'The staff at this family-run hotel was very friendly and helpful. They upgraded us from a double to a family room with balcony (it probably was quiet enough, out of season). We could have breakfast earlier than normal to get glacier-skiing. The hotel was very tidy and clean, the breakfast offering was a bit basic.'

'We waren met 3 gezinnen met kleine kinderen en daar leent dit prachtige chalet zich uitstekend voor. Klein minpuntje: Het chalet ligt vrij hoog. De weg er naar toe is met (overbrugbare) hellingen en trappen, maar met kinderwagens of als er iemand bij is die niet goed ter been is, kan dit nadelig zijn. Hoogteverschillen heb je al gauw in gebergte, toch is dit iets om rekening mee te houden. Verder niets dan lof!'

'I think the most important thing to know about this chalet is that the photos do not do the views justice. The incredible feeling of being engulfed by the Alps from every angle made our stay amazing, from waking up in the morning to watching the sun fade at night. Beyond that, it is incredibly convenient (once you’ve made it to Saas-Fee!). A restaurant (Alphutte) is just up the outdoor stairs, right next to the bus/train stop. We actually never ate at the Alphutte (just had drinks) because...

'We had a fantastic stay at Châlet Birkhahn. The whole place is decked out beautifully with every mod con you could wish for- the kitchen is full of gadgets- from a quooker tap to sharp knives, fondue and raclette set. There is plenty of space to lounge and dine, very comfortable beds and the bonus of a big bath and sauna with a glass roof. The setting is very quiet above the village of Saas-Fee….but be warned it is a long hard walk uphill from skiing and all the amenities of the village. '
