Two bedroom log cabin sleeps 4. All accommodation on ground floor. Open plan dining / kitchen / sitting room. Ground level verandah. 2 Separate ground floor bedrooms, one double, one with 2 single bunk beds. Family bathroom with spa-bath, shower and sauna. All electric heating, Free on-site parking for two cars.

Lovely chalet for a week

Before our stay we had very swift and clear communication about our questions and instructions how to get to the chalet. The chalet itself is somewhat outdated but well enough accommodated for a small family to stay for a week. The chalet is very secluded but provides a nice location to scout the attractions within 1,5 hours drive. With Tesla superchargers in Fort William even driving an EV was no problem.

Cosy cabin

We experienced a nice warm welcome. Tea and some cookies were there for us. In the morning some sheeps visited the garden. This gave us the feeling to be in the middle of the country close to nature. After an active day we enjoyed the sauna. This is a real advantage of this cabin. We also liked having a bath. It was a bit difficult to get a good stream of hot water if you want to shower in the bath. We advise the owner to have this looked at. The beds were fine. The only thing we mist was storage space in the small bedroom. We enjoyed our week here and recommend this cabin for future quests.

Perfect place, perfect location!

This place is very beautiful! Near a stream/river. Fort william, fort augustus, loch ness, inverness etc are very near. We got a very warm welcome from the owner (Sheila). We came in later than planned, that was no problem. The house is fully equiped, the owner thought of everything someone might need, when out on vacation. Thank you Sheila for everything! We will definitely come back again!

Midden in de natuur

Het huisje is compleet ingericht en de uitbaters zijn vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Elke dag werden we begroet door schapen en koeien uit de buurt. We hebben zonnige en regenachtige dagen gehad. We hebben de Ben Nevis beklommen, de brug in Glenfinnan inclusief de aanstormende trein (van Harry Potter) gezien, de landschappelijk mooie weg naar Mallaig gereden en wandelingetjes in de buurt gemaakt.

Holiday Oak Lodge Bohenie Roybridge Scotland

Lovely lodge, very complete and clean in a beautiful quiet remote location. Central (half an hour north of Fort William) for exploring Scotland. Young cows and sheep very close. Stunning surroundigs and beautiful walks nearby. Very kind owners who are available and open for any questions. Hope to visit again soon.

Heel ruim, huiselijk ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. In een prachtige omgeving.

We voelden er ons onmiddellijk thuis, alles wat je nodig kan hebben is aanwezig. (geweldige toaster!) Sheila is een geweldige gastvrouw en ook de communicatie met haar, voorafgaand aan het verblijf verliep zeer goed. Het is zeker een aanrader en we overwegen nu al om daar nog een keer neer te strijken. De lodge ligt wat afgelegen, maar dat is ook precies wat wij zochten. Rust, in het midden van de natuur, je hoort enkel de vogels en het stromen van het riviertje. En bijna elke dag rond 11hr (Tip van Sheila) kan je een arend zien die zijn prooi zoekt in de vallei. De omgeving is prachtig met onnoemelijk veel mogelijkheden om te wandelen. De berg Ben Nevis, het dal Glen Roy, The Jacobite train vanuit Fort Williams...

perfecte blokhut om bij te komen na een wandeling

We waren aangenaam verrast toen we arriveerde bij de blokhut "de Oak". Het is op een mooie locatie en prettig ingericht. Sheila kwam ook nog even langs en dat geeft een welkom gevoel. Vanuit deze plek is het heerlijk wandelen in de omgeving.

Perfect Scottish hideaway

A hidden gem, well off the beaten track. Wake in the morning to the sound of a nearby waterfall. Discover wild deer grazing outside your window. Come here for the peace and quiet, or for ready access to outdoor pursuits in Fort William, or both. It's lovely.

Beautiful

The cabin was everything we needed. Clean and extremely well stocked. The cabin is in a stunning rural location and perfect if you want to get away from it all. Shops not to far away and an excellent central location for Fort William, Avimore, Fort Augustus and Loch Ness.

Nous avons aimé la tranquillité du lieu, sa situation géographique et la proximité de la rivière et des randonnées. Néanmoins, le logement mériterait une petite rénovation. Un peu plus de clarté que ce bois vieillissant omniprésent serait bienvenu. Le peu de pression de la douche, les odeurs dans la chambre principale qui ne nous ont pas permis de mettre nos affaires dans les placards sont un handicap. Nous avons été déçus que notre hôte, à notre arrivée nous ait d'office indiqué 100 kwh de plus que le stipulait le compteur. Nous lui avons fait remarqué, ce qu'elle est convenue, mais la confiance était rompue. D'une manière plus générale, il est quelque peu "mesquin" de facturer en sus, des frais d'électricité, compte tenu du prix de la location. D'autant que cela nous avait échappé et qu'il faille payer en cash, ce que le site internet, contacté, à déploré... Nous n'avons, du coup, utilisé ni le spa ou le jet de baignoire proposé... Nous venions d'une location effectuée sur l'ile de Lewis et Harris, moins chère, et dont les prestations étaient supérieures. Voila notre ressenti...

FANTASTIC

Arrived to find the most amazing cabin with beautiful surrounding scenery. Everything you would need was there. It was clean and very comfortable. We stopped off to buy our groceries before we arrived, but upon our arrival there was some milk, teabags and shortbread to welcome us. There was myself, husband, 2 sons (9 and 12) and our wee dog. Our host Shiela, was in contact with us shortly after we arrived to make sure everything was fine and was there for us if we had any questions. We had no problems and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This cabin is well situated for either a relaxing time, doing nothing as it is so peaceful, going for lovely walks, or jumping in the car and exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. We went for a long walk up the road that continues on after the entrance to the cabin and had the most amazing views of the Nevis Range behind us, with snow on top of the higher peaks, and the ice age valley on the other. We shared our walk with the sheep, the eagles (or buzzards, not too sure to be honest) and the deer. We then took the car along the road opposite to the view point for the Ice Age Parallel "roads" that was something to see!! Ventured into Fort William, the Glenfinnan Viaduct, Urquhart Castle and the Nessie exhibition at Drumnadrochit. So glad we found this wee gem of a place. It is what you want it to be, relaxing... or not, and maybe even a bit of both, with the perfect combination of lazy mornings and evenings and busy days.

Oak Lodge

Beautiful location…peaceful, quiet and tranquil. We spent a relaxing few days in this lovely, cosy and very comfortable lodge 🤗 Everything we needed was there. Could not fault any part of it…better than we could ever have imagined. We enjoyed long walks with our dogs Onyx and Kuma who were also made very welcome. Sheila is lovely and a fantastic host…very welcoming, friendly and helpful 😍 We look forward to returning in the near future 😊
