'Stayed here on a whim, travel a lot with work and try to pick small independent places where I can, usually with a pub. Unfortunately, the pub was shut as it was a Monday, but I just crossed the road and went there for food and drinks so no problem.
The room was beautiful, bright, very clean and very spacious. It looked newly decorated and done very tastefully, felt like I was staying in a stately home, not the local boozer! I mentioned to some locals I was working with that I was staying here...

'It s not 4,5 stars the staf is friendly but the hotel is old. Also the rooms look old. The bed was great but you must shower in the bath. It is a old building and that is what you see in the maintenance'

Each room with horsey theme and named after race horses, very clean witj fluffy towels and robes even curly wirly to have with your coffee. Hair dryer iron and ironing board . Lovely breakfast great choice on menu. All staff attentive and friendly. Lovely anniversay stay, thank you all we will come again '

'Very quirky pub with a fantastic horse theme. The rooms were fabulous and very comfortable. They had thought of everything in the rooms and also had Dolce Gusto coffee. Then curly wurly was a great idea instead of biscuits in the room. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Cannot fault the service we received at the bar or in the restaurant and the food was amazing. '

'Good location near town Centre but reasonably quiet at night . Lovely clean single room (Room 5) with plenty of electrical sockets and very comfortable duvet and bed, great breakfast in the morning and friendly staff, what more can I say? Shared clean bathroom with good shower. Would definitely return again.'

A local gentleman told us to wake up with the sunrise and it was well worth seeing it come up over the valley with the birds heading out for their day. The food was absolutely delicious (we had the pizza and breakfast the next morning.) I can’t recommend this place enough.'
