Ideale ligging, top-personeel, verouderd
Een hotel met een ideale ligging. Wat meteen opvalt is het zeer vriendelijke en goed opgeleide personeel. Heel bijzonder! De kamers en hotelfaciliteiten zijn stijlvol, maar tegelijkertijd erg verouderd. De standaardkamer is echt te klein.

klassiek hotel zonder grandeur
Westin zal ooit wel een klassehotel geweest zijn, maar nu heeft het toch zijn grandeur verloren. Het hotel is helemaal niet goedkoop en toch durft het in deze tijden EUR 15 vragen voor een dag internet. Ook het ontbijt is heel duur. Gelukkig zijn er in de buurt veel plaatsen waar je ook lekker kan ontbijten.

Internet is gratis in de publieke ruimtes en inderdaad betalend in de kamers (gratis voor SPG Gold & Platinum leden) Wat onze ligging betreft op Via Veneto naast het Borghese Park liggen we bv op 10 minuten wandel afstand van de Trevi fontein Met vriendelijke groeten Marc L Direkteur

5 sterren hotel, ontbijt is niveau van der valk, a 66 euro voor 2 personen. Geen gratis wifi (15 euro per dag) waarbij dataverkeer vrij beperkt is. In de prijs van expedia zit niet 6% belasting verwerkt, die krijg je er achteraf bij.

Kamers zijn prijzig, weet je van te voren. Service mag hier en daar beter en het personeel vriendelijker. € 15 per dag voor WiFi op de kamer slaat anno 2013 voor een 5 sterren hotel echt nergens op!!

The AC only works only if it set to heating mode. With so much carpet and colorful walls the rooms heats up so much that it was difficult to sleep. The bathroom and toilet looks shiny but the most of the things needs maintenance. The most annoying factor was the non-availability of the internet in the room. The room service is extremely expensive. We had a normal club sandwich ( 1 veg and 1 non veg) and it cost us 65 euros which was no way worth it. The location was good, easily accessible and staff were helpful and cordial. Bottom line, is compared to the price the quality was not up to the standard.

tegenvallende ervaring.
Verouderd hotel wat wel een flinke renovatie kan gebruiken. De kamers zijn redelijk groot, de badkamer ook, maar is behoorlijk verouderd met afgeschilferd meubilair. De service van de hotelmedewerkers laat ook te wensen over en is zeker niet 5 sterren, verder vind ik het niet meer van deze tijd dat je 15 euro per dag voor internet of wifi moet betalen.

Pluspunten : - ligging (nabij Piazza Barberini) - prachtig gebouw met heel mooie kamers Minpunten: - er mag al eens beter afgestoft worden in de kamers, je kon gemakkelijk je naam schrijven in het stof op de meubels - betalen voor Wifi als je al zoveel moet betalen voor je kamer, dat is een beetje belachelijk - concierge kon ons geen enkel goed restaurant aanraden. - 's morgens was het moeilijk om nog warm water uit de douche te laten komen

Usually great - but this time there was a hitch
We love staying here when we come to Rome. (A few times a year) The staff is excellent. The rooms are nice but it would be nice if they upgraded the TVs like they have in other Westin’s to be able to use TV Apps or casting (as the channel selections are few) My only big issue with our recent stay was getting our cat the morning we were to leave. We had a 9:30am international flight so we called at 5 til 6am for the cat to be brought around. We figured we would get to the airport by 6:30 giving us plenty of time to get through international customs. Well they couldn’t get the garage to bring our car and at about 6:40 the guy brought a car - but it wasn’t ours and they insisted it was! When we showed them our receipt they tried calling back to the garage over and over and the concierge ended having to physically walk to the garage and they finally brought our car around 7:15am. Needless to say this put a giant strain on us as we were traveling with our elderly parents, and had to get fuel, return our rental and go through customs. We barely made it! Westin Rome we love you but this was unacceptable and very disappointing!

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Rome for a week. The location was ideal for walking to the Borghese Gardens and Spanish Steps. The staff is very friendly and the housekeeping staff is very attentive. The first room we had didn't neet our expectations but the front desk manager made it right the very next day. The porters are also very helpful. The area is clean and quiet at noght and sits directly across from the American Consulate and Embassy. There is security staff that also walks around the property as well. The restaurant staff at Doney could be a bit more friendly.

I like the location very close to Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese. No shopping around and dining is pricey though. The staff could be friendlier and helpful.

Creí que un hotel de esta categoría debería tener más cuidddo en detalles ! Afuera de mi habitación hubo una cama en la pared todo el tiempo el cual se ve espantoso ! En la habitación no había café … cosa extraña que ningun otro hotel hace y no había costurero y los amenitis muy escasos en general para el nivel y precio de la habitación no coinciden No me gusto mi estancia

Stay away from Excelsior Hotel Rome Italy
Computers were down. Could not get into our room. Carpet, walls filthy dirty. Hotel is sold and closing down. A terrible surprise after spending $1,000.00 per night. Horrible
