Because of crazy weather conditions in the south my work travel plans got changed last week. I called Expedia first and they told me to call the hotel. I spoke with someone at the hotel and said I would be in for one night instead of tonight. After a seven minute wait on hold and me calling back Only for the attendant to tell me she forgot I was on hold, she told me she may be adjustment and I would have no problem chipping in on Thursday night instead of Wednesday. I hung up the phone but having dealt with Expedia before and hotels I didn’t feel completely comfortable. I’m not blaming Expedia but I know from a hotel perspective that they’re limited in what they can do when it’s a third-party reservation. But the girl gave me her name and I felt confident that it was OK. Here comes Thursday night after a full day of travel a flat tire along the road a tire alignment and a long day of work I arrive at the hotel only to find out I don’t have a reservation. So now not only have I paid for tonight but now I’m paying for one again. The attendant that was working the desk was horrible. She was rude and even when I told her who I spoke to the day before, she said well you don’t have a reservation. I provided my confirmation number and she said oh that was canceled. I said was a refund refunded she told me she didn’t know but it wasn’t. I understand the cancellation policy but I also understand whether prohibited travel and concessions have to be made
