be as we had never stayed at a beach house with public access. Most of the cars observed the speed limit but several did not which was annoying when we had kids playing on the beach. With this being a public beach we also had one day where a group of people a little bit down the beach from us were drunk, cursing, and playing their music loud. Luckily our kids were having so much fun in the water, they did not notice anything until it was time to go in. These things are not deal breakers for us and it is not something the rental agents has control over, it is just something to be aware of when staying here. Next time, we will talk to our kids about watching for cars and ATVs. I would highly suggest the owners consider more seating in the living room as they only have a couch that seats 3 people so when you have a group of 9 the other people have to sit at the kitchen table or bar stools. Again, this is not a deal breaker for us since the living area, kitchen and dinning room are all open concept but more comfortable seating would have been nice in the evening when we all wanted to play games or visit. I would highly recommend staying at this house. If we return to Crystal Beach next year, we will definitely consider staying here again.

Great view, quite location.

Pros: Great location, Inside of house was clean, new flooring, rugs looked new and fresh, new washer and dryer, beds were clean and comfortable, kitchen and cabinets, tables and chairs all looked new and spotless. Bathrooms were clean and plenty of towels for the three of us. Overall nice place to stay. Heat worked perfectly, did not need A/C, but outside unit looked brand new and no funny noises with heat. Cons: No WiFi, TV worked, most of the time. Could not get the stereo to come on for some soft music. Has a fireplace but no gas or logs. Dishwasher works but not fastened in and loose. Outside: Needs a little attention. Siding on the North side was a little green. Doormats need replaced, but at least they are there. a few loose boards, but not a deal breaker. NO parking under the home? Would appreciate the shade and protection for a new vehicle. (Rain and heavy storm one night) Tables and chairs are comfortable and maintained, but some are old and showing signs of age. Two brothers on the East side look ruff with dogs and cats, but very friendly and felt comfortable.
