Great stay near Government Camp
The house is clean and comfortable. The location is good about 20min from Government Camp and 20min from Sandy. The hot tub on the deck is a major plus. Susan is a great host and is very responsive. Would recommend to others.

Just what we needed
This was a pleasant and uncomplicated stay in a well apportioned cabin with easy access to fun in the snow and a delightful hot tub to enjoy! The hosts communicated clearly and check in and check out was simple. The only thing I would mention to hosts is that my very tall husband was immediately aware of how dusty higher places were: dust and cobwebs hanging from the skis over the couch, and the overhead fans had such thick dust buildup we decided not to turn them on at all!

Welcome to the Woods !
Comfortable cabin in a densely wooded neighborhood within walking distance of the Sandy River. Despite other cabins nearby, it was extremely private with a seasonal creek flowing within feet of the back deck and very convenient access to local hiking trails and good restaurants. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect getaway
This is probably our 5th or 6th time staying at this property in the last 10 years. Great location in an ideal setting backing up to gorgeous mountain forest views. Owner is wonderful and has great communication. Well taken care of property. Has everything you need and more. Our kids 4 and 8 months loved our stay. Would definitely recommend to friends 10/10.

Exactly what we needed!
We wanted to be surrounded by wilderness and beauty and this place definitely delivered. There was great food nearby and Mount Hood right up the road for picture perfect scenery. We loved everything about this stay. The toilet handle was loose and needed care when using to ensure a flush was achieved and that the toilet didn’t run. Other than that, we had no issues. We would definitely stay here again and suggest anyone else to as well. There was a super easy binder with instructions from the owners on what they expected while we were there and what to do before we left. It was very helpful. We will always cherish the memories we made at this location.

Thoughtfully crafted, furnished and well kept; Great location; Secluded, yet proximal to places
We have stayed in a lot of cabins. This figures among the best. First, the construction of the cabin. This one shows us how, for a given footprint, a cabin can be built and furnished to give a sense of spaciousness and coziness at the same time. The glass panes around kitchen is a genuinely great idea, giving you the view of the woods while cooking. The thoughtfulness doesn't end there. Deck with a covered portion and open area, a pine tree through the open area of the deck, strung tungsten lights around the deck, living room with pullout which is spacious (not just to get by), movie collection that can put Netflix streaming to shame, dining table which is a crafted slab of an old trunk including its cracks and rough edges polished to perfection, unique flooring, spacious shower with windows that give you a feeling of showering in the wilderness, yet with plenty privacy, and the best of all, sliding mirrors behind bathroom sink which doubles as window that opens out the woods while you brush in the morning. It brought back memories of being at my granny's backyard, but with modern amenities. The loft/mezzanine area is perfect for kids with a bed and a pullout sofa. Doors open to a balcony that gives you a feeling of being in a castle. The location is perfect for someone who would like to explore the Mt.Hood and Columbia River Gorge area. Although it is not far from civilization, it gives you the seclusion of being in the wilderness. A small path that goes over a dried up stream (perhaps it flows in spring), can lead you into moss covered dense pine forest that can limit your view to less than 20 feet. A hammock next to the deck, a hot-tub on the deck, a patio set and a dining set on the deck completes your needs and your wants of staying in a perfect cabin for a family vacation, set away from the daily hustle and bustle. Did I mention that you have a full laundry and a decently equipped kitchen with dish washer, fridge/freezer with icemaker, a waffle maker and such? You gotta stay here. Thank you, Susan and Scott, for having thoughtfully done this! Only improvements I can suggest are, have a few clothes hooks in the bedroom/loft and replace the waffle maker if you can. Had a slightly hard time getting waffles off it :) Perhaps keeping a oil spraycan helps. We felt guilty getting water from shower spray on those nice wooden wall finish in the shower.

Beautiful
This was our first trip to Oregon and this was a gem of a property, with serene lush green nature all around. The cabin was well stocked. We enjoyed farm animal shaped waffles maker. All the equipment was well maintained. The kids could watch Ice Age movie. Bedrooms are cozy. They had hooked up a hammock outside. Susan was very responsive. The scenic gorge just about 45 min to 1hour away and the route is beautiful.

Amazing Honeymoon Location
Me and my wife loved our experience here! It was really close to the Skibowl where we went on the alpine slide and various attractions. I was surprised at how close the cabin was to a store which ended up being very convenient. The river was right next to the cabin and it was beautiful. Overall an amazing experience and worth the stay.

Nearly perfect
The house was great! It felt like we were sitting right on the edge of the forest, and the windows captured that feeling. The kitchen was surprisingly large for the size of cabin, and was pretty well stocked (I couldn't find cooking oil, but that was all that we were missing). The hot tub was a real hit with the kids (I think they used it at least 3 times each day) and the hammock was a favorite as well. There was a slight musty smell to the house, which we quickly went 'nose blind' too, but couldn't seem to entirely get rid of, but it wasn't that much of a problem. The only downside is that the beds were FIRM (aka hard as a rock). I suggest investing in some good mattress toppers to make the beds more comfortable.

