'I stayed in B2, which is a basement room. It had a VERY strong mildew odor, chipped furniture with crooked drawers, and patchwork paint on the ceilings. This room does NOT warrant the 3.5 rating that this property has, however, other rooms may be better. The shower was clean, however, so they earned one Star for that.'

'Beautiful location. It’s in the heart of Columbia but tucked away perfectly for a nice retreat. Right by a nice trail. The view of the lake is breathtaking. 'I booked this hotel because I need a place to stay while attending a party in Columbia. Maryland did not want to drive all the way back to Woodbridge, Virginia. First time being at a Sonesta and I was more than impressed. The ambiance, the cleanliness and customer service was top-notch. 'Simple outdated hotel. Beds and linen were very comfortable though.'

'They had no rooms available for hours after checkin time. Dozens of people stuck in the lobby complaining. Staff lied about how long it would take for rooms to become available repeatedly. No attempt to accommodate anybody. No list of who was even waiting first, completely unorganized. Waited an hour while the problem only got worse before just leaving and finding a different hotel.'

The continental breakfast was the equivalent of a vending machine with no hospitality. The internet was non existent for my work laptop as well as my iPad forcing me to use my cell as a hotspot. The only highlight was checking out. I started to write the MD health code department because this operation is long overdue for inspection.'
