So the roof is the ceiling and you can hear every raindrop, and the howling wind cuts through the walls. In the morning you hear the cleaning trolley wheels, the maids, and guests talking outside their rooms. Then one morning at 5 am the fire alarm went off.

The site was in the middle of a busy area. It seemed like it was on the strip with loud cars at night and loud delivery trucks in the morning. The room also had a musty smell like it hadn't been uses in a while.

Staff was helpful and attentive, room was adequate. Shower was above average. Lots of local traffic noise. Price was ok. Heater was very loud. Breakfast was minimal, no real dairy products such as 1/2 and 1/2. Nice donut shop around the corner. Location in the middle of town was a mixed blessing, it was near a very busy street so lots of traffic noise, but it was nice to walk around and see that area of Redding.

It’s a very convenient and affordable motel when you’re just staying one night. However, the duvet cover on our bed was dirty, the bed itself was fairly uncomfortable, and there was dirt in the corners of the bathroom.

The blonde woman at the front desk was very friendly and professional, she made us feel very welcomed. The room was a bit outdated but clean. Morning breakfast was minimal but did the job of getting it quick.

We were able to check in early, it was quick and easy...--BUT:::Open the door, dead cockroach on the floor, well worn out furniture, turned on heater--load noise and stunk. Mini fridge sounded like a train, " Breakfast included" was a broken waffle maker,( sorry) bread, no coffee ( out) warm yogurt, and something that looked like orange juice...a joke... I would not stay here again.

Thunderbird Lodge was a blind pick during a roadtrip my partner and I were taking. We needed a last minute room with a hot shower and warm bed, in an area we just stopped in for some gas. We checked in after midnight and were still greeted with a friendly staff member and directed to our room, we left without using a lot of the on-site amenities but even without this place is a 5/5! Superbly priced, with great on-site appliances that can be used (coin laundromat), a pool (open for the winter but we’ve got thin skin), and continental breakfast! When we got to our room it was clean and smelled lovely and the toiletries provided are of very nice quality and don’t smell gross or sterile, they actually smell rather nice. Again, would highly recommend this place as a good lodging stay, it’s worth it! The only downsides is that it is in the heart of the city centre, so on weeknights you’ll be hearing foot traffic and the train, and weekends the parking situation is insane along the street if you leave for food/activities. But for quick stops, its a hundred-and-ten percent worth the competitive price tag.

I love the old school Thunderbird sign and logo. Pool was closed while we were here, but breakfast room was very clean and bright. Def bring earplugs as the real thunderbirds were vrooming around (motorcycles and airplanes). Was able to park right in front of our room. Would stay again…good value for money. Warm in Winter:)

I have stayed here before. A good value and convenient to dining, some shopping, and freeways. Room was clean, staff was helpful. Another pillow would have been nice. The bathroom sink hot water faucet was very difficult to turn off completely - it swung back and forth, not really stopping to turn off. It was a balancing act, and even then it was slowly dripping. Other than that, it was a good place to stay.

The Thunderbird is a nice, quiet place in the center of Redding. It is walkable to local events, like the performing arts center. The city put resources to rebuild commercial and retail businesses in the city center, and this hotel is convenient to all. The hotel is a little dated, but it is well maintained and comfortable.
