Magical property
This experience and property were truly magical. It had all the modern amenities, but it felt transported to an oasis of the past where our family just enjoyed time with one another after diner playing games around the large dining table. Pictures are exactly as described and the house very clean. St. Cyprian is fabulous and this house made leaving so very difficult. Thank you Anthony and Laurence. You helped our family make lifelong memories. Anyone choosing this house will be grateful they did.

Beautiful Home in a Great Location
This trip was cancelled twice due to the pandemic. We were initially going to stay in Sarlat-la-Canéda . Boy are we glad we didn’t. Saint Cyprien is a much more quiet village than Sarlat-la-Canéda which meant we had ease of getting in and out and parking after a day of exploration. They have a great marche on Sundays. The village has 2 patisseries/boulangerie, a charcuterie/Boucherie and multiple restaurants. All more conveniently accessed than Sarlat-la-Canéda. We selected this home for its location and because it had 2 primary bedrooms with en-suite baths. It is a block from from the abbey whose bells chimed beautifully and we looked forward to hearing them. The house is located on Rue du Lion which is a steep street, however, we were able to drive it without difficulty. You can walk down to the main street and then walk back up via an easier path located by the park. Laurence the house manager was readily available if needed. The beds were very comfortable and there was excellent water pressure in the showers. The kitchen was fully equipped. There is plenty of room in this spacious and warm home. The views from the balconies are amazing with the ever changing sky. Our favorite villages include: Collanges La Rouge, Issigeac, St Lyon sur Vezere, Domme, Belves, La Bugue. Tip: bring your own body soap as none is provided. More towels would have been appreciated.

Family Getaway
Fantastic property in a quaint little village with plenty of amenities and a Main Street only a short walk away. Checkin process was simple and effective. Laurence who is the caretaker was such a nice person. I had asked the owner if he knew of someone to prepare a meal when we arrived the first day and he recommended Laurence. Laurence and her husband prepared a fabulous meal with wine pairing and a very reasonable price. Cost of ingredients and wine plus service fees. We were such impressed with quality of meal that we repeated night before leaving. The house is huge on 4 levels with plenty of amenities. We enjoyed the terrace adjacent the Master Bedroom. We took our cocktails on the terrace which they had installed a wooden roof. Centrally located near many towns and sites to visit. Parking was very easy. We had rented a large Transit Van and could park on the street or at a nearby exterior parking. There is parking in front for 1 car (small to medium car). Overall very impressed by the house and amenities. One point that has been pointed out is the church bells that rings every hour and the number of times is equal to the hour (example 10:00 for 10 times) except for 7:00 where the bells go for at least 30 times. A bit of an adjustment but at the end very laughable. I would definitely return without any hesitation. 5 star rating and experience. Cheers

Fantastic property in the centre of the Dordogne
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous property in Saint Cyprien. We used it as a base to explore Tremolat, Le Bugue, Les Eyzies, Sarlat, Domme, Beynac , La Roque Gageac and the gardens of Marqueyssac. Laurence was wonderful with her attention to detail in the presentation of the property and her local knowledge. She was very accomodating with our late arrival due to cancelled trains. The house itself has absolutely everything you would need. I can recommend it for your visit to the Dordogne.

Mostly good. Great kitchen, dining and bedroom accommodations for large group. Manager was friendly, but was rushed at check in. We needed more operations info: door locking, appliances, shower operations. Coffee maker did not operate well until we flushed it with vinegar several times. Slow sink drain in 3rd floor, south bedroom. Air conditioning units worked well. Second floor was stuffy. Afternoon sun heats it up. Need fans or AC. We enjoyed location. We felt like we were part of the village. Easy walks to city center, bakeries, restaurants, groceries. Parking was just o.k. Garbage disposal facility right across from north bedrooms. It's convenient, but pick up day, be ready. It's loud. Plenty of linens. Kitchen table was fun gathering spot. TV good, but we didn't use much. Laundry room (cave) had multiple leaks during hard rains. Plenty of cleaning supplies. Manager went above the call of duty when she took us to the train station. Several of our guests suffered multiple insect bites, usually at night, in bed. Location is convenient to the train as well. Town folk and neighbors are friendly. Be wary of road in front. It is steep. All in all, we enjoyed our visit, but wanted to suggest improvements.

