Upon arrival, I discovered that the apartment I had reserved was already occupied. The host attempted to offer me a different unit located on the second floor, which I declined because I specifically reserved a first-floor unit due to the needs of a disabled family member with dementia who was traveling with me.The replacement apartment was in unacceptable condition and did not resemble the property advertised in the VRBO listing. The condition of the unit was significantly below what was represented in the photos and description. The host then instructed us to return in two hours while another unit was being prepared. We had been traveling since 4:00 a.m. and arrived around 11:00 a.m. after a long and exhausting journey. Waiting several additional hours was not a reasonable solution, particularly given that I was traveling with a disabled individual suffering from dementia. The host ultimately contacted me approximately three hours later, but by that time the situation had already caused significant inconvenience, stress, and disruption to our trip. The accommodations provided did not match what was booked, and the reserved unit was unavailable upon arrival.
