Super central! can't beat it for that. But what blew me away was how clean it was, and the service of the cleaners each day! They even folded by PJs. The room was spotless upon returning from sightseeing each day, it was truly remarkable. Absolutely spotless. Plus staff were super friendly. The bathroom did have a slight "old drain" smell at times, but I think this is largely unavoidable in a 14th century building in central Rome.

This hotel is very small. The room is lovely, small but no different than any other hotel near by. Staff were helpful. Whats wins it for me, is the location. This hotel is based in a great location between the Vatican and Coliseum. There is not shortage of restaurants just explore

I will start with the positive on this hotel. Great location, about 3 mins from a beautiful square with fountains. Ranna (sp) was our concierge and he was delightful, helpful, made a wonderful breakfast and very kind with our 4 year old son. The bath tub in the room was also just like the picture. Negatives. The sewage smell was absolutely awful, coming through our shower drain. We had no tv remote in our room and it was never found or given to us. $20 late check in fee even though we emailed about our flight being delayed 12 hours. Wi-Fi quite spotty, and an extremely tiny room compared to pictures.

The room and location were great BUT there were issues: they never sent me the code to access the building. When I got one, it never worked. There is no one at reception even though it says there’s someone there from 8 am to 8 pm. It’s just a screen not a physical person. There is very weak wifi reception. We had to sit by the door to get a signal. It was not obvious how to turn off the under lighting of the bed. I asked for them to arrange for a taxi to the airport which never came. I would not recommend staying here.

Good evening, we are very sorry to receive these reviews, it is true that our structure is completely automated but there is always a person from 07:00 to 14:00 and after 14:00 there are always available reception staff even if you are 5 minutes away from the structure, as far as the code is concerned, you have not received it because one of our employees checked you in and gave you the magnetic keys directly to access the structure and above all to his room.Thank youAlexei

Vi er kommet på Gigli d’Oro igennem snart 10 år. Første gang tilbage efter pandemien. Vi har haft elsket dette hotel, men det er nu slidt med mindre (synligt) personale. Deres engelsk kundskaber er under middel. Trist at et ellers så dejligt hotel er havnet der.

Need more staff at hotel. Staff seems overworked. First day very friendly and accommodating. On our return from Florence .. staff was unfriendly and only talking to European guest on a friendly tone whereas with us he puts on a long face . Made us feel unwanted n uncomfortable.

The good: the shower was clean and in good working condition. The bad: the bathroom trash can was not emptied from the previous guest. The sheets felt like they were not changed from the previous guest - my wife found sand on her side of the inner bedsheets. The sink did not drain water at all. Fortunately, the sink is a large bowl so it did not accumulate enough water to overflow during our one night stay.

The property was very modern with good space in the room to move around. The couch was great to just have a seat after a long days walk. Restaurants were everywhere within proximity. Site's weren't too far for us to walk (we are in our late 30's). Souvenir shops all around. Having travelled in colder months the room was sufficiently warm with heated floors in the bathroom. Would have been nice to have a kettle to make a cup of tea but there was plenty of shops around to obtain one. Shout out to the cleaner who assisted us in sucking the air out of the vacuum bag's we had to reduce the size in our luggage to fit more in. Reception also assisted by holding our luggage on the last day for a few hours while we did the last of our site seeing before leaving. All in all it was a great stay, the only slight issue was it would have been great to see someone in reception physically for at least a small chunk of the day. Everything was via a video link on a TV in reception & at times we found it hard to understand whomever we were talking to where we might have had better luck face to face.

Un apartamento bueno en una ubicacion perfecta.
La ubicacion no puede ser mejor. Hemos ido a todos los sitios andando (Vaticano, Coliseo, Panteon etc.) aunque hay varias lineas de autobuses cerca. La entrada era algo lioso con registro por camera web. Al final vino el recepcionista. La habitacion bien, aunque pensamos algo cara por lo que ofrece. Además hay varias cosas mal funcionando o rotas como la puerta de la ducha, la luz instalada en la ducha de lluvia, el extractor hace ruido. El cable de la lampara de la mesita era tan corta que al coger la lampara sin darnos cuenta, se rompio el cable... La calefaccion de suelo radiante estaba a tope y nos dijeron que para enfriar la habitacion hay que poner el aire (...) Sin embargo, el aparato de aire estaba tan lleno de polvo que no lo pusimos y abrimos las ventanas. Sin embargo, por la noche la calefaccion se apagaba, menos mal. La cama era comoda. Finalmente son los adornos y el estilo del apartamento que hacen que la estancia ha estado bien. El restaurante de desayuno no funcionaba durante nuestra estancia pero tampoco lo teníamos incluido y hay muchos bares y restaurantes en las inmediaciones del apartamento.

Hotel muito bem localizado, perto de todas as atrações principais, da para fazer tudo a pé. Tive um pouco de dificuldade na chegada mas logo foi resolvido. o quarto é bem amplo, banheiro também grande, mas necessitando de alguma manutenção,tive muita dificuldade em acertar o chuveiro e a água. Me incomoda um pouco não ter ninguém na recepção.