Lovely house in nice village in Dordogne
This house has been lovingly updated and decorated. It has great space to spread out and relax in. The kitchen has everything you can imagine for cooking (but beware: no salt, pepper, oil etc. A few spices.). Easy to walk down to the boulangerie each morning for fresh croissant, baguette etc. (and their quiche is excellent!). Laurence, the local manager, is easy to work with and quick to respond as was the owner Anthony). Highly recommend.

Gorgeous Home in the Dordogne
A great VRBO experience! The house is beautiful and it’s extremely well located. Comfortable with a ton of amenities. Parking right in front, comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms, large and well equipped kitchen with eating area + a big dining room, washer and dryer. Walk a couple blocks down the hill and you’ll find boulangeries, boucheries, cafes, and other shopping. It was so hard to leave at the end of the week. We loved this home and the town of Saint Cyprien!

Nous avons passé 2 semaines très agréables dans ce gîte extrêmement bien équipé. Notre seule déception fut l’accès temporairement fermé de la terrasse pour cause de difficultés liées à des travaux… c’est un peu dommage.

What a privilege to stay in this most desirable and beautifully furnished house. Much larger than expected with delightful views of the Dordogne. The aircon in the bedroom was so very much appreciated on these hot summer nights. The nearby Abbey bells were actually soothing and not annoying like we thought they may be. The housekeeper is such a delightful and accommodating lady.

very nice place
We are very happy with this house. it's extremely clean ( very important point!!), perfectly equipped ( nothing is missing for our 3 generation family). the bed is good quality. we visited all the sites with around 30 minutes car driving. We met a little pb with cafe machine at the 1st day and a brand new one appared in our house 1 hour later. the only thing is that the adress is not totally correct. need to update. and the house is just next to a church. we made some effort to get used to the alarm each 30 minutes ;) we still recommend this house to the people looking for a nice place to discover Perigord, Dordogne.Thanks so much for the nice service during the week.

This is a very pleasant, beautifully decorated house in a charming town. The property manager Laurence was helpful and went out of her way to accommodate us. Our arrival was a bit awkward since we'd been given the address of 540 Rue de l'Abbaye des Augustins, Saint-Cyprien, Nouvelle-Aquitaine 24220, and the correct number is 1, not 540. Otherwise everything went very smoothly.

Truly luxurious as described. Beautifully furnished and still felt like “home away”.
The fit was perfect for our family of 7, ranging in age from 16 to 77. We loved the view from the balcony, looking down on the town below. The location was perfect as we were able to walk the short walk down the hill to the boulangerie for croissants and baguettes in the mornings. The Sunday market was also just down the hill and full of local produce and meats. The large, fully equipped kitchen allowed us to purchase and cook local foods which was a real plus for us! The town of Saint Cyprien is lovely and a good location from which to explore the region and its many rock shelters. It’s hard to say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay due both to the region and to the lovely house. When not exploring the region, we were reading or playing games or cooking together in the kitchen. Living spaces on 3 floors allowed us to have separation as needed. The bedrooms were large, and the beds were comfortable. There were 5 bathrooms. Anthony, the owner was very easy to deal with and accommodating. Laurence, the caretaker, was there to check us in when we arrived, showed us the house, and was available whenever we needed her. She was a jewel! We look forward to returning in the future!

Don't look any further!!!
Look no further than this beautiful home in what became our favorite town in the Dordogne. It's obvious that the owner takes great pride in his vacation home as it's beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. We were 2 couples who each had our own master suite. After touring the countryside each day we would return home where we each had our favorite couches to read, check our iphones, and nap. On days that were not too hot we had happy hour on the side terrace (not seen in the picture). We often cooked dinner from supplies we bought at the farmer's markets. It was all very comfortable. And if we needed anything, the housekeeper was only a stones throw away. Loved it all!!!!

