Such a wonderful place!
This is one of the most beautiful places we have stayed. The house is well appointed and spacious. The pictures online really don’t capture the beauty that is seen as soon as you walk out on the upstairs patio. Wow, it’s breathtaking! The staff (Fide, Rogelio and Carmen) are 10+. They went out their way to accommodate our group of 9. The food prepared for each meal was delicious and they made a homemade cake to help us celebrate a birthday. Highly recommend staying here!

Great Spot for a Relaxing Vacation
Dealing with our host, Jose, was a breeze. He promptly responded to each pre-trip email with useful information and then checked in with us upon arrival. The staff at the house was awesome - we had all of our meals at the house as Fide kept us well fed (it will take a few weeks to shed the pounds we gained) and Rogelio was attentive to anything that needed fixing. The area around the pools is wonderful and allowed us to spread out and enjoy sun or shade. Casa Buenavista is highly recommended.

Beautiful Mismaloya Vacation Home
We booked this property for a family vacation with our adult children, their spouses and three grandchildren ages 4-7. The home is exactly as pictured and provided beautiful and relaxing spaces for us all to enjoy. The ocean views from this home are outstanding! The staff is friendly and efficient. Fide provided healthy and delicious meals when we asked and Rogelio was always ready to provide transportation to and from the beach or Puerta Vallarta. A wonderful experience for all of us!

Magic in Mismaloya!
What an amazing stay! Jose was a wonderful host, the on-site staff (Fide and Rogelio) were absolutely superb for cooking, cleaning, and driving us around the area. Everything was included and taken care of for us (we just paid for gas and groceries). The bedroom windows didn't have blinds on them so we wore sleeping masks but not a huge trade-off when you get to wake up and look at the beautiful ocean every morning. Truly an incredible experience and stay for myself, my wife, my two young boys, and my parents. We hope to be back!

Best vacation
This was a couples trip with the girls i travel with regularly. We wanted someplace that we didn't have to worry about food or transportation and this more than fit the bill. The house is beautiful, the chef and driver are wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will be back!

Lovely Weeklong Stay
Beautiful home and great location. We went to the beach, to PV, to the local town and zoo, and for a boat day. The rest of the time we swam in the pools and were spoiled by Fide and her cooking. Would recommend! The entire staff was lovely, and Fide in particular is a gem and phenomenal cook.

My 60th Birthday Celebration
Oh my gosh! What a great time we had celebrating my 60th birthday at this beautiful villa! From the minute we walked in and were greeted by Fede and Rojilio, we knew we were in for a treat. There were four couples, each couple had their own private bedroom with a king size bed, (which was very comfortable) with a beautiful view and their own bathroom. We all gathered at the long table of eight on the veranda for our delicious meals, cocktails and fun conversation. The food prepared by Fede was so fresh and delicious, she was so kind to prepare other dishes for a couple of people who didn’t like certain things. Our days were spent in the pool under the umbrellas, listening to our favorite tunes, laughing and dancing. Rogillio drove us to a restaurant one evening and down to the beach, this was so nice not to have to get taxis. We also had two massage therapists come in and do couples massages one day, which was so relaxing. Jose, the host, was in contact several times before, during and after to answer any questions and make sure things were going smoothly. We all can’t say enough about this wonderful experience! We would definitely come back!

Unbelievably Amazing!
We kinda hate to leave a GREAT review as other people will find out the secret! BUT - if you have landed on this property - you just need to book! This house was absolutely the best VRBO home we have ever stayed at. We were 6 adults (2 parents with 2 grown children and their spouses). First - the staff is just the sweetest and most accommodating people ever. Rogelio, Fide and Came (sp?) go above and beyond each day to meet your every need. Fide needs to be on a cooking show because everything she put in front of us was simply the best cooking we have ever had. Rogelio was so sweet to drive us wherever we wanted to go. They also kept an immaculate home. We had the most fun and relaxing vacation ever. And Captain Ralph hooked us up with Jack for a great day trip through the area seeing waterfalls and snorkeling and learning the area and the culture. They were both amazing also! Relaxing by the pool, seeing the sunsets, enjoying great company and eating such great food - we were blessed beyond measure by this home and staff. The staff will forever be in our hearts. And the owner was so sweet to answer my many, many questions before the trip! We are already planning a return trip!

