Portsalon makes for a wonderful base for exploring the Fanad Peninsula and boasts a picturesque harbour at Ballymastocker Bay where you will find one of the most spectacular beaches in Ireland. Visitors can try out many outdoor pursuits including golf, surfing, fishing, diving and kayaking or if you prefer to explore the region on wheels, the Knockella Coastal drive encompasses excellent views of Ballymastocker Bay and Lough Swilly. The historic town of Rathmullan, south of Portsalon provides a lovely afternoon out where you can take a tour of the Kinnegar Brewery and hopefully sample some of local produce!