Perfect house; perfect town
All six of our group were delighted with the beauty, location, furnishings and views of this house. We enjoyed the house and were thrilled with the discovery of the hidden gem, St. Cyprien. Luco’s Bakery and the wine shop, both a minute walk from the house, provided us with scrumptious croissants and delectable local wines. Laurence was most accommodating, willingly shuttling our group from the train station to the house. (We had expected taxi service and there was none!). The Sunday Farmers’ Market was bountiful, a treasure for us as we all love to cook. Again, it was a stone’s throw from the house. One caveat: if you have knee or leg issues, be aware there are four flights of stairs to two of the bedrooms. Otherwise, we all highly recommend this house. Do be aware of the bells from the nearby church if you are a light sleeper.

This house is just special. We were there with a mix of family and friends.The house absorbed all of us (and our bicycles) with enough space for large family meals and private space when one wanted some quiet. Gracia a Anthony por poner a nuestra disposición su extraordinaria casa y por su atención durante todo el proceso. La vivienda es tal vez la mejor que hemos visitado en muchos años de práctica del turismo rural. Además está perfectamente cuidada por Laurence que nos atendió con extraordinaria simpatía y eficiencia. La situación de la casa es buenísima, en un bonito pueblo perfectamente situado para recorrer la zona pero sin los agobios de otros cercanos llenos de turistas. La construcción sólida y sobria pero elegante. Los equipamientos (muebles, menaje, ropa de casa, etc) de primerísima calidad y de muy buen gusto. Finalmente nos queda valorar la zona como de extraordinaria belleza. Durante una semana, cuatro matrimonios amigos, la hemos recorrido incesantemente y hemos quedado maravillados de tantas cosas bonitas e interesantes. Muchas gracias por todo de parte de un grupo de españoles admiradores de Francia.

Many Thanks to Anthony for a wonderful week at his beautiful house, a true Dordogne Gem. Dordogne's Perigord Noir numerous attractions tops the chart and the house is located perfectly for these excursions. After shopping at the Farmer's Market (Sunday in St Cyprien, Wednesday & Saturday in Sarlat), we thoroughly enjoyed cooking French Cuisine in the well equipped Kitchen. We found a local Restaurant/ Bar called Le Chai and became regulars. The house had more rooms than we needed for 2 couples but we loved that there were 2 Master Bedrooms with ensuite Bathrooms (where else can you find that in France). We really enjoyed Laurence's warm welcome. She was very responsive and a super house manager. Breath taking valleys, charming historical towns, fresh fine food and friendly locals - what more can we ask. We highly recommend this house and hope to visit again. Merci Beaucoup pour une experience merveilleuse!

Wonderful home away from home.
As a group of three couples, La Grande Vue provided us with a wonderful home base, to explore not only the lovely village of St Cyprien but also the beautiful Dordogne region. Fabulous home!
We stayed a week in the house with another couple. It was a fabulous experience. The house was more like a home than a rental. The quality of the furnishings, appliances, linens, decorating were all a "10". Everything worked without a hitch. We were all impressed with the quality of the house, by far, the nicest we have stayed in on our numerous rentals. The outside terrace was a real treat, with a lovely view of the valley. Perfect for a morning cup of coffee or afternoon glass of wine with friends. Saint-Cyprien is a quiet village, but we found it a welcome respite from the more touristy towns. Many thanks to Anthony for a truly memorable experience. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. All the personal touches, fabulous library collection, beautiful chandeliers everywhere all contributed to a wonderful experience.

This is a superb home in the perfect location!
We loved staying in Saint-Cyprien, a location that is not congested with tourists. The home is in a beautiful, charming neighborhood. Each day it was a complete pleasure to wake up in the morning, walk to the bakery and then enjoy our breakfast on the patio. The home is even more stunning than in the photos and incredibly large. Each day we looked forward to returning home after a day of touring. My son and I took advantage of the wonderful kitchen and made our first cheese souffle together! Two things to keep in mind is that there are three primary floors and the church bells sound throughout the night, so if you have trouble with steps or are a light sleeper this may not be for you. Otherwise, the home and location are perfection, and this is coming from an incredibly picky traveler. Also, Anthony is a responsive and thoughtful host. While you will not have the pleasure of meeting him, somehow he conveys through his webpage and emails how important it is to him that you enjoy your stay in his home.