60th Birthday getaway
Loved Mismaloya and the awesome staff and this beautiful home. Lots of enjoyment! Location was great and having the car a real plus! Felt so safe and happy here. The previous reviews are very accurate. The only suggestion I have for improvement is there are either broken inoperable roller shades, actually only 2 in the Primary room, that have been glued and are falling apart or NO window coverings at all in the other rooms. We had a failing Air Conditioner that they had replaced or fixed quickly and a couple normal maintenance items that were handled immediately. We were very impressed as they were very nice and responsive. Overall a 10.

Beautiful, European-feel home/neighborhood
Beautiful flower pots everywhere, gorgeous view, amazing sunsets, comfortable beds, perfect layout for our group! The chef was kind and talented (DELICIOUS!), and the caretaker was very helpful. Unfortunately for our 2-day stay, the electricity was out for 8 hours, and both the chef and caretaker were off for this day (we were not informed of this ahead of time) and were not answering calls or texts. Also, the caretaker's truck was broken down so he was unable to help drive us. However, I was able to contact the owner, who was in Texas. He kindly offered to pay for any local taxi we would need! This was extremely thoughtful and generous of him. It should be noted that the 10 minute walk from the house to the local beach is quite steep and cobblestoned, and is difficult for some elderly or injured people. All in all, the house and view are beautiful, and the 2 meals the chef cooked were outstanding. However, it should have been communicated that the chef and caretaker would not be available for one of the 2 days we were there, and that they don't speak much English.

We were a group of 4 couples celebrating milestone birthdays! The house was beautiful, and the view was breathtaking. The staff was very accommodating, helped us with transportation, and made us a wonderful breakfast every morning. The location is great and walkable to the beach. We enjoyed taking water taxis to Yelapa!

Amazing Stay
Staff very helpful and friendly, they were like part of our family. Villa much larger than expected, enjoyed that each bedroom is secluded from the others. Sky cable was very good, many English language and US channels. Views can't be beat, the pools are wonderful and there is a bathroom with a shower nearby. Beach was better than we expected. We spent two of our afternoons at a beach bar called Ramada Camarena, loungers are free as long as you order drinks. Also be sure to walk into town (on way to zoo), lots of little tequila bars and a few places to eat. The walk back up to the villa is pretty steep, but doable, and Rogelio is always happy to drive you. We highly recommend taking the bus to downtown PV, as it picks you up at the bottom of the hill, and is only 10 pesos. If you want to avoid taking bus back, Uber to was only ~US$10 on a late afternoon. Again, Rogelio is happy to help with that transport as well. We agree with other commenters that this place is a gem, well worth it for a special occasion!

Amazing get-away!
We just got back from a vacation with our three adult children and their significant others. The villa was spectacular - spacious, elegant, clean and with everything we could want. All four bedrooms were truly master suites. We went on a couple of wonderful excursions and especially loved the afternoon on the boat with Captain Ralph. After our excursions, we returned to the serenity and comfort of the villa and so much enjoyed having the place all to ourselves. The staff were amazing and made the trip especially wonderful. We loved it and will definitely recommend to our friends and return ourselves!