This cabin was amazing! I can't say enough on how much we enjoyed our stay from the pool to the hot tub it was a trip we won't forget. The location is perfect close to hiking trails and plenty of views of Mt Hood nearby.

Wonderful Cabin Getaway
Our stay was wonderful! The location was absolutely stunning and made for a relaxing getaway. We had six adults, so any longer than the 2 days we stayed there and it may have felt more cramped, but for a short trip with close friends it was enjoyable. There were a couple aspects of the house that seemed like maybe they hadn’t been used in a while so they were fairly dirty looking (ceiling fans) but other than that the house was relatively clean. Overall, we really enjoyed our trip!

We should start by letting you know that we just stayed at a awesome VRBO just the week prior so it was easy to draw comparisons and this property left us feeling a little let down. There were some little things such as Everything in the cabin was farely worn and some of the pans wouldn't wash clean Knives were so dull you could barely use them Christmas decorations were still up and it's nearly June Deck clearly hadn't been swept all Winter, had to do a deep sweep and clean off the outside table before we could enjoy it. I know that the pine needles are inevitable but I wish someone took a little care to just clean it once before we came. Great internet but no way to watch Netflix or any other major streaming platform on the TV but they do have hundreds of pirated movies on a storage device connected to an ancient blu ray player. We could have moved past all these things I think but the thing that bothered us most were all the little passive aggressive notes all over the house. They clearly have had some bad renters in the past based on the cigarette burns on the outside furniture but still didn't come across well. Felt like I was being pestered by a Karen while we were there and did not make us feel at all welcome or at home. The view is lovely, the home is beautiful just wish they would have cleaned off deck knowing that guests were coming, join us in present day and download Netflix (honestly would have used my own account if Netflix were at least downloaded) and take down the passive aggressive notes. You already cover how you'll charge $200 if people break the rules in the three ring binder, you don't need the notes.

We have 3 VERY SMALL stickers that you cant barely see that say "don't use the deck as an ashtray' and to "please dry off on the mat" and "turn down the heat when you leave". These are less than a 1/2" tall and 2" long. Wow! Sorry that we are looking out for our property! Our Christmas decorations have been down for months. We decorate with different types of trees made of different materials, driftwood and metal and sticks etc (hence the name Silver Cedars). They aren't Christmas trees. Blue Ray Players are they way do play hard drives and show me another VRBO with so many movies. You can watch Netflix easily as many guests have. And when we give you over 300 movies, who needs Netflix! My husband built an amazing cabin with super unique features. He built the most of the furniture, milled the trim out of a fallen tree, constructed one of a kind floors and concrete countertops himself and we have an amazing view. Maybe you were not focusing on the right things!!!

Wonderful Getaway!
We had a great time at this beautiful cabin with so many unique, custom features. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! You're close to hiking, skiing, and all that Mt Hood has to offer, including the amenities of Zigzag. Coming back from our busy days to relax our muscles in the hot tub was great! It was the perfect home base for a relaxing week.

Great getaway from city life!
This place was private, wooded, and wonderful! Hot tub was great! The creek out the back door was so peaceful! There is also a nice trail along the sandy river that took about a minute to walk to. No car needed! The pictures really do convey an accurate description 😊

Great for families
This place was so perfect to visit with young children. They had everything we needed to keep the kids comfortable and happy. You can tell this cabin in well-loved by the family that owns it. It's a little closer to the other cabins in the area than we expected, but it feels very private due to the direction it faces and the privacy wall they have built for the hot tub. We can't wait to come back in the summer and use the community pool!

We stayed 3 days and celebrated our Thanksgiving Holiday at the cabin. They had everything we could have possibly needed. They literally thought of everything. The cabin was beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. If you are considering renting, do it!

Appliances were noisy and old but functioned. We had to do laundry and dishes when we left for the day or night as the appliances were so loud. Frig froze everything on the top shelf and when we got there it was set to 3. We set it to 1 and the fruit on the top shelf still froze. Pool was closed. The cabin in general was nice and clean and the beds were great. The setting and hiking around the cabin was great. The hot tub was spectacular once we got the chemicals adjusted. It was a good base camp per se for our various trips. Thank you!

We have installed a new dishwasher and new washing machine since this post. The pool was closed due to Covid. We havent had any issues with the fridge.

Beautiful cabin facing the woods. The next door cabin is only visible from the front. The hot tub was perfect and private. We stayed on the bottom floor because the bathroom is on the main and I can't do stairs. But the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I would change is the option to cover the front door window. It looks straight to the back of the cabin and it weirded me out. We would definitely rent here again!

