Bosrijke nieuwe hut op Sandy River en 10 Miles van skigebieden

Silver Cedars Cabin ligt op 16 km van Government Camp / Mt Hood langs de Lolo Pass Road in Zig Zag Village direct aan de Sandy River. De hut is gelegen aan het einde van een weg met een spectaculair uitzicht op een 22 hectare groot bebost perceel en een kreek het hele jaar door. De cabine is volledig gerenoveerd vanaf januari 2009 (alleen de lijst is origineel). De cabine heeft een moderne / rustieke uitstraling met handgemaakte, op maat gemaakte meubels, unieke vloeren en een uniek betonnen aanrecht met gerecycled glas. U kunt ook ontspannen op het grote dek (gedeeltelijk overdekt) aan de zijkant en achterkant van de cabine met uitzicht op de kreek en een bubbelbad.

De slaapkamer is een open zolder boven met een queensize bed en een uitschuifbaar futon tweepersoonsbed. De slaapkamer beneden heeft ook een queensize bed. De woonkamer heeft een gloednieuwe queensize slaapbank.

De Sandy River ligt aan de overkant van de straat. Er zijn tal van paden op loopafstand en een gemeenschappelijk zwembad / tennisbanen net op de weg. De skigebieden, waaronder Ski Bowl en Summit Ski Resort en de afslag naar Timberline, liggen op slechts 16 km afstand. Langlaufen, sneeuwschoenen, fietsen en wandelen liggen letterlijk op slechts een paar meter van de cabine.

De grens van het National Forest ligt op slechts enkele kilometers afstand, waar u kunt wandelen naar watervallen, sneeuwscooter en uitzicht kunt krijgen op Mt Hood. Er zijn tal van restaurants om uit te kiezen in de steden Welches, Zig Zag en Rhododendron. De dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt ligt op slechts 4,8 km afstand. Het Resort at the Mountain Golf Course ligt op ongeveer 8 km afstand.

Er is een harde schijf in de cabine met meer dan 300 films, inclusief de nieuwste releases en kinderfilms. Internet is ook beschikbaar. De keuken is uitgerust met een druppel koffiezetapparaat, een Franse pers, een pannenkoek, Quesadilla Maker, kruiden, specerijen, koffie, thee en warme chocolademelk. Voor de kinderen is er een boerderijwafelmaker en een broodrooster die een Mickey Mouse-gezicht op de toast legt. We hebben ook Lego's, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys en veel spellen. Voor de zuigelingen en peuters hebben we een port-a-wieg en een stoelverhoger. Wasmachine / droger en buitengrill zijn ook beschikbaar. Er is ook een dock waarop u uw telefoon kunt aansluiten, zodat u naar uw muziek kunt luisteren.

The hosts were very communicative. Aside from issues using the community swimming pool, it was the perfect stay! Gorgeous little A-frame in the Zigzag community near Mt Hood. Clean, well appointed and easy to walk in and immediately start relaxing.

Great stay near Government Camp

The house is clean and comfortable. The location is good about 20min from Government Camp and 20min from Sandy. The hot tub on the deck is a major plus. Susan is a great host and is very responsive. Would recommend to others.

Just what we needed

This was a pleasant and uncomplicated stay in a well apportioned cabin with easy access to fun in the snow and a delightful hot tub to enjoy! The hosts communicated clearly and check in and check out was simple. The only thing I would mention to hosts is that my very tall husband was immediately aware of how dusty higher places were: dust and cobwebs hanging from the skis over the couch, and the overhead fans had such thick dust buildup we decided not to turn them on at all!

A serene honeymoon geraway

We had the pleasure of staying at this charming cabin nestled in the woods for our honeymoon, and it was a serene experience. The cabin, with its rustic charm and cozy interior, provided the perfect escape after the hustle and bustle of the wedding. The surrounding forest created a tranquil atmosphere, and the only sounds were the gentle rustling of leaves, the rushing water of the creek and occasional bird songs. Inside, the cabin was thoughtfully appointed with comfortable furnishings, a well-equipped kitchen, and a cozy bedroom loft. The large windows offered breathtaking views of the forest, and the deck outside was perfect for sipping morning coffee or stargazing at night from the hot tub. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, with wonderful memories of a truly peaceful getaway. We highly recommend and hope to come stay again!

Welcome to the Woods !