I can’t say enough about our stay, the host, the staff, the location, the food, the graciousness, the service. Many from our group have been collaborating a quick return. The property is exactly as advertised and the posting doesn’t do it justice. A little slice of heaven. Fide and Rogelio went above and beyond for our group. Estella (the cleaner, along with the other two) was also wonderful. Jose - the host/owner, checked in with us, communicated and answered all of our questions immediately. Rogelio hooked us up for a boat cruise and hike with his friend Rafaelle and even called Rafaelle to check on us when we ended up cruising later than expected. We will be back, without a doubt. Do not hesitate to book this property. I have been to Mexico 14 times, both sides, I will always try to return here first from here on out. Thank you! It was honestly the trip and stay of a lifetime. We were a group of 10 and all feel the same. ❤️

Absolutely every review gives Casa BuenaVista 5 Stars, including this one. One of the other reviews says , stop looking and just book the Villa, I agree 100 %. The staff Fide, Rogelio and Valeria are are amazing . We were in PV for a special family event and they connected us with Captain Ralph for an excursion that our entire family is indebted to. Loved it!
We loved our stay at this villa overlooking Mismaloya Beach. Everything about our stay could not be better. The villa is fabulous and easily accommodated our family of 8 adults and 2 children. The owner Jose Font was great and the staff was extraordinary. Fide was terrific and cooked the most amazing meals, and Rodgilio could not be more helpful. The location is great with a world class view. The beach is beautiful and be sure to take a boat excursion to go snorkeling with Captain Ralph.

Couldn't have asked for a better trip
All the guests who stayed (we were a group of 10) all agreed that this was the best house we have ever stayed at, anywhere. I could not recommend it enough. The staff were over the top. They were welcoming, nice, and helpful. The meals and set up were insane and amazing, they accommodated everything, and cleaned everyday. We went for a birthday trip and we have and will be recommending this house to everyone we know. Thank you Jose for helping it the best birthday trip I could ask for!

Absolutely Beautiful and Amazing Property!!
First of all, the pictures of this listing is dead on!! Usually when you book a place and arrive, you wonder what year was the pictures posted. NOT THIS PLACE!! It is exactly what we were expecting and much much more! We only experienced one little hiccup in our trip. The SUV that we were planning on using throughout our trip, broke down the day before so we had to use taxis and ubers. Which was not any issue at all. Very easy to get into connect with and use. The host, Jose was great. He answered ALL my questions prior to our trip. We when arrived, we had the biggest spread of Mexican cuisine we ever did see. We actually ate on it for lunch the next day. Rodgilio and Fide was absolutely wonderful!! They listened to everything we asked for and accommodated us like kings and queens. We left them in charge for cooking whatever they wanted and boy, it was always so fresh and delicious. Our overall experience with this rental was for more than we expected. Not only is the house is gorgeous but everyone in Puerto Vallarta is so nice and accommodating to all tourist.

a little slice of heaven
one of the best places i've ever stayed! jose was a terrific host, answering all my questions as they came up. as for the property, it's simply amazing - epic views, wonderful shared spaces, terrific pool. the staff here is also incredibly supportive and helpful, catering to all our needs and providing delicious meals for us. our group of 9 never felt cramped up and all enjoyed ample personal space. a quick walk to mismaloya beach makes for a wonderful day trip, but you'll probably never want to leave the property.

Do not miss this one
If you are unsure about renting this property, stop reading now and do it. The place is AMAZING. For the price, it is easily one of the best villas in PV and possibly the world. To begin with, the villa is located in a very high-end landscaped gated community directly across from a very mellow 'locals' type beach with bars, restaurants and amazing sunsets. Outside of the villa, you are greeted by large gates for privacy, and once inside absolutely breathtaking views from inside and outside the expansive multi-level home. There are many areas for your group to gather. I stayed with just my wife and hung out in a new area of the villa every day. The two pools are excellent and heated. One is a wading pool, the other a deeper pool both with views of the ocean. Each room is a master suite with views of the ocean. The best part of the villa is easily Rodgilio and Fide, the live-in housekeepers. Rodgilio made a somewhat complicated transfer from our hotel to the villa with an excursion in between easy and seamless. When we arrived at the villa tired from an adventure, they had the house stocked completely with everything from our shopping list with an absolutely amazing multi-course Mexican dinner prepared. Every day we said 'dealers choice' for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they did not disappoint. Rodgilio is available for the quick drive (under a minute but a big hill) to and from the beach. Will absolutely be back!!!