Good morning, Mrs Sonicki,Thank you for staying at Gigli D'Oro Suite, we are so sorry for your negative comments, but I wanted to tell you that your reservation entered our system at 19:28, when you booked you received all the necessary information to check in, but despite this we came after a few minutes to check in, to enter a reservation we also need the time needed to enter all the data, its waiting times were about 10 minutes and no more.As for the water that flowed in the bathroom, you could easily notify us via Expedia, as you had previously done for check-in, or by calling us at the number that was given to you on your booking confirmation, I understand that sometimes it’s easier to discredit a facility than to make a simple call, but next time you can safely call the emergency numbers.Thank you for everything.Alessio

It was on a quiet side street and close to the Piazza de Navona so there was plenty of restaurants and activity. The rooms were fine and comfortable and we loved the large windows but we were there during a heat wave so we keep the shutters closed. Bathroom was fine but a bit tight. The staff were lovely and our room was cleaned every day with new sheets and towels. AC worked great.

We had stayed here previously and loved it, now it is fully automated and it has list its appeal. Also the ameneties are terrible, the a/c blows to the window not the room, hair dryer is awful, bathroom is actually really hot- maybe nice in winter but in summer we do not need heated floors. There are not enough pillows.

The staff here were amazing! The taxis went on strike and hotel staff helped me to move my bags, store my bags, etc. They turned what could've been an awful situation into a workable and enjoyable day. So grateful!

Not worth the money
The hotel is grossly overrated and absolutely not worth the money you pay .our room had so low ceiling that you knock your head there is an ugly gutter smell in the bathroom Aircon is not working unless you have an extra door card several things are not there or broken in the room and they do not fix it - there are no one at the reception and no contact can be made after 9:30 pm. Confused info about pet friendliness-the only good thing about this hotel is the location.

Good evening, Mr. Steen, The Suite you have chosen is an Exclusive Suite, and you can also see from the photos that its peculiarity is the wooden roof, unfortunately inside the room, it is true, there are lower areas. As for the reception is active until 22:00 and after that there is a night service that you can always contact for anything, pets are not allowed in our hotel given the limited space, but for her since she had by now the dog already with if we made an exception, if she needed another key to leave the air conditioning on could ask how she did for other things. Inside the room we left the skylight blocked because unfortunately in case of rain was left open. Thank you also for being our guest and I take this opportunity to greet you.

It is a well run 'guest house' (no reception area). Upon arrival you're given a card which allows 24 hour access to the entrance and your room. Rooms are as pictured. The location is ideal, literally 5 minutes to the beautiful, lively Piazza Navona. Communication prior to arrival was excellent and responsive. Very clean, comfortable. We stayed 8 nights May 15th-23rd. No complaints.

The pictures accurately represented the room we stayed in. The jacuzzi hot tub in the room was fantastic and quite enjoyable. However, the shower wasn't great. While the jacuzzi got nice and hot, the shower would not. Also, we came back one day after there was some light rain in the city and it smelled like sewage had backed up into the shower drain. Not sure if the rain caused it, but that was our best guess - it wasn't pleasant at all. Also, we had a couple communication issues with the proprietors. We didn't receive the pre-registration email as intended and so we did not have the access code to enter the property. The remote "front desk" staff on duty was very helpful and responsive though and managed this concern to our satisfaction. However, we were only left with 1 partial roll of toilet paper, and when we asked for our room to not be cleaned (only there 2 nights), but for a roll of toilet paper to be left it was not. Likely a breakdown in communication between front desk and cleaning crew - fortunately the bathroom had a bidet, but still was not our preference. Otherwise, the front desk was very helpful arranging our transfer to the airport after our stay. Overall great location and great amenities.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is not available due to COVID. No one is in the reception- you are in contact with personal by a big screen in lobby- seemed a bit odd and impersonal but it worked ok. Location is excellent , view is non existent.

The location was really incredible, just a quick walk from most sites. There were two things that were not very clear. The first was check in, we needed a code to access the property but we’re not given it. We didn’t even know we needed a code. I had to call and the attendant came from another location, a 5 minute wait. Then, on one night the hot water ran out and didn’t come back until the next day. We over heard another guest complaining about this also. For some reason, the bathroom floor was really warm 24/7.

Despite pre- messaging our arrival time we had to wait 40 minutes for someone to arrive to check us in. In the morning we only received half our breakfast - we had to go out and buy our own drinks. Water in the lovely bath tub was only warm not hot. When we complained we were given a bottle of wine but the manager did not come to speak with us as we’d asked and then pretended to be a receptionist on the phone saying that the manager was at a Covid meeting . The poor guy on reception was working across two hotels trying to prepare breakfast - check people in and out as well as cleaning rooms etc . He deserves a medal as he was literally running between each task. We were told to speak to hotels .com. I got through to a number in Phoenix Arizona ! I relayed my issues and as then put on hold for 35 minutes . I had left my details but hotels .com have not called me back or emailed me after more than three days . My first time using them. NOT a good experience
