Good place for a bargain price
We placed order few hours before we arrived to Latvia, as other place sudenly canceled our reservation. We visited this hostel and discovered it's match it's name - Good and Cheap. Kind service, clean rooms, very queit place, at City center, near by bus/train stations and most popular places. We canceld our order just 20min after arrival, just beccause out friends invited us to stay by them.

Very basic
It is really basic. The overall impression of basicness starts when you go up the staircase to the rooms, which is old and dirty. There are no common room only a fridge and a sofa in the corridor, where yo can look into the wall. Entering the room the positive surprise was that it was fairly clean (and the bathroom almost the same). There are no signs of cosyness. All white walls. Two of three beds was ok, the last one nearly breaking down. On the positive side it was in the centre of town and the owner was easy to get in touch with on the phone. If you only need a room to sleep and are out in town all day it can be OK, but you can get nicer places for the same money, I guess.

Det blev inte som det lovades. Skitiga fönster, snålt med toalettpapper, ingen vatten kokare i rummet, olika madrasser i sängarna + trasiga, tre trappor utan hiss,inget varmvatten.byt om ni kan.

How is this part of hotels.com?
I dont think this place has been cleaned the last two months. Bathroom had mouldy ceiling and the shower was in terrible condition. Staff was Nice to greet us, but didnt show up at planned check out. In its current condition i really Wonder how it got to be part of hotels.com. Need serious renovation.

le propriétaire est sympathique. mais ses chambres ne sont pas au niveaux standard décoration dépassée, couverture à changer. je me suis rendu compte que ma couverture était pleine de taches...ja salle de bain est moyenne avec porte de douche cassée.

Otelin konumu çok iyi. Riga’yı gezmek için kalabileceğiniz en ucuz ve en iyi konum. Fakat kış aylarında konaklayacak olanlar için önermiyorum çünkü ısıtma sistemi az diyemem çünkü yok. Kalorifer mevcut fakat geceleri kapatıyorlar. Gündüz ise dışarıda gezerken otele dönüp ısınmayı düşünmeyin bile, çünkü daha çok üşüyorsunuz. Ayrıca tuvalet inanılmaz derecede pis. Duş alınacak gibi de değil.

Hyvällä sijainnilla. Voisi olla siistimpi, sängyissä revenneet lakanat ja sisäpihalla työmiehet pitivät mekkalaa vielä yölläkin, joten ikkunaa ei voinut pitää auki ja sen vuoksi huoneessa oli erittäin tukala olla. Yövyimme vain yhden yön, joten yhteisiä tiloja ei tullut käytettyä.

El administrador ha ocultado que compartíamos la zona con otro huesped (sin un cerrojo que nos separara). Con este engaño, ha expuesto nuestros objetos personales a robos y ha expuesto la intimidad de mi pareja y la mía a vulneraciones. El esquivo huesped hizo esfuerzos en no delatar su presencia y lo descrubrimos a altas horas de la noche cuando usaba nuestro baño.

Отель полностью отвечает цене!!! На это надо обратить внимание! Перед заездом обязательно позвонить и предупредить о времени заезда, тогда Вас встретят. Район для знакомства с Ригой идеальный!!! Приятный бонус - 20% скидка в кафе Мария для жильцов отеля. Ожидать от отеля 4-х звезд не стоит. Туалет и душ общий! Но этот отель строго на свои деньги! Потому и wi-fi не очень скоростной, и полотенце одно.

Good starting point&very helpful&friendly staff
The hotel is near to the central bus station and the railway station. It is a good starting point for exploring the old town, the market halls and the "Moscow area". Opposite the hotel bus 24 takes one within 1h to the Vesaci beach at the coast. The rooms are in the 4th floor of an old building. The check-in worked easily via WA communication. The staff is present in the hotel between ca. 8 am and 10 pm giving a safe feeling re. the luggage in the room. The staff was extremely helpfull for assisting the visit and gave valuable hints re. good places and the suitable bus connections. This compensates imho some defects as e.g. only small curtains, slight smell in the bathroom, that it is hardly possible to open the windows in the night (traffic noise if open) and a little bit high price considering these shortcomings. Anyway: In case I visit Riga again I like to stay in "cheap and good (enough) appartments" again with its so helpful staff :-)