Fantastic Get A Way
Beautiful villa, well appointed and charming. The view of the sunset and bay were breathtaking. The villa is a distance from downtown PV and the marina but Rogelio’s SUV got all 10 of us everywhere we wanted to go.. Probably the best aspect of staying at Casa Buena Vista was the staff. We never had to eat at restaurants because Fide is such a fantastic cook and bartender. Valeria was also very friendly and helpful. They truly made they trip so carefree and memorable. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa and plan to return next year. Thank you Jose for all your help!!

Magical trip to Mismaloya
We had a party of nine that stayed at Casa Buenavista over the Christmas holiday this year. The experience was everything we hoped for! Jose was in contact with me prior to our trip to help with questions and plan for our arrival, and checked in before we departed. The property was amazing, in all aspects, with impressive views of the bay below. We actually saw whales migrating several mornings while having coffee on the patio! The hospitality provided by Fide, Valerie and Rojelio was exceptional, they take care of so much behind the scenes to ensure the guests have a fantastic experience and they felt like family by the time we left. We are all completely spoiled by the amazing meals Fide prepared, our options for Mexican dining back home will never measure up…. Yes, it can be a strenuous walk back up hill from the beach, but we enjoyed the workout and calories burned. Additionally, Rogelio was always there to give us a lift if needed. It was a great layout with the rooms on different levels as it allowed everyone to have separate space if needed or be together collectively. We loved our stay at Casa Buenavista, miss being there already…..

The most beautiful lovely Mexico vacation
This place was amazing. Jose, the property owner, called a few times to check in which was very nice. The view and the house are unbelievable. I can not say enough wonderful things about Fide who cooked all our meals and was so attentive and helpful. Her food is amazing! Both her and Rijelio were great. I agree with other reviews that it is a bit more than a 5 min walk to beach but the views and hospitality more than made up for it. We will be returning for sure! Love love love this place!!

Amazing Stay in Puerto Vallarta
We absolutely LOVED our stay at Casa Buenavista! The house was beautiful and the staff took incredible care of us. The view is stunning, and the grounds and house are beautiful. Each room is large and has its own en-suite bathroom, so that was great as well. The owner was helpful and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. The only thing to note is we were told it was a five minute walk to the beach, but it's more like 15. The younger people in our party had no issue with it, but it was too steep and too far for our elderly parents to walk. The chaffuer (there is a Suburban available to take you where you want togo) was always happy to drive, so it wasn't an issue, but I wouldn't really consider it typical walking distance to the beach. The mountain view overlooking the ocean more than made up for the distance.

Satisfied could be maybe better
We were there for 7 nights. Jose the owner is very nice and easy to communicate. Employees, Fide, Ester and Rijelio are amazing. Nothing is too much for them and always with a smile. Rijelio took us anywhere at any time with no complaints. As for the property, very nice and nicely located. However, a few things first of we didn’t appreciate that on Sunday there were no employees and we were not told in advance. I understand they need a day off but we should have been told as we paid for seven nights. The water pressure is an issue but maybe normal for Mexico. At times you have to wait 10 minutes before you get hot water. I think Jose should invest in some WiFi speakers as one doesn’t want to connect the phone to the system and leave it up there. The only other issue we had was none of the rooms or the main house locks work. Again maybe normal for the area but should be fixed. The AC units for each room is good but we didn’t really know how to operate it. Upon arrival none of the ACs were on so it was ver hot. Again not a big deal. Overall the only big issue was Sunday no employees otherwise we loved it all.

Paradise found!
We just returned from a week stay at Casa Buena Vista and it was one of our most memorable carefree vacations with our extended family that included 2 small children ages 2 and 5-the kids pool is a definite plus. From planning with the host Jose, to the day of arrival, Fide, Ester and Rogelio ensure you have what you need and take excellent care of preparing meals and ensuring your comfort while at the villa. The view of Mismaloya's bay from the house is simply amazing and each night's stellar sunset was complimented by Fide's excellent meals she prepared with love! We can't wait to bring our family back for another memorable and excellent vacation experience.

