'Staff were incredibly attentive and nice. Even with the language barrier they went above and beyond using Google Translate to explain the courses of our dinners and breakfasts, as well as information about the town. The hotel was slightly out of town (15mins walk) but they have a shuttle that was basically on demand. We wanted to go into town for the night and they dropped and picked us up at our desired time. 'Tocen Goshoboh has been an amazing place to stay. We especially appreciated how uniquely (historical) technological elements are thoughtfully blended with the traditional Japanese atmosphere. The onsen was truly special, and the staff—particularly our nakai-san—were extremely helpful and welcoming. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic ryokan culture.'
