'Fantastic stay at La Basilica Quito. Great location with good security, very friendly owners and staff. English spoken. Very clean and nice rooms, comfortable beds and bathroom with all amenities. Some of the rooms are located in-house, which makes them a bit stuffy due to lack of ventilation, but this is minor. Right in the hart of Old Quito at 5 minutes walk from historic square with cathedral, museums, presidential palace, and also the National Basilica. '

'Excellent location! I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the city with so many historical things to see and do in the area. And the hotel courtyard with a retractable roof was lined with hundreds of plants producing a beautiful atmosphere amid antiques adorning the property. The cafe was an old Conquistador dungeon giving it so much character, but it was only open for breakfast from 7-9 am. And the free breakfast consisted of eggs every day with bread, juice, coffee, tea and a variety of one...

'A very comfortable well maintained historic hotel in a perfect location only steps away from independence plaza. The staff are very friendly and super helpful. A tip: get them to organise your airport transfer for US $30 (pay them directly). Breakfast was good with choices.'
