Teleurstellend hotel naast de haven
Voor een overnachting met gezin voorafgaand aan de overtocht Rosslare-Fishguard dit hotel geboekt. De liggen is ideaal maar dat is ook het enige positieve punt van dit hotel. Het inchecken was rommelig het diner ondermaats in een schreeuwerige omgeving. De kamer was ronduit slecht. Erg warm en muf door een eerdere lekkage (vies plafond en schimmelige vloerbedekking). De bedden waren oncomfortabel en ook de badkamer was niet fris. De WiFi werkt alleen in de bar, de afstand naar de kamers was blijkbaar te ver. Het ontbijt was bijzonder karig, er kon wel een cookies breakfast besteld worden maar dat duurde zo lang dat de boot daardoor gemist zou worden. Bij het uitchecken werd geprobeerd om de (via Expedia geboekte en betaalde) kamer nogmaals te laten betalen. Omdat ik de boeking had geprint en meegenomen kon dit voorkomen worden, maar ik had de indruk dat deze truck eerder regel dan uitzondering was. Kortom, voor een overnachting in Rosslare, zoek verder.

Very pleased
We had a very brief stay at Hotel Rosslare the night before getting the ferry from Rosslare harbour. The room was very nice and clean, bed was comfortable. Lovely powerful shower and plenty of tea and coffee in the room as well as little toiletries in the bathroom. Love that it is a minutes drive from the harbour. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Certain areas need an update.
Very small bedroom and even smaller bathroom. Extremely noisy due to music in the bar area. We were told on check in that there would be music in the bar but we were not told it would make sleep impossible in the room we had been allocated. Bedroom decor a bit tired. Shower was a curtain over the bath. I thought curtains were a thing of the past. Meal in restaurant was nice. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, just wished someone had warned me how noisy our room would be. I would have asked for a different room.

Grand Ferry Stop-Over
This was a grand hotel, located brilliantly for the ferry. Not luxurious, but grand as a stopping off point in Rosslare. It does what it says. Nice staff.

The bar and location and food is lovely the room smelt of damp the bed was broken and the bed clothes where damp it’s ok for 1 night stay for a few hrs if all rooms are like this but the room was a let down

Shocked that this hotel is on your books as I've booked many trips with expedia before.This hotel had no central heating only a 1 bar heater very cold and damp smell dreadful. I would think twice before using expedia again

I would not recommend this so called hotel, the paint on the exterior of the building is all falling off, the hotel itself is extremely dated, very very grubby, the carpet is held down wit masking tape, the paint is falling off the wall, the skirting boards in the dining area are all chipped with paint falling off, the walls are all unevenly plastered, the seats are all ripped and the tables were like picnic tables with no tablecloths. We had the steak and it was tough with a lot of fat. There is a terrible smell of burning and they have candles burning to disguise the smell which makes it worse. The bed was OK but the pillows and duvet cover wer just hard, there were wires hanging down from the TV and hanging over a heater which again is a health hazard. I have never experienced anything like this before and can't understand how this building is still open or being advertised. We spent 110.00 for the night but was a complete waste of money. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.....sorry

Excellent location for trip to Our Lady's Island.!
I arrived, tired and exhausted on the evening of 3rd. January, 2018 to be warmly greeted by hotel receptionist, Margaret. I enjoyed a wonderful nights sleep,(the fire alarm did go off accidentally) however, I felt refreshed, relaxed and revitalised after a delicious Irish Breakfast in my lovely clean room. The weather was cold/raining etc., so the heat was very welcome. Extra warm towels were provided at my request. Reception asked me if I had any other request, to please do not hesitate to ask. I met the hotel owner, Mark, and maganeress, Rachel who were very hospitable and friendly before I departed on 4th. Overall, I was more than happy with my stay and I have already recommended Hotel Rosslare to some of my family and friends. In particular, for tourists and pilgrims who need to take time out and visit OUR LADY'S ISLAND, this fabulous Hotel Rosslare is ideal. Thank you so very much. God reward and bless you all at Hotel Rosslare, Co. Wexford.

Great hotel close to ferry terminal and beach
Walked from bus stop with trolley bag to hotel without any problem. Later walked down to the beach and for a short distance along cliff walkway. Lovely views. Ate dinner in hotel restaurant and had a drink. Nice food . Breakfast was available early enough for us to eat and check out, then walk down to ferry terminal to catch early ferry with plenty of time to spare.

Stop Over before catching the Ferry
We knew this was not going to be a great stop over as we have been fortunate to stop in 4* hotels for the rest of our 11 night trip and the price of this was significantly cheaper (£29+), however, the hotel is very "tired". Most importantly though, one of the single beds in room 106 was practically unsleepable - springs and creaky. Food wasn't great either (poppadom dripping in oil) and this wasn't any cheaper than elsewhere. It is a pity because the room where breakfast is held seems relatively recently refurbished and breakfast itself seemed ok, and the views are interesting. Couldn't recommend this place I am affraid

We stayed one night before catching the morning ferry to Pembroke the next day. Lovely helpful staff. Would recommend it. They were also very nice about refunding one room (in advance) when one of our party's travel plans changed. Hassle-free!

Disappointing stay
The location is beautiful and perfect for getting the early ferry. The hotel is understaffed. Food was only average. Decor very tired. The first room I was in had dirty sheets. The two ladies who were doing Reception and serving tables were lovely.

Hotel is not overly dirty but so dated it feels dirty, if your going to port you can't miss it but is in DESPERATE need of some proper maintenance.

Nice Hotel close to the beach
This was a nice hotel and the staff friendly and helpful. I wasn't there long as I was catching the ferry early next morning and I think this is probably what most people who stay here are doing as it didn't seem to have any long term visitors, which is a shame. I didn't have time to have a meal here so cannot comment on the food.

Needs updating
Staff were llovely and worked really hard but the place really needs redecoration, nothing has really been done since it was built and these days its not hard to provide something better than this. Theres many places in Rosslare to pick so only go here if you absolutely love watching a couple of ferries come in and out in the middle of the night!

Close to the port, a 2 minute drive
A bit more care could have gone into the bathroom but apart from that the room was fine, bed comfortable. Really close to the port so it was nice not to have to get up really early which made the journey from wales to London easier. Staff are friendly and really helpful

Food was great, plenty of it. View brilliant.
Loved watching the ships coming and going, spent a lot of time on our balcony watching them. Rooms very comfortable. Lots of nice walks around Rosslare Village including 105 steps from the port to the hotel, which was the quickest way but you can take a longer route. Staff very friendly and always willing to help. The hotel could do with a bit of TLC but it did not spoil our stay and we would go back again tomorrow if the crossing from Wales was not so expensive!

Great value hotel (not exactly latest decor)
Excellent value hotel. Though decor is outdated and there is a musty smell in parts it is a great value hotel and a few simple improvements would go a long way, i.e. get rid of the carpets in the halls and dining room. Staff very nice but very stretched. The lovely young man that checked us in was also in the bar and also in the breakfast room. There was also a lovely young lady that checked us out that turned up everywhere. Only grumpy person was one of the bar tenders, certainly not a people person. The other strange thing was that some of our party's room keys opened other rooms. We mentioned it at reception and they said locks and even door had been changed (we had noted this last year when we stayed) but it is still happening.

tired and in the midst of a derelict area
Stayed here years ago when rosslare was vibrant. but now it is like a deserted area . The hotel looks as it is about to be knocked down no interior or exterior maintenance done to any standard seems for years. Ripped seats in bar. however the staff deal with it all and are very welcoming.