Wonderful Christmas celebration!
House is amazing, staff (Fida, Rogelio and Estelle) are delightful, and owner Jose is a gracious host! Jose called several times before and during the trip to check on our stay. Fida cooked the most amazing meals, Rogelio took us anywhere we needed to go day or night, and Estelle kept the house immaculate and even did our laundry so unpacking when we got home was a dream. We travel to Puerto Vallarta several times a year and this was our first time staying in Mismaloya. The staff at Casa Buenavista (and of course the beautiful home) are the reason we will return! Thank you for making this holiday season extra special!!!!

The pictures of the house don't do it justice at all! I can't express in words how happy we left!
Let me start by letting everyone know that PV is extremely safe when it comes to COVID. Every location around the home is doing their part at making sure they protect themselves and all the guest. They are constantly cleaning and making sure that masks are worn by all the staff. Every location we went to made us feel very at ease. Now to the house and our experience. For starters let me say this again, the pictures and description on VRBO don't do it justice. This house is beautiful. Extremely clean and very well kept. The rooms are all very spacious with strong air conditioners. Each room has a perfect view of the ocean. It was amazing to wake up to the view every morning. Watching the sun rise and sunset from our room balconies or shared balcony was our daily ritual. And one who stays here needs to take advantage of that. It breath taking. We took advantage of the pools a lot on our trip. Nothing like waking up in the morning and jumping right into a pool overlooking the ocean. At night the pools are very well lit and have a speaker system that you can hook your phone up to. It was all we needed! Now to the real reason I felt the need to write a review. I'm typically not a "leave a review" person. I've never left a yelp review, never take surveys for anything, but this time it was a must. The home owner and staff are what set this house apart from any other property I've stayed at. The owner Jose called me personally days before my trip to check in with me and make sure he answered any questions or concerns I had. He would call to check in with us every few days during our stay to make sure we were happy or if we needed anything else during our stay. He genuinely cares about his guest. He takes pride in his service and it shows. And last but certainly not least are the 3 staff members. Fide, Esther, and Rogelio go above and beyond to make your stay exceed any expectation you can dream of. They took care of us all like we were part of their family. They will do everything from make you the best meals of your life (we had 2 chefs in our group and they were shocked at how AMAZING the cooking was), to drive you a few hours away to check out secret beaches, to make you soup and tea if you have an upset stomach from too much drinking at the beach, to help you wash or iron clothes, to set up fishing trips, jet skies, ATVs, boat trips, ziplining. They are all very attentive people. Again, they are really really care about their guest.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Buenavista immensely. If you are looking for a quiet place to come back to after a fun day trip to the Vallarta Botanical Gardens or Boca de Tomatalan, this is the spot! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The view of Mismaloya was breathtaking.

Our family of 5 adults were totally spoiled by the meals & transportation provided by Fida & Rogelio. Communication with Jose was quick & accommodating. This is by far our best VRBO ever. Privacy was available and also many group common areas. All meals were fabulous. Very clean. Thanks to all for a great week allowing the family to reconnect.

Christmas in PV
Me and my family chose to spend Christmas and New Years here. There was 7 of us and we could not have asked for a better experience. Fide made the best meals and was so sweet making sure all the snacks I wanted were stocked and even made special meals for me as I am pregnant. Fide made the yummiest New Years Ever meal with steak, lobster, mashed potatoes and salad plus tres leches for dessert. Her crepes in the morning were delicious as well. The house is not too far from town and Regellio booked an awesome excursion for us that left from mismaloya and took us snorkeling, hiking, and to a secluded beach. The house is beautiful and the views are amazing. We even saw whales! I would highly recommend staying here if you are considering it! Jose was also wonderful at communicating before the trip and helped us arrange things while at the house as well.

