'A unique experience. Staying in a treehouse was very high on the novelty scale. Expect a slight slope in the floor, and don't forget to close the windows before you go to bed as the monkeys are sneaky and will steal any fruit that you leave on the dining table. A fun night.
If you are averse to a staircase, this might not suit, you though.'
'They had no record of our reaction (that we had paid confirmation through hotels.com. They charged us cash to get a room. (Options in the area and time we arrived extremely limited). Had to try and negotiate an 11 check out at 9 suggested he wanted us out by 10 (place had no other guests). Very noisey all night'
'Wij hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf! De accommodatie was netjes, schoon en groot genoeg voor een gezin. Ook de locatie was ideaal – rustig gelegen, maar toch dicht bij bezienswaardigheden en restaurants.
Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam, en stond altijd klaar voor vragen of tips. Ontbijt was goed verzorgd.
Kortom: een plek waar we ons direct thuis voelden en zeker nog eens zouden terugkomen. Van harte aanbevolen!'
'Avoid this hotel at all cost. Room is infested with insects, bed bugs and mosquitos. We spent 1 hour just killing insects and sanitising the room before we could unpack. stained bed sheet and hot shower only lasted less than 10 mins and next day still no hot water, electricity supply was on and off at night, the worst was that the hotel manager did not even respond to our messages. In the hall way along the staircase, it’s full of dead wasps lying around. Also we found hair in our dinner...
'“I recently stayed here, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. When I first looked it up, I saw some older reviews that were negative, but those were from years ago when the building wasn’t finished. Now, it’s a beautifully built place—spotlessly clean, no bugs (which can be an issue in Ella), with a comfortable bed, spacious room, and a pristine bathroom. Everything was just perfect.
But the real highlight was the view. From the balcony, I saw the most breathtaking sunrises and panoramas...
'Wat een geweldige ervaring! Een prachtig gebied en een geweldige manager! Bij binnenkomst een zeer vriendelijke man met een glimlach op zijn gezicht. Nihal, de manager, verteld je met alle liefde over zijn land en over de Do's en de Dont's. Hij geeft jou het gevoel van vakantie en een beetje meer!
Het hotel heeft een geweldig uitzicht op de Ella Rock. Het gebied is adembenemend om te gaan wandelen en was in onze ogen het mooiste van Sri Lanka. '
'It's fascinating to wake up in a room with the great mountains view and tasty Sri Lank breakfast. The owner also offers tuk-tuk ride in Ella. They have one-day package and one ride. The location is a bit far fr city center, it’s better because of quiet. Each tuk-tuk ride between hotel to city center is LRK 500.'
'Heerlijke plek boven aan berg met uitzicht op waterval. Als je dit aangeeft komt iemand je aan de mainroad ophalen zodat je het steilere stuk niet hoeft te rijden. Hele vriendelijke eigenaar heerlijk ontbijt en echt de moeite waard. Als je van een beetje beweging houdt dan loop, over de trappen, binnen 45 minuten naar Ella'

'Great little friendly hotel in beautiful Ella. Walking distance to town, restaurants and pubs. The hill Is a little steep to walk but if you find it hard you can get a tuk tuk for a couple of dollars. The room was clean and tidy and had a nice balcony. Staff really helpful. Totally recommend.'

We had the pleasure of Thushanthan helping us with both directions, tips and service — and he spoke our language as well! Overall, a great place to stay for a weekend in Ella.
