Be wary of choosing Hotel Wave of Rehoboth Beach!
One of the prime reasons we choose this hotel was that it advertised having a spa/hot tub. Upon arriving there on October 31, 2025, there was an old-looking, partially-torn sign pasted to the reception desk saying that the spa was not working right now, but it was being worked on and would be fixed shortly. We asked the front desk attendant, who claimed to be the manager, if the fix was expected that evening, otherwise we didn't want the accommodation and would cancel the reservation. She said she was working on the fix herself and that we could not cancel. We said that was unreasonable but we would stay that night, and if the spa wasn't fixed the we would leave the next morning.
We called Expedia and their person who said he would contact the hotel, try to resolve the issue, and get back to us. The next morning the hotel manager told us the spa was still inoperative, but she would not give any refund for our two remaining nights. We argued with her and asked for her name, which she refused to give us. Not wanting to get any more upset, we checked out of the hotel. We never heard back from Expedia and each time so far we have tried to get ahold of another representative there we get a "Technical difficulties" message.
This has been a frustrating experience in every way.
In addition to the lack of fulfillment of the advertised spa, the room had no closets or drawer space and there was debris in some of the scanty furniture.