Myself and 4 friends were all very comfortable in this relaxing mountain cabin. Checking in was very simple and Susan was just the right amount of communicative. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was hot. The wrap around deck made sippin a beer staring off into the forest that much more comfortable. Highly recommend booking a stay here. 10/10.

The windows in this cabin had excellent views of the forest. Another smaller cabin was very close but no one was in it when we where there in late August. So it was very private for us. The appliances like the wash machine and dishwasher were a little noisy. The free movies were great. Very well located as home base for any activities in the Mt Hood and Columbia river area. Had a few cobwebs hanging around, but you are living in a forest. So no big deal. Had a good time hiking several trails and kayaking on Trillium Lake.

Nice cabin which includes a separate bedroom below and a bedroom in a loft which opens to the common area. One bathroom. We had no issues with anything (though kitchen sink faucet needs o-ring replacement and leaks a little). Close to west side Mt Hood Hiking Trails/Salmon River. The property is located in a development of houses that appear to be a combination of owner occupied and vacation rental. I had read previous reviews and was concerned about privacy prior to renting. The back of the property is private and wooded but there are two other cabins (front and side which are very close). Neither of these happened to be occupied during our stay fortunately but the pictures don't really illustrate how close they are if you are looking for a complete back woods feel this property doesn't really have it..

Restful & fun!
We loved celebrating my husband’s 30th birthday at this home over this long weekend! Really enjoyed using the BBQ and hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living room was a great place to relax. We enjoyed the quiet mornings on the deck, with our coffee, and viewing creek in the back. We would definitely come back to this little home away from home!

Nice Cabin in an Amazing Lacation
My husband and I celebrated our 37th anniversary in Oregon. We’ve wanted to visit for a long time and did a lot of research beforehand. There is so much to see that we wanted to optimize our experience. The location of this cabin is perfect. We took a few day trips: the Columbia River Gorge, drove into Washington and through The Dalles, up to Timberline Lodge, and there was still plenty to do. The cabin itself is exceptional. The pictures are point on, and the outdoor space is equally beautiful. Although there are neighboring cabins, it was very private and cozy. We had a couple of small issues when we arrived but nothing that couldn’t be easily remedied. Susan was quick to respond and great to work with. If you’re looking for a rental in this area, this little cabin won’t disappoint.

This cabin was perfect for our honeymoon! The peaceful and well-stocked cabin felt like a home away from home. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay... we really didn't want to leave! We also loved the close access to all the wonders of Mt Hood.

Had a Blast!
Snow skiing on the 4th of July! Yep, you can do that. Experienced only. The cabin is located just before you get into the national forest. It's located in a quaint little neighborhood. The coast is just a day trip away so are Mount Saint Helen and the other mountains in the region. Don't miss Timberline Lodge or the Gorge. Cabin was well equipped with everything you possibly could need. Thou there's no cable for television there's plenty of things to keep you occupied Netflix etc. that the owners have provided. Good places to eat close with groceries too. We would recommend the cabin to anybody. A good home base camp! 48 degrees in the morning 77 peak afternoons. These 2 Floridians were loving life. Just across the street a path leads to the river. Perfect to relax with a glass of wine.

Cute but not private
We were looking for a place that was secluded and private for some much needed R&R. This cabin is cute and the back deck and hot tub area is private. But we were told there was only "an additional" cabin and no one had ever been there while the owner was there. There are actually either 3 or 4 other cabins that sit right on this very tiny cul-de-sac, all within a stone's throw. I would suggest the owner put a curtain or blind on the front door, and replace the ones on the bedrooms since they are see through, to help with the privacy issue. Towels and sheets had the sour funky smell from sitting in the washer too long, which to me was very offensive.

Last Weekend of 2017
My girlfriends and I took our teen daughters to the cabin the last weekend of 2017. Clean and a great location we enjoyed hours of no TV with just games and laughs to fill our time! Perfect for a group like ours, the girls had their own space upstairs. The ONLY downside, wish their was snow, but we can't control La Nina! I will definitely look forward to staying again on a couples trip, or just a romantic weekend away!

Wonderful getaway
The house is besutiful, cozy cabin perfect for 2 couples, bathroom was beautiful with huge shower. Kitchen was well stocked and great for cooking meals. The hot tub was amazing, great privacy in the back too. The beds were very comfortable with flannel sheets. The TV was nice, the internet was very spotty so couldn't enjoy Hulu or Netflix but there were plenty of movies loaded on the TV. FYI there wasn't much cell phone reception out there either, but we enjoyed being disconnected. It was easy to find, good parking spaces for 2 cars. My only complaint is the cleaning fee, it was $85 and then we were still expected to clean the kitchen, start the dishwasher, strip thr beds, start thr laundry. For that high of a price I don't expect to do any cleaning.