Extraordinary home - perfect for American travelers!
As an American family of 5 who often travels to France it was an absolute please staying in this beautiful home. Often in france we feel nickle and dimed for every little thing - sheets, towels, and so on and so forth. In this extraordinary home you will find gorgeous rooms with beautifully made beds, top of the line amenities, English speaking owner and housekeeper to welcome you to the area. It's a dream location in a fully updated and modern historical home and village. We are particularly fond of St Cyprien because it has all the charms and things you may be looking for without the traffic and congestion of local Sarlat and Beynac. You can walk to the Boulangerie each morning, stroll down to the stores and pick up anything you need at the pharmacy. In the summer you'll find daily events like the marchée gourmand and the big Sunday market. If you're looking for a river beach for younger kids we started taking our kids at age 2 and 3 to the 'plage du coux' where you'll also find a life guard. And don't miss the local traveling small circuses for families with young children. Finally you'll feel like you're on the set of 'Beauty and the Beast' while almost never seeing another American. It's one of the most well kept secret areas of France from American tourists. Enjoy! This property is worth every penny!

A beautiful house in a charming village
What an amazing property in the heart of the charming French village of Saint Cyprien. So much space (we almost couldn't find one another!) Plenty of little nooks in the house to enjoy our surroundings, including the terrace overlooking the village where we relaxed with sunset drinks & nibbles. The bedrooms were roomy & comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the restaurants, boulangeries & shops a short stroll away. Our stay was short, but memorable. We were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely love to return.

Lovely family home in excellent location
This is a beautiful house in an idea location for exploring the Perigord, particulary Les Eyzies, Beynac, Sarlat, La Roque Gageac and many more. I don't think we have ever stayed in a better equipped house and Lawrence the housekeeper made us very welcome. The house was immaculately restored and maintained and had the feeling of a family home rather than a holiday let. Although it is situated in the old part of the town, don't let the proximity of the church and the noise from the church bells put you off because the internal and external shutters as well as the glass in the windows kept out most of the noise. We welcomed the air conditioning as it was 35deg. when we arrived and stay at that temperature for several days. Ask Lawrence about places to eat before she leaves as those in St. Cyprienne are a bit basic. The second floor balcony is a superb place to enjoy the fine views over the valley.

We had a great time staying in this comfortable, elegant and spotlessly clean home and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break. The local area has much to offer and St Cyprien is a great location to explore the region. The house is enormous and has everything you might need and there are enough local shops and supermarkets nearby. We had a slight problem with a faulty microwave which blew a main fuse in the house and couldn't believe it when an electrician turned up within 10 minutes to fix the fuse and a new microwave was delivered within hours! The only possible downside is the proximity of the house to the abbey and its tuneful bells which chime all through the night - so light sleepers could do well to choose a room on the opposite side of the building. We will miss sitting on the terrace at dusk to take in the glorious view and watch the swooping swallows!

Incredible Property in the Perigord Region
An incredible vacation experience in the Perigord region! La Grande Vue is located in a picturesque medieval town in the heart of the Perigord region, close to Sarlat, Hautefort, Cadouin, Beynac and many other exceptional tourist locations. The home has been impeccably restored and sumptuously furnished. For those who love to cook, it features a dream kitchen with virtually every imaginable tool and enough dishes and glassware for a party of 30. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and have comfortable mattresses and top of the line linens and duvet covers. The home features laundry facilities, WiFi, on-site parking, etc. Our only regret is that we didn't book the villa for a longer stay. We will definitely be coming back. Stunning Property / Great Location
This house is truly stunning. It's beautiful, immaculate, comfortable and in a fantastic location. The terrace is great and we spent many an evening on it enjoying a bottle or two of wine. You are less than a two minute stroll from the shops and cafes of Saint Cyprien and a short drive from the main sites of The Dordogne. Thanks to Anthony and Laurence for providing such a wonderful house. We look forward to staying again soon.

An unforgettable stay at The Grande Vue!
Dear Antony We so really enjoyed our stay at the Grande Vue that it was difficult to leave. All was perfect: the house was so clean (thank you Laurence), so spacious, so nice and well furnished & equipped! We couldn't dream a better place to stay and visit this interesting area (Sarlat and medieval villages, castles, Lascaux caves, ...). Thank you for all. Hoping to coming back soon.
