Negatief: Staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
Calling this property a "resort" is a stretch. There is a very small pool, a basketball court and two fire pits. The cabins are close together so not much privacy if you're outside. Upon opening the door to our small cabin we were greeted with an unpleasant old/musty odor. A friend who lives in Rapid City brought us a diffuser to try to mask the smell. There has been some remodeling done in the cabin living space but the kitchenette is original and the bedroom carpet was matted, crusty and gross. The windows and window sills were dirty. The beds were firm but ok to sleep on.
Pros: Check in/check out was easy but I never saw the office open. It's located next to a park with a beautiful lake. The two fire pit areas were nice.
In closing, when I made the reservation for Canyon Lake Resort I thought I was booking the adjoining property called Lake Park Campgrounds and Cabins. I've stayed there before and it's an upgrade. Lesson learned! I won't be making that mistake again!