Ez volt az a "szállás", ami után 100x is meggondolja az ember, hogy mennyit szánjon az alvásra. Kezdjük ott, hogy a hotel egy kapualjban lévő ajtó, ahol semmi felirat, a környéken kéregető hajléktalan tudott felvilágosítást adni a hotel elhelyezkedéséről. Miután a csöves felvilágosított, kénytelenek voltunk felhívni a hotelt, ahol tájékoztattak, hogy várjunk tovább a csöves társaságában és 10 perc múlva mennek. Majd jött Jarek, a "szállodába" belépve egy az 1800-as évek hangulatára és illataira-az azóta elmaradt 100-200 évi felújítást nélkülöző-emlékeztető lépcsőházba jutottunk, ahol a második szinttől már egy nyomtatott papír van kihelyezve, ami mindenki számára egyértelművé teszi, hogy itt bizony szálláshely-szolgáltatás vehető igénybe.Sajnos kénytelenek is voltunk igénybe venni, de mentségünkre szóljon, hogy nem akartuk bukni egy éjszaka árát az előfoglalás miatt. A szoba igénytelen, hideg. A radiátoron a hőmérséklet beállítása a személyzet feladatköréhez tartozhat. Az ágynemű mosási idejét a "bizonytalan" kategóriába sorolnám. A fürdőről legyen elég annyi, hogy 2 napig a "nemfürdés" áldozatai voltunk inkább a további egészségügyi kockázatok elkerülése érdekében... A "tusfürdő" egy vízzel alaposan felhígított folyékony szappanban merült ki. A járólap a fürdőben ízlés szerint igazítható, valószínűleg csemperagasztó hiány léphetett fel az építés idején. Sorolnám még, de aki eddig elolvasta soraimat, annak ennyi is elég...

Rum, toalett/dusch var dåligt städat. Toalettpapper tog slut o fylldes inte på. Värst av allt så var det riktigt kallt på rummet och ingen ventilation så man fick sova med öppet fönster vilket gjorde rummet ännu kallare. Våningens ytterdörr gick endast att öppna inifrån med nyckel vilket är en grymt stor säkerhetsrisk vid eventuell brand. Kommer inte bo där nästa gång och avråder andra att göra det samma

Super basic, run down big apartment with rooms sharing bathroom. Water wasn't hot that day. No elevator. Wifi signal best in common area. Free tea, coffee. Friendly staff. Good if u need a budget room instead of a hostel dorm. Very close to train/ bus station.

Viesnīca tīra. Nepatika kāpņu telpa.It kā sīkums, bet kontaktligzdu var ielikt glīti un caurumu sienā nav grūti aiztaisīt. Pārgulēju 1 nakti, jo agrā rītā bija jādodas tālāk. Izmantoju lētāko numuru, jo galvenais bija pārlaist nakti.Tuvu dzelzceļa stacija autoosta.

The street entrance is thru that hole and into another hole off the right side. Reminded me of escaping in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang thru the dungeons. The "lobby " is disgusting. But often is in this part of the world. The graffiti and flies hovering on the stairs all added to the dirt. 88 steps to the room. This was no hotel. It was adequate but not worth 24 euros. Maybe 14 . Had better and paid less in Budapest. The only good thing was the man. He was a genuinely nice person obviously corrupted by greed.

Det var rotne vegger og så ikke bie hyggelig ut. Rommet var ok, men det var mugg på badet. De som jobbet der bar hyggelige, men servicen var ikke veldig bra. Det var veldig bra beliggenhet, så vi fikk se veldig mye av Riga.

Cheap and modest apartments
If you're flexible with quality then this is the cheap place to sleep. We (couple) are very flexible and use the money rather awake than unconsciously. Sheets and towels were funny but clean and room was clean and bathroom was 3/4-clean. Actually mainly the building was quite old and dilapidated and that's why modest quality.

It's all in the name
This is a great place to sleep. Do not go in expecting the full hotel experience with all the comforts of home and then some. The hotel manager is very nice and very helpful but the rooms are small and the stairs are quite a hassle so if you have any sort of difficulty negotiating stairs the this is not for you. Like I said, it's a great place if you are looking for a place to sleep and the location is great since you are pretty much close to everything. Take note, no matter what it says on the site you cannot pay with a credit card, only cash. To summarize; It's cheap and a good place to sleep.

Toalett/duschrum stank av avloppslukt. Dusch munstycket var trasigt. Toalettsits var trasig. Gratis vifi som inte fungerade( ingen täckning i rummet, kom på sista dagen att det fungerade en trappa ner )