Beautiful home and the staff were AMAZING
We absolutely LOVED our stay at Casa Buenavista. From the moment we arrived until the time we left we received top notch attention from Fide and Rogelio. The villa was always kept clean, the food was excellent, and we really enjoyed the ability to get around with the provided transportation, which allowed us to incorporate a lot of excursions and activities into our trip. The beach at Mismaloya, including fishing/snorkeling/sightseeing by boat is just minutes away by car - again, with transportation provided --- both ways! Once dropped off at any location we would confirm a pick up time and place with Rogelio and he would always be there to meet us at the exact time and place we had agreed upon. All of our rooms were cleaned and made up on a daily basis as well. Casa Buenavista in and of itself it truly beautiful and well-maintained. The pools were great, and the view was spectacular, and the rooms were air conditioned. Casa Buenavista is a place I would definitely stay at again, and would recommend to family and friends alike.

Amazing house, location and staff
I couldn't have been more happy with my stay at Casa Buenavista. The house has an incredible view overlooking Mismaloya beach, which is about a 10 minute walk away. The bed rooms were all spacious and very well kept. I really like the Mismaloya location because its a beautiful 15 drive to the old town/Malecon area and a less than 5 minute drive from Boca de Tomatlan if you wish to adventure to Las Animas or Yelapa. The house itself is over 20 years old and has definitely been updated, but isn't ultra-modern with an infinity pool and Bluetooth sound system like some of the brand new places in the area This didn't matter to our group because of how beautiful and well maintained the house is. As others have written the house staff, Fide and Rogelio, really made the experience special. I had never stayed at a place with a staff before so wasn't sure what to expect going in but they were extremely welcoming and helpful. The food they prepared for us was always restaurant quality delicious and very clean. No one got sick during our stay. They also have great local knowledge of the area and recommendations for your adventures. If you need a quick ride down to Boca de Tomatlan or headed all the way to Punta de Mita Rogelio will load everyone up in the Suburban and take you there. I hope to return soon and highly recommend!

Amazing Villa & Staff!!!!
From start to finish Jose and the staff are truly amazing people. Jose the owner is very communicative and is very fast at returning calls & emails. The house is just amazing. The location is awesome just about 25 minutes South of PV in Mismaloya. The house staff Roglio & Fida are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Fida is an amazing cook! She cooked 4 dinners for our family of 8 during our 5 day trip. Fida also made breakfast and had coffee ready every morning. Drinking coffee and the amazing views on the upper terrace can't be beat!!! Rogelio was our driver as the house comes with a large SUV to be shuttled around in (make sure to fill it up before you leave). Couple things to pay attention to. Playa Mismaloya which is at the bottom of the hill. The beach is infested with sand fleas, you can read Trip Advisor for more information. My family was severely bitten by these nasty little bugs. No sand fleas at the Villa I'd like to mention. Can't drink the water at the Villa!!! Be very careful about this. Brush teeth with bottled water. If there is room in the SUV go to Costco before you arrive at the Villa, this will save time. Don't worry if you forget anything on your list, there's a few little stores at the bottom on the hill that Rogelio can run down and grab for you. Also, the staff has very limited English, which isn't a problem, we used Google Translate quit a bit to communicate. The Villa does have WiFi. I would 1000% recommend this Villa!!!! Hope you enjoy!

Beautiful house with great service.
My extended family stayed for the week of New Year's (6 adults, 4 children). The house itself was beautiful, had lovely views, and was just as pictured. The staff was wonderful! They made us feel welcome, prepared great food, and had good recommendations on activities. They were great with our kids, who loved getting to practice their Spanish with them. The house is better suited for adults and older children. There are lots of stairs, and you have to go outdoors to get to three of the five bedrooms. There is music at a near-by resort every night that sometimes goes pretty late. Also, the nearest beach is very crowded in the afternoon. I would recommend going in the morning and planning to leave by 1 or 2 pm. The nearby zoo was great: interactive and very fun for kids. We would love to come back, our children miss Fida and Rogelio!
