'A pleasant cottage, but there is no access to back garden as 2 very large dogs were there. They also scratch / jump at the back door (in lounge) in the middle of the night! Front garden not as pretty as picture with some dog mess and dogs watching through gate. Lastly boiler is in bedroom so you can hear when it comes on. '

'We truly enjoyed this adorable cottage. It is well hidden, and not an easy walk to any eateries or stores. The only two difficult things were the distance we had to walk, pulling our suitcase to the front door. And the second was a step down into the kitchen from the living room. We both trip down that at least once. Difficult to remember, especially at night when going to the bathroom. Bedroom was adorable and there was plenty room. 'Handy location to Durham and countryside. Clean cozy and friendly clear communications. Nice touch to have some supplies available on arrival. Felt unclear where to park as other locals parked up but I’m sure it would have been clear should I have asked.'

'We had a good stay, when ringing for support to find the entrance and how to enter was very supported and sent all necessary details, free parking close by and isn’t too far a drive away from everything. Very quiet no banging through the night etc. '

'Clean & comforts, but there’s no table which even can’t have a simple breakfast. Have 2 sofa which are no use for us. It’s better to have a table & storage drawer.'

'We were lucky to find this alternative within one day when Alexander Apartments did not communicate through the VRBO app and we could not check in into their apartment. Powdene House is right in the centre which has advantages and inconveniences too. You come in through the back which was quite unattractive at first but for a short stay acceptable. The apartment is best for two but we were four and managed. At night there is quite lot of noise which could spoil your night but we were very tired...