Comfortable cabin in a densely wooded neighborhood within walking distance of the Sandy River. Despite other cabins nearby, it was extremely private with a seasonal creek flowing within feet of the back deck and very convenient access to local hiking trails and good restaurants. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect getaway

This is probably our 5th or 6th time staying at this property in the last 10 years. Great location in an ideal setting backing up to gorgeous mountain forest views. Owner is wonderful and has great communication. Well taken care of property. Has everything you need and more. Our kids 4 and 8 months loved our stay. Would definitely recommend to friends 10/10.

Exactly what we needed!

We wanted to be surrounded by wilderness and beauty and this place definitely delivered. There was great food nearby and Mount Hood right up the road for picture perfect scenery. We loved everything about this stay. The toilet handle was loose and needed care when using to ensure a flush was achieved and that the toilet didn’t run. Other than that, we had no issues. We would definitely stay here again and suggest anyone else to as well. There was a super easy binder with instructions from the owners on what they expected while we were there and what to do before we left. It was very helpful. We will always cherish the memories we made at this location.

Thoughtfully crafted, furnished and well kept; Great location; Secluded, yet proximal to places

We have stayed in a lot of cabins. This figures among the best. First, the construction of the cabin. This one shows us how, for a given footprint, a cabin can be built and furnished to give a sense of spaciousness and coziness at the same time. The glass panes around kitchen is a genuinely great idea, giving you the view of the woods while cooking. The thoughtfulness doesn't end there. Deck with a covered portion and open area, a pine tree through the open area of the deck, strung tungsten lights around the deck, living room with pullout which is spacious (not just to get by), movie collection that can put Netflix streaming to shame, dining table which is a crafted slab of an old trunk including its cracks and rough edges polished to perfection, unique flooring, spacious shower with windows that give you a feeling of showering in the wilderness, yet with plenty privacy, and the best of all, sliding mirrors behind bathroom sink which doubles as window that opens out the woods while you brush in the morning. It brought back memories of being at my granny's backyard, but with modern amenities. The loft/mezzanine area is perfect for kids with a bed and a pullout sofa. Doors open to a balcony that gives you a feeling of being in a castle. The location is perfect for someone who would like to explore the Mt.Hood and Columbia River Gorge area. Although it is not far from civilization, it gives you the seclusion of being in the wilderness. A small path that goes over a dried up stream (perhaps it flows in spring), can lead you into moss covered dense pine forest that can limit your view to less than 20 feet. A hammock next to the deck, a hot-tub on the deck, a patio set and a dining set on the deck completes your needs and your wants of staying in a perfect cabin for a family vacation, set away from the daily hustle and bustle. Did I mention that you have a full laundry and a decently equipped kitchen with dish washer, fridge/freezer with icemaker, a waffle maker and such? You gotta stay here. Thank you, Susan and Scott, for having thoughtfully done this! Only improvements I can suggest are, have a few clothes hooks in the bedroom/loft and replace the waffle maker if you can. Had a slightly hard time getting waffles off it :) Perhaps keeping a oil spraycan helps. We felt guilty getting water from shower spray on those nice wooden wall finish in the shower.

Beautiful

This was our first trip to Oregon and this was a gem of a property, with serene lush green nature all around. The cabin was well stocked. We enjoyed farm animal shaped waffles maker. All the equipment was well maintained. The kids could watch Ice Age movie. Bedrooms are cozy. They had hooked up a hammock outside. Susan was very responsive. The scenic gorge just about 45 min to 1hour away and the route is beautiful.

Amazing Honeymoon Location

Me and my wife loved our experience here! It was really close to the Skibowl where we went on the alpine slide and various attractions. I was surprised at how close the cabin was to a store which ended up being very convenient. The river was right next to the cabin and it was beautiful. Overall an amazing experience and worth the stay.

Nearly perfect

The house was great! It felt like we were sitting right on the edge of the forest, and the windows captured that feeling. The kitchen was surprisingly large for the size of cabin, and was pretty well stocked (I couldn't find cooking oil, but that was all that we were missing). The hot tub was a real hit with the kids (I think they used it at least 3 times each day) and the hammock was a favorite as well. There was a slight musty smell to the house, which we quickly went 'nose blind' too, but couldn't seem to entirely get rid of, but it wasn't that much of a problem. The only downside is that the beds were FIRM (aka hard as a rock). I suggest investing in some good mattress toppers to make the beds more comfortable.

Wonderful cabin!

This cabin was amazing! I can't say enough on how much we enjoyed our stay from the pool to the hot tub it was a trip we won't forget. The location is perfect close to hiking trails and plenty of views of Mt Hood nearby.
