Nice and pleasant accommodation!
Wonderful location across from beach and many restaurants nearby. Friendly, accommodating staff except for one afternoon fellow. Clean. Nice breakfast buffet, with all nice staff and at the egg station!. Rooms a bit basic and small showers and small doors to go into the shower but there is a renovation going on at the hotel so maybe this will be changed. Also special attention to the internet connection, not very stable at times. For the price I thought this was a very nice place with pleasant common areas in lobby and a spectaculair view at the roof top. Don't miss it! The gym is also well equipped.

Stay away!
One of the worst hotel experiences I had in a while and I travel a lot. Check-in took forever. Then we got a room with a huge mold in the shower. When we opened the door, part of the doorframe came off. After complaining we got a new room, however the hotel overall is very old and not in a good condition. The beds were awful too. 1 day they even ran out of beach towels, we had to ask ourselves a couple of times before they gave us room towels to go to the beach. Stay away and find a hotel in the Ipanema area, that area looked way nicer then Copacabana.

The hotel has a nice staff but the facilities are decadent clearly with no maintenance Bedroom: walls broken and partially fixed , mofo under the airco, shelf inside the closet by water, glass door on the toilet? No privacy... elevator all smashed inside, too small, one was constantly broken, the pool area... totally decadent , marble broken and glued... yes we could see glue on all broken pieces!!! Pool chairs had the cover missing, fitness area full of oxidation, people smoking on the bedroom below and all smoke going inside the fitness, basic breakfast... but no french bread .... really? This was once a 5 stars hotel, 20 yeasr ago... apparently there was no maintenance on these 20 years, it cost a star, today it is 4stars, but under my eyes, should be a 2 or 3 and the price should definitely be lower... the only nce thing was the view.

erg slecht, niet rolstoeltoegankelijk hotel
Bij aankomst in het hotel, zagen wij dat de rolstoeltoegankelijke kamer niet rolstoeltoegankelijk was, de kamer was te klein, mijn zoon kon niet met zijn rolstoel in de badkamer komen. Dus kon niet normaal douchen of naar het toilet. Het meubilair was kapot, uitzicht was waardeloos. Van het personeel spraken er maar 2/3 mensen Engels. Toen wij deze problemen aankaarten bij de manager waren er in eerste instantie geen problemen en werd er in het hotel naar andere kamers gekeken, geen ervan waren rolstoeltoegankelijk, ook konden wij bij andere hotels kijken en ons geld terug krijgen. Vervolgens gaven wij aan dat wij naar een ander hotel wilden en dat wij ons geld terug wilden en toen ontstonden er problemen, werd ons op agressief en dreigende wijze medegedeeld, door de manager, dat wij nog voor 1 nacht moesten betalen of anders het hotel moesten verlaten om 22.00 uur, terwijl er geen aangepaste taxi meer reed. Toen hebben wij het hotel maar verlaten door gebruik te maken van 3 gewone taxi's. Wat natuurlijk schandalig was. Gelukkig hebben wij via Expedia de volgende dag ons geld terug gehad, Hierbij bedanken wij de medewerkers van Expedia, die dit mogelijk hebben gemaakt.

Horrible molde smell in hall waya and room ,first night impossble to sleep ,hard time breathing .Moved to another room still filthy maides only swept never vacuumed or washed floors ,hair everywhere .To top it off a used condon on the balcony room 421 .was there when we arrived and im sure it's still there .None of the slidind doors locked people could acess the room from next door.Worst expirience ever especially for the money we paid .On your site and there's claim to be 4 star and charge for a 5 star.Should remove from your list.

Bem localizado mas precisa melhor manutenção.
A localização é otima, mas o hotel esta bem desgastado, perto doque conheci 15 anos atrás, o quarto com moveis em mal estado, parede do corredor com infiltração , frigobar com ferrugem etc . Se percebe claramente que o hotel é antigo , ainda bonito a vista rápida , mas não é mais o mesmo .

O Hotel Pestana é muito bom, café da manhã com muitas variedades e bem servido. Falta algumas melhorias nos quartos, como porta do banheiro travando os trilhos devido ao desgaste do tempo e o barulho do condensador do ar quando liga as vezes.

No geral a estadia foi muito boa. Os funcionários são muito prestativos e solícitos. A localização do hotel é excelente e a vista é incrível. Cama confortável e ótimo chuveiro. Tivemos um problema com o exaustor no banheiro que foi prontamente resolvido e em um dos dias de hospedagem notamos a falta de toalhas de banho, essas demoraram quase uma hora para entregar. Mobilha apresenta certo desgaste.
